One piece fun fact to further tempt Karl: Until relativly recently the author would only sleep 4 hours per night, and would only take 1 day off per week, the rest of the time, he would be drawing or writing. So for at least a good 20 years, Eiichiro Oda has been having a sleep/work schedule comperable to Tesla.
I did 5 once, even that got weird. I could feel people moving around me like all my hairs were hyper sensitive to any air currents. When I finally slept I slept for 24hrs and had no idea that I had actually slept. Apparently family tried very hard to wake me but I was out cold
@kallanbrooks You see shadows in the corner of your eyes, as if someone was there. You start to hallucinate. On day 6, I was sitting on my bed with my ex, and then we drove down to the shops, did a shop, and then bam was back in bed. Was confused and said, "When did we get back from the shops?" But we never went, haha. I also smoke weed, so that probably didn't help. On day 7, I smoked a few bongs, and where I was sitting, not sure how to explain it but the room was moving as if your in a science fiction film travelling the speed of light but never reaching your destination while the same time my legs felt like they where being dragged. You become incredibly slow physically and mentally and lose all memory. You'll stand up to do something and then immediately forget ehy you stood up. Later on day 7, I went to a friend's house, and this was during Game of Thrones era, and during the week was watching allot of Game of Thrones lore and history on UA-cam. he asked me what my exs dad did, and I said he was a soldier of the night-watchman up on the wall guarding the realms of men. And that he is a big deal and has been there for years. And I 110% believed what I said and had no idea I was even saying it. Would not have believed it if my mate didn't record it. I eventually went home, smoked some more weed and went to bed, slept for 31 hours straight, and was brain dead for days after. Basically, don't do it!!!
I suspect Tesla was likely extremely neurodivergent and just had an absolute fireworks show going off in his brain chemistry at all times. Absolute Legend.
@juliennovak7554 construction. One job needed all the plumbing insulated, I was also needed on another job ASAP (I'm the only person at my company that does insulation). The only way I could accomplish that was to simply work until it was complete. I was then told that I actually wasn't needed on the other job yet.
My cat refuses to tear apart his own food. If i give him a piece of chicken or something, he will bring it back to me and scream until i shred it for him.
I worked 12 hour continental shift. Meaning every 2 weeks we switched from 7am-7pm to 7pm-7am. It destroyed me after a year and a lot of ppl quit after 3 weeks.
When kingdom hearts 2 came out, I spent two days awake... Decided to sleep when I looked up at the ceiling and started seeing keyblades in the popcorn. Not just kingdom key, either.... All the variations I'd used so far in the game. Started naming them and then just had the realization "ok, that's enough consciousness for now."
Can't relate to being a genius, but I spend around half of my night meditative sleeping. I'll be able to sleep for a bit, maybe 4 hours, then I'll wake up and can't fall back to sleep again so I mediate for a couple hours. Empty my mind and be right on the edge of unconscious but never fully asleep for hours. I'd ask somebody about it if I felt tired but I don't.
Done 72 hours without sleep once, but I sleep 5 hours a day on average, however, outside work and walkinga mile to and from it, I am largely sedentary, so my body gets more rest than my mind.
Haven't even started watching the video before I liked and commented but no matter what happens in the video I'm ecstatic that you are doing Nikola Tesla. Keep up the good work
I mean with the host of TIFO (Simon) he's got 17 channels he needs to be ahead. I watch casual criminalist and he'll occasionally make a reference to the time and it's like 6 months prior to the release date.

I know a lot of blue collar workers who only sleep a 4-5 hours a day because they go to work around 4am and get done around 6-7pm while still trying to have social lives/hobbies. So this isn’t that unbelievable to me, but I do agree people tend to attribute almost supernatural “powers” to Tesla
naaaa grounding would not work you would need to wore a chain mail over your whole body and the picture was taken by double exposure, so basically he took a picture with tesla coil on without him and then again with the coil off and with him underneeth, and it was a bad-ass picture made for basically "click baiting" awsome non the less

Five is my longest. But the record of going without sleep unassisted by medication is 11 days. It was a stunt for a radio show.
I do believe it's 11 that's the certified world record
I suspect Tesla was likely extremely neurodivergent and just had an absolute fireworks show going off in his brain chemistry at all times. Absolute Legend.

Thank you so much everyone at fact fiend especially Karl. You guys make the best videos and I'm excited to see more of your amazing content.

I love working graveyard shift. The labour is tough but I'd take it over cashiering and dealing with customers

you can't be serious thinking he actually did that. People like to ascribe magical powers to this guy - he was brilliant, sure, but not supernatural.

Not even that brilliant, TBH. He built some cool toys, but he spent most of his life chasing crazy ideas that bordered on pseudoscience.
@@TheRealE.B.to be fair the line between legitimate and psuedoscience back then was a bit broader

When my depressions first manifested, I couldn't sleep for 50 hours. But I had to deal with hallucinations!
Tesla invented the grindset mentality.
4 Days after that I had started to black out at work 😅
Me, when i regularly stay up for just over 24 hours...after knocking out almost a fifth of liquor
The sheer amount of claptrap and pseudoscience malarky attributed to Tesla is getting to be on par with Chuck Norris jokes.
14 days-ish you're ability to form memories and be coherent really goes to shit after the first seven.
Shout out to the over night crew- the rest of the world would grind to a halt without u
a couple of times in my life i wa able to sleep while still hearing and or watching something
so i was able to binge watch anime for a week straight and thats the longest ive been semi awake
fully awake was like 4 days and thats bc i got bored
one time in school after staying up for two days i fell asleep with my head down but was able to hear everything so when people said i was sleeping i was kinda mad
idk what happened but a couple of months ago i had a 12hr sleep schedule i stayed upp for at most 15 hrs and slept for 12
now im getting either 4 8 10 12 or like 17 hrs
thats the weirdest part to me
(wow i like to talk about my weird sleep another interesting one was in a span of like 4 days i slept over 2 days which is weird)

@@IronDruids prob? i really dont know its only happened a few times
Personally I prefer graveyard shift, it's a lot easier for me to stay up all night than it is to go to bed and wake up early
Tesla was right about many things in his early years, so he assumed that he would be right about everything. These Towers were of no use.
I'm convinced he's a robot
I stayed up for 5 days to see if I could when I was around 10 or 12. It definitely was a weird experience

Because then we couldnt have wifi, bluetooth, cellular data etc...

I wish more jobs came in graveyard flavor. I'd never meet anyone or get another date, but I wouldn't be tired all day.
