- Ollo everyone! 💙
For this video, I only used a few scenes. This is because I couldn't find the best quality ones to download on UA-cam, and when I tried to get the scenes myself, my recorder decided to not work ;-; Hope you enjoy (or enjoyed) it anyway! Merry Christmas and stay safe!! 💙💙💙

Remember, the Grinch didn't hate Christmas, he hated people. Perfectly understandable.
And even though he hated people, he still cared for humanity.
@@gamingwithmax4209 Think you mean Whomanity.
@@gajspalt ahhhh I see what you did there.
He literally says he hates Christmas as a kid.
@@jaleeljohnson9915 After his present for that girl gets broken he gets bullied for being different. The only reason he hates Christmas is because people are mean to him not the other way around
"Dinner with myself, I *cannot* cancel that again"
I related to this quote most
“Slipping slowly into madness” is my favorite/relatable quote
@@ednagaley7239 Wrestle with my self loathing is what really got me 🤣
Like if it’s sooo important lol
I've had to cancel it five times this week because of people being people
I had to cancel dinner with myself once. I didn’t talk to me for weeks.
I definitely relate to the outfit scene, “ohhh, ahh, that’s it I’m not going…” 😂😂 thats me every Friday night

I’m just going to say it. The Grinch predicted today’s humor.
he taught a whole generation xd
He shaped us and our sense of humor, all hail the Grinch.
I thought the same but do not be fooled 😂 my mum was already acting like this with us as kids, us being max and her being grinch 😂 😭

I literally have no idea how people hate this movie, Jim’s performance completely carries it.
A lot of it relies on the performance and if you don’t get into it’s gonna be hard to like it(especially if you’re not a fan of Jim Carry’s style or this type of comedy). Plus while the elements of the Grinch and I’d argue Cindy are very well done, the film did have a lot of extra elements that seem somewhat unnecessary or mediocre in comparison like the bits with the one note bully mayor, the pretty generic backstory, and The forgettable love interest. I still really enjoy this film but again it’s mostly for the two stand out performances for the Grinch and Cindy(plus a minor shoutout to Cindy’s dad Lou)
Short answer: The movie ruined people's childhood.
Longer answer: As good as Jim's performance was, I don't think most people cared for a more cynical and ranchy version of a beloved, childhood classic.
That’s what I gathered. In the one hand it is a insult to what Doctor Seuss created.
On the other hand as an adult I now relate to the Jim’s cynical portrayal.
Ikr I was scared by the appearance of a real life grinch but the movie was great honestly
“carries”Did you do that on purpose
My favorite thing he's ever said:
*"you two are STILL living??????"*
😂
🤣
At least he remembers them xD
My mom and I went pass my old elementary school last month. The director of the school was old when I was in second grade and still around now.
I'm now 31. That was the exact question I said when we saw her.

The schedule scene. Gets me every time
Mines when he pulls the table cloth off and then goes back for the rest which I never thought was funny until now man

@@RalphFilms And the funny thing is that Jim Carey was supposed to make them fall with that pull, but when he didn’t he improvised and went back to knock them down anyway!

Lies again? Nescafe Coffee
This man molded an entire generation's humor.
This and the Emperor's New Groove definitely molded Gen Z's humor.
As a millennial in my thirties I can still remember how they made Jim Carey films like The Mask and Ace Ventura into Saturday morning cartoons, so Jim definitely molded millennials humor.
@@GenerationX1984 True 😊 But i am a 26 year old millennial, and i remember a lot of the older genzers grew up with us, they were just somewhat younger. My younger cousin loved all these movies aswell.
You know what's ironic and ICONIC?? The fact that Grinch is supposed to be mean and heartless (As his heart is three times too small and does everything he can to make it even smaller), yet in his schedule, he has plans to SOLVE world hunger and wants to tell NO ONE. One, because he doesn't want to be seen as a good person. But also notice that means he wouldn't get any credit or love or recognition from it. He genuinely plans this and wishes to tell NO ONE. Which I thought was hilarious, ironic and ICONIC!
i always thought he wanted to find the answer but not tell anyone the answer so it doesn't actually get solvrf
@@Bri-ro6zl I thought his answer would be to eat every food in existence, leaving none to eat and everyone has an equal amount of zero. Problem solved!
@@Bri-ro6zl I think you're correct actually
I thought that at first too but it would be more in line with his character to solve the problem and keep it to himself and not follow through, hence the tell no one
He means he wants to find the solution but not tell anyone how to solve it so it doesn’t get solved
The loathing entirely scene is so relatable as a retail employee
I hear you.
Ikr haha me at work
Exactly
That must've been the Augustus Who aka the Mayor
@@eragon400 I've had that thought too.
"5'oclock, solve world hunger. Tell _no one."_
I just love the way Jim delivered this part of the line :)
"....LoooOOAAATHE E N T I R E L YYY!!!" @ 1:35
How we feel about enemies from high school and college
That actually spooked me
I bet it was Mayor Maywho. That's the only person Grinch would personally hate on such a level.
I often use this one tbh... I think too often, people should get their shite together :))
@@Dalton_Boardman2000 I always agreed with that one
The line, "6:30, dinner with me. I can't cancel that again" was improvised by Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey has literally got to be the funniest man alive-
*How can someone be so whitty!??*
“EVERYONE RUN FOR YOUR LIVES I DON’T HAVE INSURANCE!!!”
I think people love the Jim Carry Grinch more then the Mike Myers Cat in the hat
Ye because it’s good
I love both 😁
Of course they do. Mike Myers butchered that role
I love both and would sell my kidneys for a cross over
Honestly though
At least Jim didn’t give some kids nightmares about a giant cat breaking into their home and destroying it
4:00 wallow in self pitty
4:30 stare into the abyss
5:00 solve world hunger
5:30 jazersize
6:30 dinner with me
7:00 wrestle with my self loathing
I'm booked! 😂
But if I push the loathing to 9:00, I could still be there in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling, and slip slowly into madness…
But what would I wear?
5 o clock solve world hunger…tell NO one
i cant cancel that !! lol
When the baby lands on the front stoop and the guy comes out to find it.
"Honey!! Our baby came! He looks just like your boss!?"

Oh, i got because in real life that would be an affair, wow I think there some jokes definitely when flying through our heads as kids. XD
Wait until you realize the old ladies who took the Grinch in were having a Swinger Party on Christmas Eve.

The most relatable line in this movie:
"Am I eating because I'm bored?"😂
Fun Fact: THat crying wasn't acting, he was just told to pretend to cry and he actaally started to because the suit he always wore was morphing into his skin painfully
The commitment he displayed in this role is incredible, also your profile pic is my phone's lock screen lol
They literally had to hire a military officer who specialized in teaching people how to resist torture to come on set and help get him through putting on the costume/all that makeup because it was so painful for him, and pushed through like a champ. He deserved all the credit for this role.
apparently he nearly gave up acting after this movie
Oh hey, that's reminds me of something.
Props to Jim Carrey for enduring the pain of the grinch makeup and still delivering this absolutely beautiful performance. One of the few movies I can quote through and through and still laugh.
I know right? While I prefer the animated cartoon from 1966, Hats off to Jim for all he endured during filming.
I don’t remember the Grinch being this iconic…
Jim Carrey for you
I do. I watched this movie even when it wasn't Christmas. I admired Jim Carrey as a kid and loved watching his films

The fact that the Whoville phone book starts

The part where he starts randomly convulsing and growling behind the partition always cracks me up.
He and Squidward would be best friends.
I will never see this as an old movie, it's too relatable!
Am I the only one that felt that when he said loathe entirely bit? I felt that. The grinch is my life in a nutshell
This movie is why Jim Carey is my favorite actor. He is so good at it and so naturally funny. This performance was awesome! 😂
This will always be my favorite Christmas movie, by far. It’s hilarious and entertaining all the way through
The main reason I adore this movie, is because the grinch is exactly how my great uncle. Acts when he plays around with us, even now that almost all of us are grown up.
I 100% relate to the part where he turns on the light on and sighs
Now this is what makes this movie so memorable and hilarious! Jim Carrey did an awesome performance XD
This may have been already commented, but it hits home when you realize it was people not Christmas he hated.

The outfit scene is too relatable
Watching The Grinch for Christmas every year is a tradition I’m always stoked for. Hands down my favorite Christmas movie :).

Reasons why I love this version. 🤣🤣
His schedule bit, such the prediction to 2020, then the “not going” for the clothes…2021.
Him going through the phone book is how I still go through my HS yearbooks
I used to have a morbid fascination with this movie as a kid. Like, the Grinch terrified me but I just couldn't look away, ya know? It's like watching a car crash. You know it's gruesome and you should *probably* look away but you just can't.

I fell that table cloth scene should've been there. You know, the one where he took the cloth off the table then went back to push everything else off
You forgot the tablecloth scene that scene was hilarious
Fun fact Jim Carrey improvised that scene
Even now I'd still believe it: either the cave where he lives in has a ghost (Ryan Shane there's a case for you) or it is *sentient*
Also I always relate to the 0:52 moment. Live's hard.
