I have the feeling that this video had more sound effects and also a smoother montage than usual, making the video really fun to watch. Anyway, keep it up!
I really liked the scripted commentary where you explain a mechanic or the ranking system in Rivals of Aether. However, the scripted commentary for gameplay or anything not related to explaining a mechanic made it feel disjointed going from commentary --> gameplay --> funny meme or edit.
nice video! here's a clairen tip: try comboing into the back hit of downsmash instead of using fsmash as a combo finisher. downsmash is slightly harder to hit but kills earlier. also, your best punish after landing a parry is hitting the sweet spot of side b.
I picked up rivals when it was on sale, as a melee enjoyer (I play fox and falco). If you want to get even better and more tricky, you should absolutely try to implement wavedashing and dash dancing in your gameplay; characters like zetterburn (who I play) benefit from good, flowing movement. Good luck on the ranked climb!
It's nice to see this game get revived before the next game comes out. Definitely lost a lot of popularity/playtime since it came out so nice to see it getting back up again.
Yey, going to the better game 8). I liked your roa video, it would be cool if you submit more rivals content in the future 8). I'm a clairen main btw, you were so much better than me at your start xd.
I played Rivals for the 2nd time last night in preparation for Rivals 2. The character i gravitated towards was Elliana but i definitely had a lot of trouble until i found my control set up. Kraag and Shovel Knight seemed like busted, at least at the braindead "never touched the game before level" i gotta say i can't wait for ledges and blocking in rivals 2 lol
At this point i'm probably doing everything wrong, but it felt like when you're losing you're just totally fucked. And you can be so close to the stage and just not stand any chance of recovering with certain characters. I'm hoping ledges and blocking combat this feeling in the next game
Very nice! This looks really fun! I'm curious how the game mechanics compare to Smash Ultimate. This game looks like the fights are a bit faster than Ultimate, but curious what other elements are different?
There's no shield holding, you can only attempt to parry. Also, no grabs (except if it's a special). Wavedash are super easy, everyone has wall jumps and wall clings. No ledge hanging. Optimal DI is different, too, iirc.
Lets all get back into Rivals. Smash online is bad. Brawlhala is trash. Fraymakers ans nickelodeon 2 are dead and Multiversus isnt back yet. Rivals of Aether is the best riht now
I don't like it when people have an elitist mindset like that and think 1 fighting game is superior over the other. Everybody likes different games for different reasons.
Hope you enjoyed the style in this video!
I tried to change something up, feedback is highly appreciated!
Feedback: keep the videos coming 😅

Loving the new rivals content, it's a good change of pace
I am so ready to go on this Rivals journey with you, Sillin! Keep up the great work!
So glad you’re playing rivals now! Very entertaining to watch you climb ranks and see you improve more and more!

@@airhead3409 It sounds great, though I probably will have to unlearn Smash Bros mechanics. 😅
I know it won’t happen but I still wish this series would return
Road to masters 🔥
Wait you have to wiggle to sdi in smash? Neveer heard about that 😅
Yeah SDI in smash is terrible

Are you on console? It's much harder to find matches if you're not on PC, unfortunately

But not seeing clarion use down b against projectile characters like Eliana seems like they didn’t do the character SPECIFIC tutorials 🫢
