I dont see anyone forcing you to buy it ? Would you buy a normal polo ? In what way is it better ? No true petrolhead will buy those regular hatchbacks anyway, they are made for different market where people want a new car to go from A-B. The crossover is better in everyway for that purpose.
Yes I would buy a normal POLO. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with a normal POLO which is in fact as big as a MK4 Golf. I much rather have a small car from the early 2000's which were actual small cars. Also I am a petrol head but whenever I see a person in one of those dumb pretend SUV's I want to shoot them. Any real petrol head will but a proper car not a stupid SUV. A standard car can get a person from A - B. You don't need s stretched out Hatch Back to get you from A - B and if you need more space then theres the estate car. Also I'm not forced to buy one of those things but I am forced to look at them going down the road otherwise I will crash.
VWs product planners must have inhaled too many of their own exhaust fumes, this and the T-Roc are too close, how much more similar SUVs will VAG release?
They're in the same SUV segment. I agree that they're too close. They compete against the same vehicles as each other (the SEAT Arona is the same as the T-Roc under the skin, so it's interesting to see Carwow has listed the arona as a competitor to the T-Cross as well as the T-Roc. It proves the redundancy).
This is a city car in SUV-shape, not an SUV. It's ridiculous, this isn't better than a Golf except it fits more stuff and the ride quality is worse. I have no idea why people prefer it. I don't see these cars driving around packed full of stuff all the time, so the extra space certainly isn't used.
zolikoff Because it give people the implcation that because it's taller its bigger as well. Not to mention that people buy these things because they are supposedly more "practical" and "they seem safer"
They are being regulated they do not want to produce these products. These car companies have to follow certain emission and laws that limit what they can produce. Since small SUV's save them money in production and have been proven to be great for gas mileage thats why you are seeing this trend.
This car looks great to me. The sloping back end of new crossovers just reduces space....this is more box-like....which I like. Bigger more upright car/crossover fits just what I want. I'm 61, bending over (my back is crap at times) to crawl in the Polo which we have is getting harder. Boring is good....boring lasts.....flash is temporary until the "new" fashion comes along and then everybody jumps on that bandwagon. There is a reason people paint the walls in their house magnolia.....boring maybe, but it will still look good in 10 years. We are looking at this car plus the Honda Jazz and HRV with the newer stronger engine. Maybe the Seat Arona as well. I just hurt my back 2 days ago putting my golf clubs in the Polo since you have to lean over and hold them out to get them in the back on top of the folded down seats. These kind of cars (T-Cross) work for some people.....you don't need to be insulting about cars etc you don't like. Buy what works for you and stop complaining.

bassicuk1986 Boring hm. I love how no one is able to pick a few details they don't like about a car anymore to talk about what the designers could have done better. No just shittalk. "Oh it's a vw." " Quick, call it boring so I look good on the internet!" The only thing boring and repetetive is that kind of comment.
The only thing I really like is the redesigned gear selector, even though it's still a dual clutch... VW went back to torque converters pretty much everywhere in the world, except for Europe, and you never really know if you're going to have a good or bad one... A torque converter is just better in a basic car.
One major issue that everyone seems to miss including VW conveniently, is that the T cross only has 40 litre fuel tank capacity. That's a smaller tank than some smaller cars. Meaning filling up more often and less range of miles. It's a major flaw and vw doesn't even mention it on its brochure.
Yall car manufacturers are bringing back rear-end light bars (strip of red trim on the rear end linking tail lights) !! Porsche, kia, audi and now vw, anyone else notice?
I agree with Matt the Suzuki is the better choice . They are always at the top of the reliability reports (dont see VW up there) but why not the New Vitara instead of the Jimny. It is well equipped and has more boot space than the T Cross. It is available with 4 wheel drive which isn't just for "Off roading" remember last winter) plus pulling off from wet greasy junctions, probably go around corners better as well with the 4 wheel torque vectoring. Sorry folks, but I'd like to see MORE small SUVs. Specifically, some really sporty ones at reasonable prices. The closest thing to that at the moment, seems to be the Cupra Ateca with a 0 - 60 time of around 4.6 seconds. But you're still heading towards £40,000 by the time you've added a couple of options.
