I had a testing session on Sunday, tried the Stealth, Rogue, Ping and then turned to this club, which provided me with great feedback /feel off the face, consistency of shot, distance (and like you've said) spin was down to 1800-2200 region, couldn't fault it.
What was also pleasing, I tested it in poor conditions, strong left/right wind with rain (poor rage balls) and it still went straight! The price point compared to the other main models out there, is excellent too, so I've ordered the Ltd Max, and if it performs like it did in the testing, I'll be happy.
After playing the Cobra LTD X LS for over 2 months, it is head and shoulders above any driver that I've ever played. On the course it is long and I play a high draw and it is very repeatable. If I do have a mis-hit it is very forgiving and usually in the fairway or just in the first cut. COBRA has a winner in these drivers for sure.
With seeing no issues, ignore the spin. Hit the one that you hit the straightest and the furthest. Too much data can keep you from the right club head/shaft combo for YOU.
A golfer who is incredibly average. Never had a lesson and went and ordered an ltdx Max today. Never hit a driver so straight and consistant in all my life. Can't wait to pick it up with the hybrid and full set of irons I also purchased today
Would you mind if I asked you what shaft you are using?? Did you change the weights around ?? Did u struggle with a left to right shot before buying it.. thank you
@@keano1655 I got the extra stiff shafts. Have had them for a couple of months now and been very happy. Still have the occasional shank but it has been a lot more consistent than my previous driver.
Good luck
@@B1nChickenwhen you say extra stiff shaft are you talking about the smoke or the smoke blue?
Yes. It is the best! I have the LTD Max, I just moved the weight around to fit my swing and added a golf pride jumbo grip.
Great review....I was wondering how this new Cobra stacks up agains the True and blue F 9 driver???? could you do a comparison and tell us which shaft you are using also.....thanks....
It's Uber low spin on my radspeed xb as well it's a beast I love it
The only honest club testing channel on UA-cam…
I had a fitting yesterday and really wanted the Mizuno to be my pick as I love their irons and play them.
I went through the process with specifically asking not to include Taylormade (the locals that play Taylormade are absolutely golf snobs.....don't won't to be associated with them......besides Stealth is butt ugly in person to me. Anyway, I tried Ping 425 hated the sound....I currently had G400 and really liked it but just hit it way too high. Mizuno was a no go hit everything right, I'm a draw player. Rogue was just ok, looked good but just couldn't get it to do any better than G400. Titleist ts2 was in the running as the leader. Asked to try Cobra and and it started off pretty good went back and forth with Titleist and Cobra and then tried the Cobra Ls version with the Hazrdous smoke rdx blue and magic started to happen. I'm 61 yrs old and was getting 100 mph swing speed 148 to 150 ball speed 260 carry and 284 total , spin 1935 to 2300. I was and am over the moon with those figures as my starting point with this driver. Put in the bag and can't wait to get some time on course with it.
Had a driver fitting Monday. Tried this, the G425, Rouge ST max and Stealth. I couldn’t hit this for love nor money. Hit the Ping well but the 2 that felt best, sounded best and had the best results were the Rogue and Stealth. Nothing really to split them for me but went down the rogue route in the end. Slightly better dispersion and better from off centre hits. Asked the question you said in a previous video about asking to see the off centre hits not just the flushed ones. The performance of the Rogue was superb. Couldn’t believe how good it felt and how consistent it was. Excited now for the release day
I don't like how shallow the face is on this thing. I don't miss too far off center front to back unless I'm really tired, but I will hit high in the club face as a regular miss. Really liked the rogue st max for that reason.
Low spin with stability and launch is basically the unicorn if it works for the individual. Good discussion Andy!
My f9 is the best driver ive ever owned. Cant see myself changing for years.
The LTD is considerably better. I can't lie. The feel on that cobra is soooooo soft
price point, starting to get to the point of why buy it brand new, play the years before driver and then mid season switch to new driver off of used market.
I got the Ping 425 in September and do like it but I’m still keen to try the Cobra and Rogue drivers. It’s how to do it without the mrs knowing. 🤔
You should review the Ltd X, it may provide good numbers
Thanks
What about adding a jumbo grip, that’s suppose effect the distance? Try an AVX ball too?
Good stuff did the low spin affect your dispersion much as distance was fairly similar , Out of all the new drivers which would personally opt for
I have tried Ping and Cobra and Taylor Made Drivers, and by far the best driver I purchased is the PXG 0811 Gen4 10.5 driver, it has a great feel, love the head design and color scheme and I am getting the longest drives I have ever hit, not going to change ever again.
what shaft and flex you use. and your club speed tq
I refuse to consider PXG simply because of their obnoxious marketing campaign.
I have switched to the LTD X and made adjustments to my followthorugh. I've never hit more fairways..
Always have been a high spin driver no matter what, struggle into the wind, this sounds like something I need to try,
Getting a lesson would probably be better. And cheaper!
Is it a good driver Andy?worth buying over a say stealth?
Great review 👍
I tried both of these and went with the Rogue.
I’ve got an old Fly-Z that looks almost exactly like it, it’s been and still is a good driver…
How do they compare against the PXG Gen 4 driver which I currently game? @ £285 can anything beat it?
Andy, I see the TSI models are still holding their price, if not still the most expensive. How does it stack up against these new releases from Callaway, Cobra and Taylormade ?
Tried all of these heads Andy but felt harsh and gained nothing against my tsi3. The fitter had me try rogue st ls which bettered the cobra but i ended up with rogue triple diamond which is an ultra low spin bomber with forgivness
The stealth is priced £470, so cobra is still undercuts by a fair amount. I tried the LTDx out, but I couldn’t keep the spin rate below 4000. The stealth was spinning around 2500. I didn’t try the max, but I will go back and try that. The guy that was fitting me said a low spin rate was good, so that put me off the cobra, although I like it’s looks and sound.
Try the LS model also, it is very forgiving and will definitely kill some spin.
Got the F9 .Which of those would suit me? Play off 19..Not a massive hitter
Getting the Max today!!!
What happened to the studio you built?
I just fitted with Gen4 PXG driver and testing cobra with similarities with distance and spins number 🤷🏻♂️ and few hundred £ cheaper
Andy, is your gamer Tensie blue AV raw 65 Stiff? Isnt there some quality different between a real tensie and the stock tensie in TM?
I love Cobra but no, Mizuno STZ. I was fitted a month ago and Mizuno out performed every Driver I tried. I'm 15 handicap. I went with lighter Stiff shaft. I have 95-100 club head speed.
I recently got the STZ also and absolutely love it. I have never driven the ball so well or long
$399 is still a No go...PXG has a sale right now with custom shaft options for $225-260...tempting.
you dont have the jumbo grip on the shaft theres another + in yardage 🤣
Maybe try different balls so if you want a little bit higher spin use a higher spinning ball.
i love mine LTDx
Hmmm, your Epic Max numbers were 10 yards better, slightly more spin, 12.9 launch.
My F9 works just fine for me
Dude, I see you in all the LTDx reviews. I'll let you know if there is a real difference in the F9 and the LTDx both with the Ventus Velocore shaft, picking mine up next week unless I get a delayed notice.
@@TMar1961 I’m usually in all the reviews period. Lol. I don’t see the need to continually upgrade my driver which equates to lots of cash that I can’t see spending for very little gain, especially at my age and skill level. Bought some new fitted irons instead 😁. Have an F9 3 wood as well. Like them both.
@@kevinwood1722 I'm not dissatisfied with the F9 at all, just banking on the LTDx to be noticably better on off center hits. It's likely the last driver I ever buy cause I'm old already.
@@TMar1961 according to Bryson this driver is a precursor to the one in development for next year, which Bryson wants but has to wait. At least the bumblebee yellow has been ditched, at least temporarily, so the new ones look a little better. Both mine are the black and white versions and the aftermarket shafts I had installed don’t look weird with that color scheme.
I still have a Cobra Fly Z I like.
Yes, Yes, Yes and YES!!!
How does cobra Ltd x compare to pxg gen 5
By far the best driver
Just brought mine from American Golf £349
Sadly I'm waiting till next year cobra model. Bryson slipped up and said this driver is good but next years driver is light years better
Heard the exact same thing, RADspeed remains in the bag for one more year.
I remarked to wifey, what is spin rate all about . . . her response, when is the holiday review coming?
Too low spin is not good. Will stick with last seasons Callaway speed
I've had a Speedzone for a year or so now and I have to be honest, I still prefer my G30 Ping. The Cobra was a gift so not in anyway trying to be ungrateful, but I've never stood over the ball and had the same confidence I have with the old Ping.
ltd way better than speedzone in spin and feel.
I found the cobra to be very spiny. I guess it could be or difference in delivery.
@Travis Eckard try the LS model, spin will go way down.
You think that the cobra will have 'jailbreak" in the next version as they stole everything else from Callaway? And we are looking at you Mizuno and Tour Edge. lol
Nice audio... Oh, what audio...
Why do you care about the spin number? Surely you should just look at the end result. You got 9 yards more out of the Callaway - it's a no brainer, unless the Cobra is much more accurate, in which case maybe you should consider it.
One of the reasons that Cobra have increased the price, is because a lot of people believe that you get what you pay for.
You referencing carry distance Chris….have you considered what impact spin has on total distance?
It’s not according to MGS Most Wanted. In fact the best driver of 2022 was released in 2021! So much for Red Carbon and Flash Faces etc.
Well it’s not according to my Most wanted and that’s the only one that I can comment on 👍
I for one am glad you have done this video on this specific club. IMHO It is the driver of drivers for the average golfer with the moveable weight tech as well as the adjustments of the hosel. £399 though 😓
If you have driver problems, pretty sure its not the club.
You're hardly an average golfer pal. I'm better than average and I can guarantee you play better than me.
I was thinking the same, I shoot 85-87 on 6000-6200 courses ( I'm 60) and I think he'd smoke me.
I said this previously.. average handicap in England is 17. I’m 18. Andy would be 10 or lower. Maybe he means his swing speeds? Or it’s his marketing brand. Either way it’s a great channel.
Cobra F9 is the 💩💩💩💩💩
I love your insight, from fellow ave golfer 🏌️♂️
