Gahhhhhdddd every time I watch a video like this I'm just like "why the hell didn't my professor explain it this way". Very helpful, I have an exam in a few hours and this cleared things up sooooo much. Thanks!

Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to go over each of the concepts without using overly-complicated wordings! I have a test tomorrow and I was completely lost with the textbook definitions for this stuff, but this video is truly a lifesaver for me. If only my professor could teach the concepts as well as you do. Thank you so much again!

People like you are invaluable. It's a real phenomena where students learn more from videos like these than from their text books, and people should really look into the reasons why.

I think the reason is that students come to the online lectures with bits and pieces of information plus some partial knowledge from their class, textbooks, and professors, and the online lectures pull all that fractured knowledge together. Just my theory!

If lecture notes explained maths like you did I would actually pass.

Lecture notes are often horrible, they aren't pedagogical in the least and feel more like reports or something.
They are also really bad at giving concrete examples and just go on about general proofs everywhere, which really doesn't say that much when you are still new to something.
Personally I think it's much better to briefly summarise the main ideas (kind of like in this video) and then give a bunch of very simple examples and slowly make them more and more challenging.

I was a math major so this was easy of course. I have watched a lot of educational videos on this topic and found your explanation the best the most clear and easy to follow for anyone. So good job!

Thanks for this, it's hard to find resources that explain this clearly.

Yes! I have the same book! (although probably a later edition, just noticed your comment is from 6 years ago) and the book is so damn confusing. It expects us to already know what it's talking about and spends wayy to much time on proofs rather than showing us how to use the methods.
