  • A 2 miss (+2 auto AS) run of DLW on Normal mode.
This game has many blind killers due to its pattern complexity and gimmicks, but many of the patterns end up much easier with some simple routing and strategizing. This video aims to showcase almost all of those strategies that I have developed over the course of testing this game and hopefully will be a useful resource for those of you going for a Normal 1cc or higher. Some strategies and routes are also applicable in higher difficulties
The actual best team for a 1cc is likely to be Marisa/Yuuka due to both of their ASes providing tangible survival benefits, but you will have to take on a much tougher Stage 4 boss. I've seen people complain about how difficult the Sanae/Sejia fight is, but honestly it is the easiest Stage 4 fight out of the 6.
Additional notes for particular patterns will be written in the comments.

Start of stage 4: This is one of the best places in the game to get a easy AS for score. When the purple spirits show up, bomb and graze all the aimed purple bullets to see your AS meter shoot up to a ridiculous amount. Then avoid getting hit for the rest of the stage to get a massive boost to your PIV, allowing you to get additional extends.
    Stage 5 Midboss (Nunokae)
Non: Kind of hard to explain but the lasers are completely static, and there are places with big gaps. You can develop a route to make the feathers aim away from those gaps as well.
Spell: If you're not comfortable with doing vertical streaming like with PCB Extra/Phantasm midboss, you can still opt to do horizontal streaming, but pay some attention to how far out the wings flap to not get sniped by one of the bullets flying out from them.
    Stage 5 Boss (Kiseki)
Non 1: The white cloud is just the effect for bullets spawning in; it has no hitbox! If you know about the safespot for BoWaP in Touhou 11, it's the same thing. All you really need to do is to sidestep before the cloud turns into a bullet.
Spell 1: This is one of the hardest patterns in the game and I will admit it is much too difficult for Normal players to pull off (and i raised it during testing multiple times to no avail xd). However if you simply bomb it twice during the spin it kind of ends up not having anything on screen.
Spell 2: Just make sure that you move right instead of left at the start of the spell. If you don't feel confident dealing with the aimed bullets from hitting the blue saws, you can choose to stop shooting when they're on screen.
Spell 3: I can't offer much advice other than practicing it for consistency. The sprite for the wood blocks give a bit more leniency than they look.
Spell 4: For Normal, all you need to do is to avoid hitting the blue saws at the side with your shots. You don't have to cut across the grey saws when they come down if you do what I did.
Spell 5: Try not to wall yourself in between the kunai walls and lasers, and take note to stream the aimed blue bullets as well.
    Stage 6
I made a mistake with being too greedy to kill the spirits and cornered myself. Just uh, take your time lol
    Stage 6 Boss (Aimi)
Non 1: If you stay fairly close to Aimi and find an angle where the colored bullets aren't, then most of the grey butterflies will miss you and you'll be completely safe.
Spell 2: Do what I did in the video and misdirect all the crystal balls into one horizontal line. This makes all the of the crystals they fire line up neatly to dodge.
Spell 3: Make sure you kill all the blue shapes since they're the only real source of difficulty. After the screen reshaping, move to one edge of the screen (bottom edge is simplest) and you'll see that the yellow lasers become much more limited in their aiming angles, allowing you to dodge all of them simply by sidestepping.
Spell 4: As long as you steer very clear of the randomly cbanging bullets and follow the same route each time you should have no issues here.
Spell 5: As long as you can roughly remember the angle relative to the center you were when the switch occurs, the spell becomes considerably easier.
Spell 6: Another actually very difficult pattern. If you have the attention to spare, you could take note of the nearest heart's location to predict the arrows' movement ahead of time. Also, the third time that the arrows go towards the hearts, you need to stick to the left side of the given space or you'll get run over by lasers like I did.
TLB Spell: Remember that you can bomb on this spell at any time, and that it drops quite a lot of power items. Don't die unnecessarily here. The very first phase uses Reimu's AS, which grants invincibility when you're below the AS line, so just stick to the bottom of the screen for survival.

Update: With the release of v1.00b several stage sections and boss patterns took significant nerfs. Most notable is unquestionably Stage 5 which is now far simpler than before.
The purple arrowhead walls were removed from the first streaming section, making that section incredibly spacious and much easier, and the orbs that fire splitting crystal lines now split to a much lesser angle, allowing for far more room for error in those sections.
Also Kiseki's first spell was nerfed really hard to the point where it might feel too simple and I'm glad for it.
