This is a great pen for school. Thanks for giving them a serious review. There are some reviewers who wouldn't even touch items like these. And consequently don't know what they're missing. Increasing access to our hobby is very important,

I am a high school English teacher, and I buy these pens to tempt my students to discover the joy of writing and drawing by hand. If they can empty this pen (no small feat), make a drawing with it, and write a letter to someone with it, then I move them on to a cheap jinhao or other affordable pen with a converter and allow them to use my "ink station" at the front of the room. I am to blame for many 14 year-old kids walking around with inky fingers. I am a fan of anything that encourages a kid to write.

Excellent. Your students are lucky to have a teacher like you.

Hi Chris, is the section similar to Platinum preppy or Pilot varsity?

      Yes, similar.

What a great idea! Keep up the good work! These students will turn into adults who love to write and will remember you as the person who inspired them to.

I'd probably do the same thing, great work.

Thanks for putting such care and passion in these reviews and bringing color into our lives. Your love of fountains pens makes you treat them like luxury items, which they certainly are, especially in these days.

I purchased a pack of these pens about 2 years ago. I gave some of the pens to coworkers as Christmas gifts, and keep some in my office desk. They are handy if work takes my to a situation were O would not want to tank my better pens. What is nice is that even if they sit for a month or more, you can count on them to write without hard starting.

If you happen to pick up the Ooly Writer's Duo, it's a cheap cartridge fountain pen with that tip, and on other end is a highlighter tip that you can "hack" and refill with fountain pen highlighter ink. Been useful as a EDC pen for work, pen and highlighter in a single pen.

It is so easy in this hobby to fall into pen snobbishness, but none of it here, only the genuine love of pens!
    Thanks!

Thank you for reviewing these! I have the same 40 pack saved on my amazon shopping list. I recently jumped down the rabbit hole 🐇 🕳️ regarding fountain pens. I was thinking of getting these for work. I work in e-commerce/online order processing and in store. Each day we have a different color of ink we use to designate the days orders are on. I was thinking of getting some of these for that purpose. I may get some for work and keep the rest at home.

This pen is advertised as disposable. Is it possible to use it with a cartridge or converter?

    • @chrisrap52

No. Some have pulled out nib & refilled.

Wow! Unbelievable value! Disposable pens that write very well. 50¢ for the lot?? I bet shipping was dirt cheap, too. I wonder who made the pens and that Black ink!?

Chris, it's always a pleasure when you review low-priced pens and find their good points. Thanks. Are these pens refillable, and do they take c/c or eyedropper-fill? I've been penabling folks, and yesterday infected, I mean, converted a waitress trainee at the sports bar where my pen club met. Silly bunny-themed demonstrator rather like a Safari, but the clip looks like either a bunny head or an electric guitar. Take your pick. Another woman at our table filled the pen with green ink, very cool. The new convert sent us a thank you note. Wow! Even my daughter, the Most Precious Object in the Universe, doesn't write me thank you cards.

Experienced users have refilled these. If one does empty this pen, like the Varsity pen, it can be pried open & refilled. Not something I would do.

эти ручки можно перезаряжать. аккуратно потянуть за перо с фидером, после заправить любыми чернилами и вставить перо с фидером обратно.

Translation: These pens are rechargeable. Gently pull the pen with the feeder, then fill it with any ink and insert the pen with the feeder back.
