Nas is so humble. When interviewers ask him how he feels about people comparing him to newer artists like Kendrick, Cole what he really should say is "Disrespectful. They don't een make em like me no more!" but instead he says shit like "I'm humbled this generation is even still considering me" LOL for fucks sake... love this man!
I think Kendrick is a dope lyricist and I applaud the kid for putting lyrical content ahead of popular club hits. He seems to have a good hold on the mainstream without having to sell out his sound. I like that. Nas is (in my opinion of course) just a whole different kind of artist. He is more than just a lyricist, he is an incredibly smart dude and is self educated. And I like that he's transcended 4 different eras while still maintaining his integrity. One of the best to ever do it.
Nas is a strong man to walk away from drama and foolishness Nas is man of honor and courage. He is a legend and his music is real and exciting. Good Video.
Greatest rapper i've ever heard. And Wtf Nas is almost 40 years old in this interview but really looks 25-28 lol. When he turns 50 is when he will probably look like he is in his 30s.
Exactly like saiyans more than people realize. A warrior race trying to be exterminated by Foreign evil out of fear. came and took us from our home and sent us to build and conquer other lands in their name
You got a good point. I think he was just tryna make sure he threw something at dude to answer his question....since he didn't really wanna say wht he listens to
If Nas thinks he's "a million percent real" he's not the mathematician I once thought he was. The way Nas stays out of beef is because he killed Jay Z with "Ether" simple, that shit is a classic. Anyone who thinks about going after Nas probably listens to that and thinks again.
VIDSTAR Nah he definitely is! He made it clear when he was angry in an interview that he don't like ppl who rap about how much money they got, or what kinda cars they drive etc...!!!
Watch his interview w Nardwaur. He pisses Nas off and makes him end the interview early... it's pretty entertaining. He doesn't like to diss Hovo or perform Ether even though it's the best diss track since No Vaseline.
K. That's cool. I won't bash anybody for their opinion. I thought Ether Kinda derailed Jay and pumped the breaks on his hold over NY for a minute but everybody is entitled...
In that Jay/Nas war i kinda thought Nas sunned him in each battle. The Stillmatic freestyle diss was a nice response to that summer jam shit where Jay left off with "ask Nas he dont want it with Hov" line. Then when the Takeover song dropped that included the last verse that was entirely aimed at Nas, i was impressed by Jay shit, i never thought Nas was finished by it tho. Then Nas responded w Ether. That was the most scathing diss record since Cube killed the entire NWA crew with No Vaseline. Jay-Z actually had a good chance at getting back at Nas but he didnt put enough effort into Super Ugly to really match Ether and he forced it out too fast. I always thought Jay biggest mistake in that was not taking enough time to really put a quality diss record out that matched Ether. I knew he was capable but i think he rushed it. And dont get me wrong, Blueprint was a classic too. It was every bit as good as Stillmatic. Its just that Stillmatic brought the best out of Nas and he won the war.
Not to mention that Gods Son was a great album too. And Blueprint 2 was kinda sup par in comparison. He could have trimmed the fat off them 2 discs and just put all the best songs on one one album. I gotta admit tho i have an unfair biased towards Nas because his illmatic and It Was Written albums have always been my favorite 2 albums from the Golden era. Nas is just kinda untouchable on the Mic in so many different ways. He can battle. He can tell stories (in reverse even). He can spit that Conscience shit and he has the vocab to use creative wordplay like Canibus and Eminem were always so good at.
Nice interview, I just really hope he was implying that you can't avoid listening to that mainstream crap rather than actually implying that you've 'got to' listen to it, either way he's still my favourite rapper and probably always will be!
ahahahah. massive respect for Nas, always keeping it real and they way he modestly states silently. " basically don't fuck with me or your end up like jay-z ". commentator. " word " LOL
I heard he beat the breaks off of n.o.r.e. in a stairwell of a restaurant when they was beefin about when he dissed n.o.r.e. on hot hot 97. N.o.r.e. threw a flower pot at him and all the dirt got all over Nas and Kelis. After that I assume he promptly proceeded to whoop that ass lol. I love to hear stories about your favorite rapper really whoopin ass for real💪. Nas was, is, and will always be my favorite hip-hop artist of all time✌
Jason Mitchell 😂😂😂😂... sleeping on the kid!!,, nas is layed bck .. he needed to lay hands on the d***heads!! for thinking they can get that shit off...
he said he listens to them because theyre always on the radio and tv n shit... its hard not to listen to them... not because theyre good, theyre just everywhere
i had to stop the vid and laugh when nas said about how if someone takes a shot at him wita record. "you dont really wanna go there...dont wanna do that"
Rap started in the Bronx, and developed across America. American slang, NY slang, West Cost slang are all incorporated largely into this Genre more than others, which would present barriers for a traditional learning of English grammar. This, as well as the lack of rap industry among European nations (besides Deutschland), essentially makes the Europe-scene irrelevant for rap. That's like being concerned that americans don't know who "Der fantastischen Vier" is.... Atleast they're asking though
I remember nas back in 1988 and never broke out really till illmatic and never had real shine till. . . . If I ruled The World Which had samples From Friends ( whodini) and Biz Markies Just A Friend . Remake from Prince Rakeem (aka)The Rza Of Wu-tang. for Nas Very first track type in live at the bbq which re sites life is a Bitc* and recylced lyrics Nas Is hip-hop's top 5 since 94'
Very true but I'm still trying hard to find all the acts that I would like, although I did listen to the Rick Ross track with Andre 3000 just because it has 3 Stacks on it.
True. He said he didn't want to tell who he listens to. Then you can't not listen to... Not necessarily that those are people he intentionally listens to.
Just listened to some of that crap, and I'm now sure Nas must've meant one cannot avoid hearing it on radio or whatsoever rather than actually appreciating such 'music'.
If y'all PEEPED GAME, he said rappers that u "CAN't NOT LISTEN 2", which equals ALL DA SHIT dey play ALL DA TIME when u turn on da RADIO. I think he was just being POLITICAL
he said that he doesnt want to say what he listens to... then says "you cannot listen to" 2 chainz, meek mill & ross. in other words its hard to not hear it because so many listen to it (maybe like sheep) so he doesnt really like to listen to them?
Nas is so humble. When interviewers ask him how he feels about people comparing him to newer artists like Kendrick, Cole what he really should say is "Disrespectful. They don't een make em like me no more!" but instead he says shit like "I'm humbled this generation is even still considering me" LOL for fucks sake... love this man!

One of the best to ever do it.
+Tony Starks Kendrick needs to find a producer that doesn't make garbage
I wouldnt say he's the best, but he's definitely in the top 1.
That makes no sense
Eazy- Marco smh
It's sarcasm.
Shriekin Leada YES
Shriekin Leada : Wow.
Nas avoiding beef? At this point he's way too respected and humble for anyone to start a beef with
that's true
Michael Havas Like Rakim, after B.D. Kane , you will be a fool to. Not even that, apparently it wasn't even that big, plus, they made up.
Nas won't be forgotten for awhile because no one has made a better album than Illmatic yet.
Crab Bisk mobb deep Infamous album is better
Madvillany equals illmatic
Stillmatic....
MMLP
@@hiiipoweriii2211 Hell No!
Dead or alive, he's Top 1…NO FUCKING DEBATE!
hell yea!
If I aint coming at you , and you coming at me, its an automatic loss.
How nas avoid beef... make songs called Ether
There's a difference between dealing with something and starting drama
@@clemensvandervelden5488 yeah but after Ether no one is going to fuck with nas or he'll probably make an Ether 2.
all the shit people have said abt him and tracks made he’s made one song
LOL man that Ether! Even Jay-z was like omg... geez.... please.. stop.. turn it off!!!
🤣🤣🤣yeah that'll definitely help🙌🏾💯
Nas is a strong man to walk away from drama and foolishness
Nas is man of honor and courage.
He is a legend and his music is real and exciting.
Good Video.
"You can throw a shot at me, you can throw a record at me, but you really dont wanna do that" lol favorite part!
that "Nas who" shit will NEVER happen... GOAT
Greatest rapper i've ever heard. And Wtf Nas is almost 40 years old in this interview but really looks 25-28 lol. When he turns 50 is when he will probably look like he is in his 30s.
jimmy jesus he is actually 42 now
I know that's why I said in this interview...look at the date of the interview, he was not in his 40s yet.
Nas has been in his 20s for 30 years
Nas 51 and he looks like he in his mid to late 30s
Most rappers would be foolish to beef with Nas esp. when he ethered JayZ. And Hov was a comparable nemesis.
Nas is a Legend, period. One of the greatest of all times!
Why he looks like he's 19 wtf !!!!! This man is god
Black's usually age slow
We like the saiyans
God’s Son
Exactly like saiyans more than people realize. A warrior race trying to be exterminated by Foreign evil out of fear. came and took us from our home and sent us to build and conquer other lands in their name
Nasty Nas in your area.
im boutta cause mass hysteria
but yo I Neva sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death.
about to cause mass hysteria*
how can someone so good be so humble?
iftahfradkin because it’s the way to be
He ain’t that humble in his lyrics.
3:08
"A lotta dudes out here is not based on reality"
But then he bigs up Rick Ross whose entire style is not based on reality lol
lifestraight lmao exactly
You got a good point. I think he was just tryna make sure he threw something at dude to answer his question....since he didn't really wanna say wht he listens to
Dam facts tho
Talk that shit my baby..they dont really wanna do that facts 🔥 half man half amazing 👑
If Nas thinks he's "a million percent real" he's not the mathematician I once thought he was.
The way Nas stays out of beef is because he killed Jay Z with "Ether" simple, that shit is a classic. Anyone who thinks about going after Nas probably listens to that and thinks again.
mad respect for him
The best writer period
He made ether. Beef avoids him
his recent album was def needed in the current rap game. so far life is good it's on my top 5 album of the year in 2012
nas probably lying about listening to 2chainz and them.
VIDSTAR Well, atleast you'd hope so.
2chaniz was making hits in 2012 bro
VIDSTAR Nah he definitely is! He made it clear when he was angry in an interview that he don't like ppl who rap about how much money they got, or what kinda cars they drive etc...!!!
Lol thats obvious
hhhahahh
its like one of his lyrics ".. 20 years in the game, still lookin' 17" lol
This is one of the reasons I love this guy!
nas looks exactly as he did as back in 94 lol
All time best nas !!
In Detroit, Ether was that smash. Nobody was bumpin Jay-Z for a minute after that. He didn't get hot around here again til' the Black Album.
Good shit y'all.

one of the best to ever do it, top 5 easily
goosebumps from this real shit.
He the greatest rapper of all time!
ahahahah. massive respect for Nas, always keeping it real and they way he modestly states silently. " basically don't fuck with me or your end up like jay-z ". commentator. " word " LOL
I think he said that because those are the only artists being peddled and played on the radio so u can't help but to hear them.
I heard he beat the breaks off of n.o.r.e. in a stairwell of a restaurant when they was beefin about when he dissed n.o.r.e. on hot hot 97. Jason Mitchell Is that how the story went? Lol
3:13 explains it all... NAS IS THE TRUE #GOAT
you don't really wanna do that !
2:26 Nas doesn't avoid beef. He had beef with Cam'ron, Tupac, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Cormega, and Prodigy lol
Hey does any1 know the finally instrumental at the end of the interview. HUGE INSTRUMENTAL
Nasir Jones is like Richard Alpert from Lost.. The man never age.
The title speaks for its self. He said those guys to avoid beef knowing that those rappers are the popular ones in hip hop
I RESPECT NAS!
Even before 94 with Live At The Barbeque. But I agree, my brother.
nas n pac has the best hiphop looks. real g swag uncompromised.
True
he said he listens to them because theyre always on the radio and tv n shit... its hard not to listen to them... not because theyre good, theyre just everywhere
I think he was saying that "you can't listen" to them as in they are so overplayed on the radio, etc.
peep the handshake at the end.
i had to stop the vid and laugh when nas said about how if someone takes a shot at him wita record. "you dont really wanna go there...dont wanna do that"
I have so much to say bout him but I'll just say he is and always be a wise man 🔱💯
Did you know Nas and Black Thought nearly had beef with each other. That'd have been awesome.
why would anyone wanna beef with a righteous man...
i like how you picked up on that!!
I can see em listening to those guys
Anyone know what the name is of the background sound track/music to this youtube video that starts from 0:54 ?
agreed brother
I love this man

Atleast they're asking though
THAT'S EXACTLY HOW IT SOUNDED,but I do listen to a lot of Ross though...Ever since "Luxury Tax".
Where are they now?
I remember nas back in 1988 and never broke out really till illmatic and never had real shine till. . . . If I ruled The World Which had samples From Friends ( whodini) and Biz Markies Just A Friend . that shit was fire i was like DAMN when i heard it
nice to hear from sumone named wiredboy he was probably wired wen he said that
We need a Nas chronicles
Nas= 1LUV!
Very true but I'm still trying hard to find all the acts that I would like, although I did listen to the Rick Ross track with Andre 3000 just because it has 3 Stacks on it.
It was a misunderstanding, not a true beef.
There will never be a time where people say "Nas who" !!!
Nas who..will never happen. Nas the 🐐 and it's not even close
Nas: Best rapper period.
nas is a real artist and everybody respect nas. simple
Nas never loses a war because he's very strategic...u DON'T wanna go there...
Most people just avoid the meat section at the super market.
@Nas is the G.O.A.T !
he could be listening to them to see what not to do in his music
Nas was just throwing us off in what he really listens to
True. He said he didn't want to tell who he listens to. Then you can't not listen to... Not necessarily that those are people he intentionally listens to.
people avoid having beef with nas
Nas is #1 in my opinion but difference of opinions 💯
LOL, I understood what he was saying, basically those are the people you can't escape on the radio, he probably doesn't listen to them.
...and FEMININ!!!
Actually what Nas stated is that, "You CAN'T NOT listen to..." But I feel you, in essence, I don't listen to them either.
I LOVE YOU FOR THE COMMENT.
@lifestraight. bt nas says if its jus music its ok. he knows ross ain gangsta bt does good music.
honestly man neither nas gets old nor his music does. he has the of 25 yr old.
So this dude had the chance to interview Nas and that was the only thing he could ask him? (confused face)
task force checking in!!!!! YOU KNOW HE BUMPING THAT LIL B #CNBFTBGB
Im jus as confused as u on why he said that tucking shit.seriously. I was smfh
Life is Good is rated XXL rating......
Just listened to some of that crap, and I'm now sure Nas must've meant one cannot avoid hearing it on radio or whatsoever rather than actually appreciating such 'music'.
If there ever is a time in Hip-Hop where people say "Nas who" you know Hip-Hop is dead.
💪💯
Nas the GOAT
Yet, you know who they are and probably hear stuff from them quite frequently. I think that was Nas' point.
If y'all PEEPED GAME, he said rappers that u "CAN't NOT LISTEN 2", which equals ALL DA SHIT dey play ALL DA TIME when u turn on da RADIO. I think he was just being POLITICAL
Agreed (:
he said that he doesnt want to say what he listens to... then says "you cannot listen to" 2 chainz, meek mill & ross. in other words its hard to not hear it because so many listen to it (maybe like sheep) so he doesnt really like to listen to them?
Nas is technically saying do u want another ether.... No
Greatest my ass
"1 million% real"
nas beefed with so many rappers jay z, 2pac, biggie, cormega , nature, prodigy
