- After a full day of exploring in the last video, we went out to explore Duhok Kurdistan during the night. It did not take long to find out how enjoyable this city is and how kind the people are. From going to a jacket store, to all of the food that arrived to our table when we sat down, they offered it all for free! This is part of the Kurdish culture as a gesture of hospitality which I find to be such a unique and nice way of doing business. (Of course I still paid though!) I never imagined see that kind of city in Iraq! I'm surprised to see their inhabitants so friendly, the life in that city look how they never had had a war. The stores, new houses, the cars, OMG the most of the cars look brand new, how they could keep their city out of the war consequences or destruction? I admire them. I would like to visit that region in the future for sure.
Kurdistan stayed safe throughout all the years of the wars and terrorist attacks. Mainly because Kurdish citizens quickly report anything suspicious to the security forces. Also, while most Kurds are quite conservative/religious, our version of Islam is mostly non-political and focused on ethics and values, while that of Arabs is very politicized (anti-America, anti-Israel, Sunni vs Shia...etc.). There are many others factors, but yeah, even Arabs from Iraq are surprised by the security situation in Kurdish cities.
Please next time replace your (Iraq) with (Kurdistan) it’s offensive to Kurds.

@@jmariocavazos No don't worry kurdish people really exaggerate things on the internet , but yes kurdistan is an autonomous region of Iraq and it's better than Iraq basically in everything but there's still no need for all of their comments ,anyways in regular Iraq there are many good people who love the country but sadly there are also so many disloyal people who want nothing but to destroy the country .

I went to duhok for vacation over the summer for 2 months good thing you went later in the year it’s way to hot in the summer.
I'm also really surprised at the shops and city it's quite modern I wasn't expecting it to be like that in Iraq especially after the war. It's a nice happy surprise 😊

As someone born and raised in Duhok, I welcome you.
The thing about Duhok is that it's a boring, safe ass city, man. I always say that it's a place best for someone who wants to retire and settle. It's super safe, walkable from start to finish (mostly), and the people here are some of the kindest, most honest, and generous ever. Some of the downsides of this city are that it stinks, because of all the factories are built so close to it, power generators in urban areas, and too many cars. Like way too many. And the people have a habit of just not caring about the environment all that much. There's trash everywhere. Even in rural areas, especially the rural areas.
There's a bit of everything in Duhok. There's old cozy tea houses, fancy-schmancy cafes and restaurants, pool houses, bowling alleys, malls, etc. But of all places, the outskirts of the city is where it's at. Clean air, not much noise, or light pollution, and great views. And another thing is that Duhok is not all that pretty to look at, but dammit the vibe is great here.

Seeing your vids from Lebanon and Iraq makes me sad because I miss Syria the place that I was born in. Moved to Turkey in 2013 then Sweden in 2015 and I have been living in Sweden since then, never been to Syria since I left it. You would love the culture, people, food and the landmarks but more then 50% is destroyed. For a foreign it's easy to fly to Syria, for me I would be dragged direct from the airport to serve in the military🤷♂️ people are so simple🙏, governments and leaders are dictators🤨
