Thank you so much! Watching your yearly video is always a gift in and of itself. This year, the book on bioluminescence and the two books on fungi captured my heart (both the nonfiction one and that self published fairytale). The squirrel book is gorgeous as well.
Thanks for the kind words, and thanks so much for sharing your picks as well (there’s just something so special about pretty mushrooms, isn’t there?) 💕
What a thrill I had when I saw your video was up! But we were in Boston about to head back home so I had to wait - absolute torture! So many gorgeous titles! I was thinking of getting the Trina Schart Hyman and you have helped me make up my mind! Yes! Those Peter Beagle's look divine - I love his work so much! I love your Folio Society choices! I'll be watching this again soon... I hope you never quit making these videos your taste is wonderful!🌟
Aw, thanks so much, you always have such lovely things to say! I’ve been loving your channel too, it’s so nice to find bookish friends to share recommendations ❤️
What lovely books! I’m adding that edition of The Great Gatsby to my wishlist. Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful additions to your library!
Hello Daisy! How are you? Well, as always your amazing and in depth review of all the beautiful books was enthralling and fun. Your hard work and enthusiasm for these yearly reports and the books featured are so appreciated and greatly anticipated. Now I know it's truly the Christmas season!! Sending love and best wishes to you and your family.
Thank you for this video. I look forward to it every year. I added seven to my wish list. My top three are The Great Gatsby, Frakenstein, and Arboretum.
The Gustave Doré one! I need it right now! I've been looking for a book like this for ages!!! I own a hideous printing of his work on the Divine Comedy, which is in desperate need of an upgrade. Thanks for this fantastic list & video!
I love your videos so much! Thank you for taking the time to make them. The most beautiful illustrated book I’ve bought this year has to be The Wind in the Willows illustrated by Chris Dunn. The illustrations are numerous and incredibly detailed, yet retain the whimsical feeling that the book deserves. Definitely worthy of your interest x
I'll definitely be adding a few of these to my collection - so many excellent editions! Did you see the Jessica Roux illustrated seasonal book The Wheel of the Year an Illustrated Guide to Nature's Rhythms? It's really lovely!
Your videos are always dangerous for my bank account😂 but this one has topped them all. Thank you for such a thoughtfully curated list of beautiful books.
thank you for posting this! i am really interested in the language books, ''snails and monkey tales'' and the ''words for happiness'' but i can't find the links in the drop down or on your website?
Thanks, I missed the Monkey Tails book on the website, am updating it now! Roots of Happiness: amzn.to/3ukOaZ7, Snails and Monkey Tails: amzn.to/3STQ4dH (US ed) / amzn.to/3uoyxA9 (UK ed)
Never mind Mariah Carey or the Coca-Cola advert…. NOW I know it’s the Christmas season ❤️❤️❤️Thank you, thank you, thank you for making videos as beautiful as the books you review.
Personally I'm praying for a surprise huge discount this week on the new Kay Nielsen Taschen that I wasn't able to pre-order because WOW!!! the original was definitely out of my budget and the Kay Nielsen: An Enchanted Vision I just got a month ago is feeling a little lonely despite my 3 copies of East of the Sun. Dr. Jean Menzies (Jean's Thoughts here on UA-cam) books are also currently in my cart Daisy, the pop-up book video sounds amazing, cannot wait for it
@@andreasplosky8516 A bit late but I did finally come through with the his res upload (I added bonus books as an apology!): ua-cam.com/video/dNWeRE2i3tQ/v-deo.html
Huh. So, I doubled checked what was going on, and it looks like I made a mistake when uploading the video, which is why it's only SD. What a bummer, so sorry :(
Love the content. Look forward to this review every year and always buy a book or 3. But I hate the music. The whistling sounds are awful. Classical would be so much better.
Thanks for dropping by to comment. I prefer classical music too, but I have to say YT make it very hard to use - the videos constantly get copyright claimed by big corporations because although I use public domain recordings of course they all sound pretty similar. It takes months to get the copyright back and meanwhile they stuff ads in the videos every minute making them unwatchable. Then the next month a new corporation will come and try the same thing again - it's so frustrating. There are a small number of pieces I can use from the YT audio bank, but I don't want to use the same music every time... Still looking for good alternatives and welcome any suggestions 💕
Thanks, yes I did! I’m already at the max number of words though 😂, so I’ll have to figure out what to change when I get home from work. In the meantime, here are the links: Snails and Monkey Tails: amzn.to/3STQ4dH (US ed) / amzn.to/3uoyxA9 (UK ed)
Thanks for the feedback - yes, YT does make adding out of copyright music much harder than it should be, unscrupulous companies constantly copyright claim classical music that has been placed in the public domain :(
Thanks for commenting. All my reviews are completely genuine. For transparency, I am frequently offered payment to review books/services and I always decline as I DON'T do promos, I only recommend books I really love that I think others might enjoy too. Recently, one particular book I liked enough I considered backing it when it was a kickstarter, but shipping to Australia was crazy expensive so I skipped it. As mentioned in that review though, I did accept a free copy from the publishers on the basis that I would provide a genuine review if I liked it. I accept only one or two review books a year (usually when it's hard for me to source locally otherwise, or if it is a finalised copy made available pre-publication so others can decide whether to preorder) - and will always state if that's how I received it. I am also happy to partner with publishers to do giveaways of books I love to others. But I will never do a paid promo, that's not my jam. All books in this particular video I paid for myself. Hope that helps clarify ❤
Even if i had to wait for 1 year. It's totally worth it❤. Just like Christmas. You are like Santa. Never stop bringing these gifts every year😊
Aw, thank you 💕
Watching your yearly videos have become one of my favorite traditions of the season. Makes me feel like a kid opening a vault of treasures.
Aw, thank you 💕
It's that time of year again! Thank you as always for these videos, can't think of a better way to start my Sunday morning.
Yay, I hope you find some titles that excite you 💕
I especially loved the Folio Society section of your video! Thank you so much for sharing.
You are so welcome! ❤️
Thank you so much for doing these videos. Such a bright spot during one of the hardest times of the year.

Yes, fingers crossed for discounts! And yes, this year’s pop-up are amazing just have to do them justice ❤️
Wonderful❤
Thanks 🤗
I am always too afraid to watch your videos 😂 Because I fear FOMO, envy, desire, and being broke!! 😅❤
Ahhh, you'll have to blame the publishers, not me! 💕😂 Lovely to hear from you, you'll have to let me know what your favourites were this year!
Would it perhaps be possible to publish your videos in a higher resolution?
Yes, I uploaded this at low resolution by mistake. I'm going to reupload it at higher resolution later this month (with some bonus books).
@@BeautifulBooks Thank you.

wonderful video, why only 480p though? 😢
Hello! You mean video resolution? You should be able to set it to high res so you can see the books up close 😀

Love looking at the books but would rather no music than the awful repetitive muzac that I presume is supplied off UA-cam's allowed list!
