4:59 not true there are lots of puffers that are true freshwater and will die in brackish water. For example: pea puffers, Amazon puffers, mbu puffers, fahka puffers, hairy puffers and so many more.
Had this guy's for almost a year in fresh water and with guppies tetras and mollys and other fishes, they look fine never bit ther tell off or any like that always feed them clam and never had problems with them
some care requirements for your green spots (tetraodon nigroviridis) needs lots of plant cover( although they tend to nibble soft plants so go with fake if you want) appreciate some manzanita wood in the tank, although any other bodwood with twisted roots will do good appreciate really clean water, so do water changes twice a week Temperature: 75-82°F (24-28°C) pH: 7.5-8.5 Hardness: 10-20°H well done for getting a rather big tank, since they need space and props to your for getting a rather big group to help dissipate aggression
My heart! They are so cute!, I adore puffers and their derpy little faces. Currently me and my parents have Discus, Koi, one Beta, some others he never told me the name of, and some crayfish, along with mini albino catfish and three pleco's, and I recently got an axolotl, and I'm afraid that happy smile is the closest I'll be to a puffer for a while.
I keep these fish. Even if they were small or large as long as they’re in a large enough group to school together and they’ll be fine I love these fish they got a lot of a personality. Nice tank and puffers.
I want to Ask?Is Puffer Aggressive Because My Alligator gar And Snakehead Get His Tail Broken/Bean Broken After I Put The Puffer In But I Never Saw The Alligator,Snake Head Fight And Even See The Puffer Getting Close To Those 2 Boss Of The Tank And My Puffer Is Like Only 4 Inch While My Gar And Snakehead Is 11 Inch and those Two Never Fight?
I love it 😁 im jealous wanting to upgrade from a 55 to a 125 or 150. Just have a tiger oscar and a pleco at this point once I have a 125 or 150 im getting a jack Dempsey or green terror or maybe one of each
@OSSO I'll look more into it thanks for the advice, just saying it's not the end if the world if they are not in brackish water ( I do treat them with medication salt very little every month just to keep all my fish stress level down and promote good health)
@@robbiemcdonald4825 it's literally the end of their world if they do not live in brackish or full saltwater. They can only live so long in freshwater.
Hey bro I had a figure 8 and I had him in fresh water for about 2 months in freshwater and when I tried acclimating him into his brackish water (1.004) and he got stressed out I he started turning a dark grey. He later ended up dying 2 days later. My water was on point kh,ph,hardness, nitrates we’re safe to none and I also have an Seachem ammonia checker in the safe zone.
When you say you acclimated him does that mean you took him out, added marine salt, & placed him back in? From what I have researched you must SLOWLY add Instant Ocean Salt over the course of weeks...measuring and adding 0.02% on the specific gravity chart every 2 weeks to make sure it isn’t harming them in any way. If the specific gravity (Salt Level) was added in a matter of 20 minutes then that was more likely the cause of his death...
Hello please respond I am about to get a anglefish and I want to provide the best care I need advice I have a 10 gallon I’m going to put sand in it and probably live plants with some decorations how many angle fish can I put in it because 1 adult anglefish at my local store costs 24.99 and the baby’s cos 3.98 and I want to know how many baby’s can I put
Yeah you can get away with that for a couple years... what you’re doing tho is shortening their overall lifespan since they are so young and still living in non-brackish water 💧
those puffers r probably goin to kill each other and there r a ton of freshwater puffers such as; pea puffer, dragon puffer, hairy puffer, arrowhead or pig-nose puffer, mirius puffer, schoudenti puffer, fahaka puffer and the mbu puffer
I like your videos and have watched them since the How to breed angelfish vids. But please stop skipping the video between your sentences. It makes the image jump and gets a bit annoying.

You shoud get snails from your tad pole tank and feed them to the puffers.
Ps:The snails help sharpen the puffers beak.
Yea mine was happy in the group of 3 aswell for a while, half a year in that started to change and it will only get worse.
What size was your tank? Any tank mates?
