This is what I did years ago and it is effective as hell in Junior tournaments. But before I go for the Uchimata, I always use De Ashi Harai/Sasae or Harai Tsurikomi to make opponent lift his feet and once he lost his balance pull the right arm of his and spin his head and go for the uchimata. Even if the uchimata fail and he go for Uchimata Gaeshi, I go for Osoto Gari.
Thank you for demonstrating this variation. A lot of wrestlers and BJJ guys do this type of low stance and this seems to be a great variation. Much love!
Hi, i have seen many of your videos and i really like the details and execution of your instructions, i was wondering which throws to work on when i am a big slow and strong guy? Thank you for your awesome Vids!
Believe it or not, quite a few throws will work for you. An important factor is to control the grip and make sure to be in close with your hips to your opponent in what is called a "short grip." Look at our videos on this. Cross-body O Soto Gari, Ura Nage and the Uchi Mata shown here with a leg style application are useful for large athletes. I also think Tsuri Goshi is an excellent throw for a large person.
Thank You for this! I spar with a guy in Judo who adopts that bent over posture. In Judo competition, someone bent over that way will pick up penalties won't they?
That's correct. Bending over in judo is considered passive and an overly defensive posture. If the referee is a good one, he will penalize bending over pretty quickly.

That's a nice series Neji!
Excellent, thanks! Been looking for a good instructional video on this for a while! 👍👍👍

Glad you like it Russ! Thanks for your support of our channel.
i do bjj and hate when people do this
Great video. One risk I see with the back grip is you leave no barrier to an opponent's single leg.
Really effective variation! Thanks as always guys!
Glad you like it Adrian!

This version is a faster and easier way of executing Uchimata. It's not "traditional", bit it's EFFECTIVE.
I agree. This application of Uchi Mata is really easy for beginners to learn and is very effective.
Is it hard to skip in for entry if uke is stiff arming you and bent over.
We have a video on that situation. Check out our Uchi Mata videos.
Just pull and push him and make him lift his feet with ashi harai and go for the uchimata, if fail go to Ko Uchi or Osoto Gari.
Smart move
Glad you like it! Thanks for your comment.

@@welcomematstevescott OK, Thank You for your response. I will definitely try this version out. It looks quicker than the traditional uchi mata.
