You continue to amaze me with the information you provided us. I have been collecting BEEHIVE BOOKS too!! I blew up my budget getting one of their Kickstarter ones. Thank you for this as always!
Ah, thank you!! I've been pretty slow getting videos out these past few months as I was unwell, but I have a huge backlog filmed so hopefully things will pick up soon :)
Yes, the first deluxe edition was really nice, I’m so glad they are giving the same treatment to the sequels! And yes, the recolored cover looks great, but the gold original looks fantastic in person too.
Ah, thank you! Best thing about being an Australian book collector is that we can choose the nicer of the US or UK options. Worst thing is overwhelmingly the brutal shipping, sigh...
I always look forward to these videos! I have both editions of the Silmarillion pre-ordered! I didn't know there were more Dune books coming out to match the Deluxe edition so I'll need to check that out, thanks for the video!
Hey Daisy! Thank you so much for another fabulous update of gorgeous books that are due to come out soonish. I have pre-ordered the Marjolein Bastin edition of Little Women which looks stunning! I have the others in this series and am head over heels crazy for them! I hope that there will be more of these in the future. I think I'll be picking up The Magic of Mina Lima because I love their stuff too and of course will be getting the Snow White book when it comes out this fall. So there isn't another Harry Potter coming from them this year?? I keep a close eye on Waterstones and Goldsboro because sprayed edges, stencilled edges and signed books have become a major obsession for me. Why this wondrous glory isn't done for books published in North America I don't know. Frustrating. I recently invested in Stephen Fry's mythology books (US editions) and also the 75th anniversary edition of Edith Hamilton's Mythology and love them all so much. I love this resurgence of interest in mythology in fiction novels and am feverishly collecting them all!!! Hope that your poor voice is recovering after narrating this post Daisy. Sending my best wishes to a fellow book lover!! Take care. Judy
Oh fantastic, and our tastes align so well 💕 I've started a video on all my favorite mythology books actually, so I look forward to the opportunity to compare (I agree the US editions of Fry's books are way better than the UK ones). There are a few more of the Bastin titles already released in German, so I'm confident we will have some more coming next year!
For me, I backed the beehive books kickstarter so will be getting lots of books from them soon. I am looking forward to the minalima books and the new Harry Potter illustrated edition. What I am doing in the mean time is slowly caring up with FS books I want to get, got some in the recent sale. Also Chronicle books Tales series I am going to get more of, just don't know when. There is also one book I am trying unsuccessfully to find, Folio Society released a limited edition of "the wanderer and other old English tales" which is from the Exeter book. It has the old english and a translation next to each other. Would love to find any other edition with the old english and translation as it is 1000's on the 2nd hand market
Awesome - the Beehive Books kickstarters are so good (except for the $100 shipping to Australia, which is why I always end up getting them when they come out for general release!). I love FS books, they are so well made, and I have all of those Chronicle Tales (in the video queue, haha), they are really nice selections. I have the original 1978 FS Exeter Riddle Book, which has some nice woodcuts and is usually super cheap 2nd hand, but it's only in contemporary English I'm afraid. FS do have a strong history of releasing their LEs in a standard edition a few years after they go out of print, so I'm hopeful we can access The Wanderer (and Alan Lee's lovely illustrations) that way in the next year or two!
I think the Chiltern Classics covers are beautiful, but I don’t care much for the glossy pages. They have a type of glare to them (I can’t quite describe the texture of the pages) and they’re not as pleasing when I read them by lamp light at night (for me). If not for this, I think I’d get the set, because the covers do look very nice.
Yes, the pages are pretty glossy - I think it's what they call a satin sheen when printing photographs - people who annotated in pencil have reported issues with this paper type as well. They are really nice looking and portable though, which works for me :)
I am so happy to see every new video of yours, thank you very much! Hope you are doing better! Also i love how the music is not covering your voice, very pleasant:) Best regards from Switzerland 🌸
Hey! Ive seen you mention The illustrated letters of Oscar Wilde before. I was thinking of maybe gifting it to someone, but I found out they happen to have The profundis, which is also a collection of letters from Oscar Wilde. Do you happen to know if they have the same content/ if they would still be able to enjoy the gift? Thanks for the great vids :)
Hi! Yes, it should be different content - the illustrated letters includes writing from across his career, with facsimiles and art and photos, with an excerpt of De Profundis.
Hi there - I have (ahem) quite a lot of books, a collection video would take foreverrrrrrrr…. Occasionally I do “bookshelf” tours for theme collections though 😀
Hope you feel better ^^ i am always looking forward for your videos and i add a million books to my wishlist 😅 But you are always my main source to know what is coming out in terms of beautiful books so thank you so much for keeping us informed
Sorry to hear you've been ill - I hope you make a full recovery soon! I binge-watched your videos during my recent bout with Covid and they provided me with much comfort, please keep them coming! =)
It's always wonderful to see a new video from you! The news about Dune Messiah and Children of Dune feels kind of bitter to me. I had asked the publishers if they have Deluxe edition for these last year and they said they don't. So I bought the Dune deluxe edition and the box set for all 6 books 😅
4:32 did I understand correctly, these will be available again for those who like the design, but are ok with not owning a limited edition numbered copy? Thanks for your video and thanks in advance for your response!
Yes, they are reprinting at least Pride & Prejudice plus adding the two Austen books that weren’t in the Seasons collection as unnumbered editions. Whether they reprint the other Austen books from the Seasons collection hasn’t been announced as it probably depends on how these three sell.

So happy to have received a new notification from your channel!! 😊 Super informative and brilliant to watch as always.😍
I really value your videos, not just to see what will come out, but to relax and unwind with. Thank you for making them with so much care.
Thank you so much, that's lovely to hear 💕
What a great UA-cam channel! I never come across such book editions from google search. Thank you!
Thanks! Hope you found some you liked :)
I still don't understand why there is no nice edition of "North and South" by Elizabeth Gaskel. Or maybe you know about some nice edition?
OMG! I was hoping more of the Dune books would be deluxed!!! I do wish the remade deluxe cover of Dune was in the box set since I prefer it.
Yes, the first deluxe edition was really nice, I’m so glad they are giving the same treatment to the sequels! And yes, the recolored cover looks great, but the gold original looks fantastic in person too.
There’s something so soothing about your videos. I love it. I also love that you’re also Australian-makes it much easier for me!

Would you consider doing a bookshelf collection video? It would be awesome for us to see your "Beautiful Books". No pun intended hehe.

Habemus video!!!
I think I just found my first Mina Lima amongst these, that Snow White looks interesting
MinaLima's interactive classics are really cleverly made, I have high hopes for the Snow White Grimm edition!
