R.I.P. Des, a great singer, he music will not be forgotten, and a friend of Ireland, he live here for most of his life, Thanks for giving us your voice.
thank you Roger and Des for your wonderful music, and for who you both were, this is Emotional to watch, I always loved watching you both you both truly Sparkled very brightly here, Haven is brighter today RIP ❤
I didn't know he'd just passed on. He must have been a grand old age. When I was a kid in the 70s my mum had and sometimes played an album of his called Mexican Whistler.
RIP to both of these guys. Roger Whittaker could whistle as if he was playing a flute. Des? Well, my late dad nicknamed him Des O'Crooner for sending him to sleep, at a live performance in Ashton Theater Lytham - St. Annes. 😆
this makes me feel so sad especially both have now departed from the world may they Rest in Peace. This also reminds me that both my parents are no longer here either. I miss them so much.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤absolutely love this song once again radio two's pick of the pops skips playing this song 🎵!!! Really annoys me.rip to two great enteratainers
I can do that whistle... He has been my inspiration for 15 years now lol ... Thanks for this totp live!! never seen it before!! 👍🇬🇧😋 P s. Check out David Attenborough for whistling.. his bird mimics have taught him secret ninja style whistle techniques ... No joke 😋🇬🇧👍
amazing whistling from my namesake. Des is ok too but Roger had lovely songs like Durham town, The last farewelland new town in the morning. a great all round entertainer like Des was i suppose.
Ironically this duet was sung by these two on Des O'Conmor tonight and was very popular so was released as a single. So without Des the song would not have found such a broad new audience. I watched it at the time.
Rest in peace, Roger, another fantastic entertainer gone rip
spot on great talent

Rest In Peace Des and Roger.
Both able and capable entertainers.
Unbelievably beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes.

I didn't know he'd just passed on. He must have been a grand old age. When I was a kid in the 70s my mum had and sometimes played an album of his called Mexican Whistler.

RIP to both of these guys.

Fantastic version of this from Roger.. Live at the Tivoli DVD. A truly wonderful concert 1989..

A-Great Man R I P
Awsome,id forgotten how butifull this was😊❤
Ah thanks for the kind words
What is hilarious about that ? It is a song better than most of '86, and they sing/play in key!
RIP
I'm sure the 18 year olds in the audience love this 💃😂
Was that supposed to be cynical?
Fine Rest in peace.
When my cousin was little he used to hide when Roger Whittaker came on TV,my cousin said it looked like he was looking out of the TV at him
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤absolutely love this song once again radio two's pick of the pops skips playing this song 🎵!!! Really annoys me.rip to two great enteratainers

0:36 is that Brian May in the crowd?
amazing whistling from my namesake. Des is ok too but Roger had lovely songs like Durham town, The last farewelland new town in the morning. a great all round entertainer like Des was i suppose.
Look real life gentlemen they very rare these days
What is Des wearing 😅
why?
Am i ghe only one getting a western vibe?
No, it feels exactly like the opening to the theme from "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly".
Roger's intro was far too long. Des should have come in sooner. Not heard this since wow maybe 1986. Thanks for uploading.
I never knew they worked together until a old top of the pops on bbc4
@@nostalgictv4104I remember Des and Roger doing this on Des’s show first.
Why was this hilarious and odd? just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't make it so....
Des o connor was a bit of a comedian but hes defo been serious here
Des wasn't really needed, Roger owned that.
Ironically this duet was sung by these two on Des O'Conmor tonight and was very popular so was released as a single. So without Des the song would not have found such a broad new audience. I watched it at the time.
Yeah des had the carisma and was probably more famous than roger at the time
I'm sure Des would have agreed with you.
@davidsmith5523 both very talented
RIP Roger Whittaker
