Pirahna Bytes games tend to be a bit tricky to get to grips with, but well worth dedicating the time to in story terms. The original Elex was a perfect example of this. I'm hoping for similar from the sequel.
This dev is located literally in my neighborhood. :D Normally PB games aren't noteworthy buggy or glitchy since the historically bad state Gothic 3 was in. Elex 2 on the other hand seems to have at least performance issues and pretty uncanny valley faces. If you can overlook some flaws you can have quite a unique (in a positive way :D ) experience with Piranha Bytes games. Exploring these handcrafted and challenging open worlds is always a lot of fun for me.
I had no idea Elix 2 was even in the making. I remember hearing very bad things about 1, so the game just never came back to my radar. It looks super fun and exactly a game that will hook me. However, this is more of a wait for a sale since in all cases I don't have time to play it right now. So in a while it will surely be on sale so that will come in handy. Elex 1 is great in its own way too. I am very disappointed with the clunky controls. I mean Piranha Bites made many great Western RPGS before. It's about time to make a step forward and make a AAA game. They are over 20 years on the market. Their games tend to have great ideas, interesting quests, great characters, and a beautiful open world. But they lack the polish to make a big breakthrough. I hope Elex II is gonna do more. I will give it a try 😉.
@@HellFireRPGs i think there are 2 ps1 deception and 1 on first person view the first on the series also on ps1 and theres trapt on ps2 which is basically part 3 last is deception 4 on ps3 but the better version is the ps4 which includes protagonist from deception 1&2 and trapt u will enjoy it since the story is very mature usually dealing with the devil
The difference in quality between the first and second title looks similar to how different The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings was. It's nice to see another European studio dabbling in the RPG market, though. Hopefully they keep going strong and are able to pump out a third title. The home base in this game makes me very interested in trying it out.
I adored Elex 1 and how hard the game was. The companions however were a bit lackluster with Falk being the only one I liked as he spawned in with a flamethrower. Elex 2....I have not finished. The world is beautiful, quests were generally good. The main story was.....ok...Facial animations were weirdwith those uncanny valley eyes from people staring at you. The companions again were....Hmmmm. The women annoyed me to no end, constantly arguing with me if I build affinity with the other women. Like, you are all adults. Grow up. I loved Nyra to start with but she ended up like Caja and Nasty, accusing me of being with the others (my Jax remained single in both games). I ended up liking Falk's arc a bit more. Bully was a one note companion, which was a shame as he was quite OP... Fox was a pest. I don't know why I have not finished the game. I got burnt out with the end game quests....I do mean to go back as I am literally in the final quests! I do love the factions in Elex and went with the Clerics on both...mainly due to the armour. I was disappointed that in Elex 2 I didn't get cool abilities by joining the Clerics but, I already had healing and ice magic from training with the Albs so it was ok!
So im really intersted on this game but im a little scared to buy it im use to play RPG games like the witcher series, the mass effect series, cyberpunk and a little fallout. So i dont know if I will like this game. But it looks really cool
There's some big names there. All those listed are better games than Elex 2 (Assuming Cyberpunk would be after the patches). Elex 2 is just as good in terms of lore, exploration and side quests.
I can see how you think that, haha. But the side quests were the best part of the game for me. Personally, I haven't been as interested in doing as many side quests as possible since the Witcher 3.
The first game was so, so, so f ing bad I’m just super hesitant to try this. The combat in the first game was unbelievably clunky and janky feeling and progression was brutal and snail paced. It was the first video game, out of hundreds, I’ve ever returned to Amazon because I hated it so much. I want to try this but damn man idk…

I always end up loving PB games, despite them being janky. Gothic 2 and Risen 1 are my personal favorites. Stoked to try Elex 2, I enjoyed Elex 1

I can't wait to play this, really liked the first game. But the models look odd. Oh well. These games are about the exploration.
Yeah, there's lots of strange faces. At least the environments look great!
It has what most Triple AAA Games are missing: Character. Gothic, Risen, Elex all were flawed but somehow they keep you coming back.
