I own a Snugpak Ionosphere and I think it's the best bivy ever. Completely waterproof and plenty of room for me and 65L pack inside. The low profile and olive drab green color, make it a very effective, stealth-camping tent. The Outdoor Research Alpine AscentShell Bivy is also nice but much smaller inside yet much easier to get in and out of than the Ionosphere. I'd like to see a rain test on these bivys to see if they're actually waterproof and what's they're like in windy storm conditions. There's many 1-person tent alternatives that might make more sense, depending on your needs.
I reccommend both a Rab Siltarp 2 in conjunction with a Rab Survival Zone Lite Ultra Light Bivi Bag (about 500 grams / 1 lb combined weight) This offers a holistic shelter approach. I have a Tarp Tent Li Solid Mesh interior (just over 300 grams) for both bug and extra wind protection & privacy with the cuban fibre waterproof tub base. The TARP is key, affording a multi use administration area for food prep etc, a dry zone to enter / vacate the bivi bag, drop it all low in a storm, all well under a kilo / 2 lbs combined weight, with much more usability as a holistic system, over both a tent or solo bivi! (my only consideration would be a 'high mountain' 4 season tent application, but folk even go to those places with a heavier weight bivi too!) all set up in a few minutes 👍🏻
