  • It's been four months since the Taliban swept to power in Afghanistan, something they did faster than anyone anticipated. Since August, they have had to make a rapid transition to running the day-to-day business of a struggling state. From Kabul to the Taliban stronghold of Kandahar and the mountainous Wardak province, our team have witnessed the grim reality of Taliban rule. FRANCE 24's senior reporters Catherine Norris Trent and Roméo Langlois bring us this exclusive full-length documentary.

Follow the language. There are 2 main languages in Afghanistan - Pashto and Persian (Dari). whenever you hear complains in the documentary - their main language is Persian. whoever praises Taliban - they speak Pashtu.
This is what missing in this documentary. To understand the conflict, you need to go back in history and understand how these 2 factions came to be.
My father is Pashtun and tells me all the stories about the reality of the situation which is absent in almost all documentaries available to date... in short, these 2 factions will never see a mutual ground until one control's the other.

4:54 breaks my heart! As a dad of 3 amazing daughters, 2 of my babies I was blessed to be able to adopt them asked by them and just want to give them the Loving father and Securitty they deserve,..this poor angel who’s lost her entire family I’d adopt in a heart beat and get her to America to a Loving family and a future she could thrive in, college and profession etc, wish there was some government site where children like her, females especially (becasue they have NO future in Taliban Afganistan) where westerners could put in to bring them to America and adopt into a loving family! If ever she sees this post somehow or someone that knows of any government official sites that can be trusted and vet’d for something like this please reply to my comment. These girls thst are destined to be abused by Taliban and kept from education, happiness, and a life in general DESERVE ALL OF THAT AND MORE! 💜

I thought the same thing. She reminds me of my daughter, just a bit younger. Her eyes fill with pain as they ask her to recite her brothers names as if they were sacred martyrs. Sadly, they were just in the wrong village at the wrong time, and I wouldn't be the LEAST BIT surprised to learn her family was used as human shields by taliban fighters. And yes, I know taliban is a proper noun... I just refuse to dignify it with a capital "T".

These children and young ladies are part of that culture not of a western culture so they will adopt and will live by the rules of that culture or strive to change it but it's up to them.
