Was a great actor who played many various roles from comedy, to sitcoms, to sci-fi roles. Of course, The Hulk. Know He liked his role as Eddie's Father the best, however, I liked him better as Tim O'Hara. Class act all the way thru his career.

I knew about the cancer, but not about the death of his son. I agree that he VERY MUCH deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    • @eolsunder
      @eolsunder 2 роки тому +2

its stupid, to get a star you just have to pay for it. Its not like they just give it to great actors. You simply have to pay for it. Many great actors don't have a star on the walk of fame, because they refuse to pay for it. If someone wants to fork out what, like 40,000 dollars or what ever the current price is, you can have a star on the walk of fame for Bill. Isn't hard. Gene Autry has 5, people you've never heard of have stars.

I think at the time of his passing, he didn't have enough money to buy A Star. Liked him best as Tim O'Hara. That show was both ridiculous & very funny. Don't remember The Magician.

Bill looks seriously at another character and tries to say, "He's also a wife beater and that makes him very dangerous" or something to that effect. I loved Bill, but I remember "The Magician" as my favourite. They started a second season and made some sad changes, likely to reduce costs, the most memorable was that the jet that he called home for season one was dropped without explanation. For season two, he had a top-floor penthouse in a hotel. For me, as a kid, that change kinda' destroyed the entire premise of the show for me, but I was sad when the show was dropped anyway. B. B. was a GREAT actor. I knew him from "The Courtship of Eddy's Father," "The Magician" and "The Hulk." I've never seen a single episode of "My Favourite Martian." I may, however, try to find it.

my kid brother were talking about Bill Bixby's television career one day and my brother came up with this goofy title: "my favorite incredible Martian Hulk we were both drinking iced tea that day, I had a mouthful of iced tea still in my mouth, which I hadn't quite swallowed yet. when he told me that goofy title, I laughed so hard that all that ice tea flew out of my mouth right into my brother's face. we still laugh about that incident, humor is a funny thing to experience in life, it helps to overcome challenging times like going thru this covid-19 pandemic we've all been through over the past year. I suffered a debilitating stroke back on December 19th, 2004. which rendered me a disabled-mute. for the last over 16 years, having a sense of humor and seeing the funny side of life as tragic as it can be for some. I keep my sense of humor intact on a daily basis, I see the funny things everywhere around me, that's what has kept me going, over the past 16 years as a disabled mute. life is tough on me, it's no fun to have lost my ability to verbally speak and having my whole left side of my body permanently paralyzed. the memory of my brother's " my Favorite Incredible Martian Hulk" has stayed with me every time the topic of Bill Bixby incredible television career comes up for discussion. he left behind a legacy. i Remember watching episodes of My Favorite Martian back in the 60's, I watched that TV show every week it came on. growing up in the 60's, was a lot of fun. TV was great back in the 60's that's what first got me into science fiction, programs like the Outer Limits and the Twilight zone were my favorite TV shows back in the day, My Favorite Martian is where it all began for me. I'm still very much into SyFy. I have all the original episodes of the Outer Limits on DVD. as well as the new version of the Outer Limits. i watch videos of old episodes of my favorite Martian on You Tube. hello there. thank you for the vid and biography of the great Bill Bixby. you added on some more info that i did not expect. i have been a loyal fan of the incredible hulk for a long time. and i even own all 5 seasons on dvd with a special 6 disc "best of" the incredible hulk. and even the pilot episode on vid tape which still plays today, with commentary on the beginning of the vid tape, from Lou Ferrigno the hulk himself. and the one phrase that will live on with me, that speaks volumes of truth...."Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when i am angry." Dr. David Banner.

I was very young but I remember wanting the Corvette from the Magician series. I followed his career from Courtship to the Magician, to the Hulk. Watched his wife on Days of Our Lives. Felt so saddened by his losses. He always seemed like a nice man. Once of the best TV Dads. RIP Bill Bixby 💟

Bill Bixby was my personal tv dad. It is and was one of the healthiest and most positive relationships anyone could hope for. Seriously, this is tv serving the highest purpose anyone imagined and I am grateful I had the opportunity to watch him growing up. He will be missed.

My Uncle Fred was a lighting technician and worked on My Favorite Martian. He got to know Bill Bixby well and found him to be a really friendly guy. Years later Fred worked on Speedway with Elvis, who he got to know well cause he and Elvis were born on the same day. Fred told me that Bill Bixby wasn't the same as he was in Martian. Something was troubling him during that year. He more than anyone deserves his star on the Walk of Fame.

I had seen reruns of "My Favourite Martian" so was familiar with Bill, and when, as a child, I saw the first teasers for "The Incredible Hulk" I immediately put Hulk to the top of my "must watch" list! It was awesome, Bill was awesome, and it's incredibly sad that he died way too young. I also believe he should have a star on the Walk of Fame. I believe I saw a few episodes of "Magician" as well. Great actor, great guy.

I remembered watching Bill on these shows and movies as a child and I had no idea of these tragic events in his life. I do hope Bill, his ex wife are at peace and are now with their child. And he does deserve to be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he was a hard worker.😊😊

He was also in the Marines before his acting career started. I remember him from "My Favorite Martian", when I was 6 years old when it started. I never saw "Courtship" until reruns because we lived in the country and could not get the channel it was on. But, I loved "The Magician" and, of course, the coup de grace, Dr. David Banner. Bixby was a very underrated actor who was great at his craft.

Play this at 1.25 speed if you want this guy to sound a lot less smarmy. Believe me, it makes a difference. He actually sounds normal and not like an adenoidal kid.

Bill was so great as Dr Banner that Marvel changed the character to be more like him.
From 62 to 78 was emotional but didn't have a lot of range or development as a character.
When Bill started playing Banner, he added so much life and feeling (not just anger) that Marvel had no choice but to alter the comic version to be more like the TV version.
Much like how Christopher Reeves, Linda Carter and Adam West affected their comic variants.

I grew up watching The Incredible Hulk. I was sold on the show, when the Hulk threw the bear, in Death in the Family. This was the best show of the 20th century.

One of my favor shows was Eddie’s Father and, then, we watch him in the Incredible Hulk and, then, their was the Apple Dumpling Gang movies that Disney Put out, it was one of favorites after we went to see it in the movie theater, every time we couldn’t wait. When, we found out Bixby was the one behind Blossom that was mainly why we watched the series. Bill Bixby was a gentle soul, may he forever R.I.P.

Anybody remember "Ride Beyond Vengeance (1966)"? Really a Chuck Conners movie, but the part where Bill Bixby pulls the branding iron to his chest has stuck with me since I saw it. I love Bill Bixby in Courtship of Eddies Father and The Incredible Hulk, but I still remember the part from the Chuck Conners movie.

Back in the early 1990's I worked with an audio company that designed and worked on his gear. He was very much like the character Tony Blake from "The Magician. Spirit was his influential soul hence the classic 1973 white Corvette and private jet. He was a remarkable "Spirit". God bless you Bill Bixby!
