GV hybrid range starts from Rs 21.69 in Mumbai. So, why not one will buy a petrol SUV of Rs 12 to 15. Lakh and will spend remaining amount on fuel ??

It all depends on one's requirements and preferences. Those who have higher running will go for Hybrids. We need Hybrids in Compact SUV segment too with 1.2 Ltr engines. Petrol prices won't remain stagnant always so at that time too hybrids might become practical more. In city conditions hybrids run at EV mode more and there they give more mileage too. So, not everywhere only petrol will be a good option if traffic runs at snails pace
And who knows after hpw many km new battery would be required And how much would that cost...
GST on EV is 5% then why 43% on hybrids. It should be 12% as proposed by union minister as it is petrol + electric and more suitable for indian markets as compared to EV

Hybrid city mein fuel save karti hain. Maximum power loss accelaration aur breaking mein hota hai. Yahan breaking mein regeneration hota hai aur acceleration mein electric motor se help milti hai. Hence the drop in mileage is low from claimed FE, compared to non-hybrid.

What India needs according to Indian traffic conditions is REV plug-in hybrid. A vehicle which runs 90% on battery and in longer travel or emergency on small petrol engine. Consider a Tiago eV/ punch eV fitted with 666-800 cc ICE plug in hybrid with a cost of around 13-14 lakhs.
0 to 100 in this car in 10 seconds bahut jyada ho gaya theek theek lagao isko steep flyover charhne mei saans fulti hai with 2 or 3 people also sitting in the back seat for 5.10 height person is impossible no headroom due to sunroof

I bought GV Smart Hybrid around 5 months back and I have driven my GV around 10000 km. My feedback is, GV smart hybrid average is 2 points less than whatever number they shows you on meter. On highway it gives 18 - 19 if you are driving between 90-100. In city average will be around 13-15. It's a suv for those who want a tension free vehicle. Pros: Good comfort, large cabin space, adequate power, powerful Auto ac, suspension, handling, no engine noise (its one of the cons also 😂 because sometime you get confused whether car is on or not), no vibration, and 0-100 in no time (In drag race it can beat both creta and Seltos NS peteol engines) In one full tank max distance can be covered is 750. CONS: Poor plastic quality, back seat comfort, boot space, rear doors quality, no 6th gear, average is not as good as what they advertise and after 120 engine will start struggling. I also had an accident and build quality is good, not comparable to tata but good as per maruti's standard. Overall a good decision 😊

EV makes sense only in small car fpr ex tiago strictly for city runabouts that too if ur driving daily more than 50 to 60kms after recent tax deduction on hyrbid if small cars starts getting hybrid it will hit both cng and EV cars but mostly to cover up brands will give hybrid only in top emd models thats a big factor

Need a detailed review of the tata tigor CNG AMT version.
The fact that its interior is similar to Fronx/Taisor and Baleno/Glanza is really off putting. Both the companies need to work on interiors and features like the Koreans and differenciate them with their other lower level models
Mere pas to Indica hai 2012 model 1.5 liter CR4 diesel engine. 25+ kmpl deti hai in winter with moderate AC use with driver only running on highway. 😊 Per kilometre ₹3.7 cost aata hai. 😊
Service cost needs to be applied while calculating cost per km which adds up to 75p to 1rs per km.
For ppl who travel 400kms in a stretch they usually charge at their home before leaving and while returning probably fast charger.
So avg cost per km will come down to 1.8 per km.
More than everything, EV reduces our fuel import bilk which is around 12BN USD which can add significant boost to economy
Is electricity getting generated for free. Most electricity being manufactured is with coal and that too is imported. So, if we spend here or there then too equation doesn't changes much

The problems with hybrids are high maintenance costs, while it has advantages from both peteol and evs, it also has disadvantages of both.
While EVs are practically maintenance free these ones will need more maintenance now that they have both batteries and ice engine to be maintained,.
Infact majoritybof the EVs that u hear worldwide that are catching fire are Hybrids. (Yes Hybrids come inder ev umbrella) its fusion of two very different technologies which makes it quite unreliable.
I would suggest u go for proper ice engine or proper ev, based on ur needs

The tax slab should be reduced to below 30% and more no. of vehicles to be launched within 4 Meter length category. After all hybrid is a viable alternative as compared to the EVs considering the condition of the existing EV infrastructure.

EV's are meant to be as climate change solution, but Hybrid vehicles are one of the most affordable and effective solution.
Hybrid vehicles have great future, every manufacturers musr offer hybrid version of vehicles and govt must reduce tax on hybrid from 30%( as of now) to 5%
Will TATA offer its SAFARI in hybrid version??
