Historic wedding of the oldest grandson of the Bobov Rebbe took place on the grounds of Floyd Bennett Field.
The Chusen, Eluzer Halberstam, is the oldest son of Rabbi Chaim Shulim Halberstam, who is himself the oldest son of the Bobov Rebbe, Grand Rabbi Benzion Halberstam Shlit”a.
Preparations for the wedding have been ongoing over recent weeks to prepare the field so it can accommodate the thousands of Chasidim expected at the wedding.
The Chusin is also a grandson of Rabbi Berish Meisels, the Satmar Ruv of Boro Park.
The Chusin’s father, Ravi Chaim Shulim Halberstam’s wedding brought together two of the largest Hasidic dynasties years ago, with the previous Bobov Rebbe, Grand Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam Zt”l, and Grand Rabbi Moses Teitelbaum Zt”l of Satmar, both being grandfathers of the Chusen and Kallah.
That wedding brought together thousands of people who came to see two Gedolei Hador dancing together at a wedding of their descendants.
