If only they'd spent as much time on the lip sync
If every dialogue has lip sync, then the data would be heavier
And probably the price for the game got increased
I'm not asking for cinematic lip sync, but as it is it's uncanny valley levels of off. The lips move at complete random as long as a character is suppossed to be talking, even if they pause the lips keep going. I haven't seen lip sync this bad in any game since a crappy Rescue Heroes game which did this but the lips moved hilariously slowly. Look at other games which have too much dialogue to realistically sync manually like Fallout or other open world games. It's not convincing or realistic but at the same time it doesn't draw you out. This is like watching a dubbed anime but it's in the same language. It's shit like seeing Iggy's mouth flop up and down while growling that takes you out combined with the akward pauses as you accept dialogue that make this the only game where I can't stand to watch the cutscenes on UA-cam despite how interested I am in the story. They spent so much effort bringing all the voice actors together, writing and recording mountains of dialogue with unique interactions between characters with lots of creativity and fanservice, accurately recreating all the best moves so that you can tell this was made by real Jojo fans, and yet they drop the ball so spectacularly in one area that the game becomes unwatchable for me. If you're going to go through as much effort as they clearly did they should have put some of their time into a passable lip sync

@@martixak Syncing so many lines of so many people (even ones that didn't make the cut) is hella tough. And they didn't just do it for story mode, some synced intros made the cut too. I'd honestly love to see the attempt fully realized like in ASB, but hey, we can't always have so much attention to detail that TV Tropes would have to make a seperate page for the "Developer's Foresight" section.
