Great to see a review from an actual owner who simply uses and enjoys his car. Can’t wait for mine to arrive in the middle of next month! Keep the honest content coming!
You should definitely read the manual since that is not traction control off. You need to hold the button longer and then when the expert dissapears it's off.
Crazy the angry howling of this tiny little engine reminds me a little bit of an Lamborghini V12. It is really amazing. Love this little Machine and thanks for the Video!
I picked mine up a couple days ago and went for my first proper drive yesterday. Totally agree with everything you said, everything about it is so addictive!
I'm enjoying mine too, have almost 4k km on it already. A quick visit to the dealer took care of the (rather intrusive) brake assist system, it's permanently switched off now. Now it's 'only' the lane departure plus the 2 or 3 buttons in the centre console to be set upon getting into the car. Win!
1:32 "...when you first get a brand new car... you're not interested in reading the manual..." well Toyota makes me wait for more than a year for the car, so after watching every single YT video out there about it, I download and read the manual :) So glad you're enjoying the car, I like your reviews a lot!
Anyone else think that engine sounds a bit like a Aventador? I mean slightly muffled like it’s 3 cars up in traffic but I just can’t I un hear it! I wish this came in that flat battleship grey colour, that would be sexy!!
Great review,no Blowing smoke up the manufacturers arse, just enthusiastic appreciation of the cars good points and honest personal opinion on it's look.
Exactly ! No need to have a loud exhaust where the cops can hear you coming miles away, the GR-4 is a matter of personal pleasure, which can be shared with your favorite passenger, but that's it. Thanks for the updated review, very enjoyable.
I have to say that I really do appreciate seeing Jason on the channel from time to time, I like his affection for lower budget rally and homologation cars as he brings a nice contrast !
Fantastic review. My first, and now subscribed! Tracked this down after seeing Harry Metcalfe’s GR review. Would seriously consider one of these despite running a car costing well over twice as much. This little car is going to become a cult classic. Well done Toyota!

No, the lane keeping assist is turned off permanently in the menu on the dash. The lane departure warning (the beeping) however needs the button on the steering wheel. Feels like an aftermarket narrower rear view mirror could help with visibility. The touch screen is annoying, they could have used a smaller one. I like the styling, looks ready to rally (so to speak).
Just FYI, Expert mode allows a more relaxed stability control, but it does not disable it completely. You need to hold the button down for five seconds or so in Sport or Track mode to disable the stability control.
