UPDATE: These pans will be available on **April 7th.** At the moment you need a special code, but they will be available for everyone April 7th. I got mine a few days early but, of course, still paid for it myself. I will update the sales link and let everyone know when they are available for everyone.
Would LOVE to see your entire pan collection!! I can’t imagine having that many pots and pans and use them all.
I would like to see how you store your pans.
I would just like to add something in relation to the handle/ergonomics. I have both the Mineral B pro 9" and Mineral B Pro 9" Omelette. Even though the pan is shallower on the Omelette, the handle is at a different angel and overall, is over 1" taller than on the regular fry pan. I love them both, just an observation.
A thing of beauty! Can’t wait for your first cook and seasoning video. Glad they’ve arrived, time to order one
Can't wait for the seasoning and first cook video. I have no doubt it'll pass the egg test with flying colors so I'm hoping to see a unique omelette recipe after the egg test. Something with unexpected ingredients that tickle the imagination, perhaps?
I have the original mineral B omelette skillet, but now I want that SS handled one. Wife may throw a fit, but we definitely need it lol. Thanks Uncle Scott!
Buy a few. You’ll love them. Keep in mind your first order is 15% off and it’s free shipping over $100. So the 11” would cost $102. That’s a very nice deal.
Beautiful pan! I’ve been waiting for this too! Thank you 😊
AWESOME!! Can't wait for more
Is there any reason this couldn’t replace a standard pro skillet? Anything a skillet can do versus this omelette pan?
They just got re-stocked today; I picked up the 9.5 inch and can’t wait to receive it!
nice Buck knife
Looks like a Buck 110
Been waitin' to see this! Excellent!
nice unboxing. looking forward to seasoning and first cooks in the pan. i have a lodge cast iron chef pan i like to cook owlets in as they flip easily. good to hear that you dont think that it will warp. my carbon steel pan became a spinner so i seldom use it on my glass cooktop. seriously contemplating switching to gas/propane
Awesome👍👍i just got mine
I bought a mineral b pro on your recommendation as my first carbon steel pan. Very happy with it
Love ya man!!! Keep the vids coming
looking forward to the in-depth review of your new de buyer.
I just ordered one and I got a free B bois flexible turner with my purchase thank uncle Scott for the video
Congrats Uncle! Looking forward to see your next videos with this pan. 😄👍
I'm on my fifth cooking of eggs already... going nicely so far.
I am eager to see your full review of this pan and a comparison with the smaller omelette pan. 11" seems a little big for a typical two or three egg omelette to me though. Any plans for cooking anything other than eggs in this pan?
I really want one! I'm new to carbon steel, but already a convert.
After watching your test of the Matfer Bourgeat black carbon steel pan and how it became uneven on induction stove, i waited for the improved pan to go on sale and may have missed the info about it. pls repeat what Matfer did and which pan it affected. thank you
Hi Uncle, nice pan. Could please inform the flat cooking surface diameter? It appears a bit smaller than on the frying pans.
Love the handle shape, stripe handle is great for professional kitchens but for home kitchen it could be bit painful
NICE
Can you review the Bare Cookware carbon steel pan 28 cm? It is case-hardened under heat and pressure with nitrogen. Resistant to rust. Thank you.
which size is better for Omelette and egg ? 9.5 inch or the 11 inch ??
Once the pan is seasoned and is dark, what color would a paper towel be if you rub it in the pan? I'm trying to understand what to expect from my pan. Thanks in advance.
I’m super sad that they don’t have three pro in 26cm which has the perfect sie for my electric stove.
Now I ordered the normal mineral b as I didn’t want to go down to 24cm.
Sadly I won’t be able to season it in the oven
I just got this exact pan on Facebook for $30. Can't wait to start using it
$30 new? Send me a link!
@UncleScottsKitchen it's was on Facebook marketplace from someone local to me that was selling off some of their extra pans 😁
Is there a difference between an omelette pan and a crepe pan?
A Mineral B is likely going to be my next pan. Everyone raves about them.
Have you seen Santa Barbara Forge pans? Saw one on another channel and it looks really nice. Really like the hammered look and handle. I’d be interested to see your thoughts on one
I never had heard of them but just looked them up. Pretty sweet looking pans! If I ever do a video on small producers I will try to get them in.
is the bottom flat? vs Lodge where it is concave and walks on flat surface? 3mm? is pretty thin- Great video - thanks
The bottom on mine has a very slight upward bow, but not as pronounced as the one on the Lodge.
Uncle Scott I have a matfer carbon steel pan that i have had for about 2 months now. It is non stick when I fry eggs on their own, but when I cook bacon before the eggs always stick. Is this a me problem or do I need to clean the pan after cooking the bacon. Thanks
I don't think there is anything wrong. Bacon is one of the worst offenders when it comes to leaving some gunk in the pan. Steaks/burgers/chicken kind of do the same thing but bacon is the worst. Might be better to get two pans going.
Is this available to public yet? I didn’t see it on the website
Talked to De Buyer: April 7 is the day.
Do you know if all the Pro-Mineral B omelette pan sizes will be 3mm?
For the new Pro models, the 11" one that I have is 3mm thick and the 9.5" is 2.5mm thick. It should be fine for the narrower ones to be 2.5... the wider ones need to be thicker to mitigate warping I think.
That gonna make a giant omelette
Are the De Buyer Mineral B pans oven safe in general?
The Pro models are oven safe; the regular models are only for "flashing" or finishing food int he oven for ten minutes or so, but not for longer cooking or seasoning.
@@UncleScottsKitchen Thank you. I wasn't totally sure. I guess I'll be buying the pro model next. I looked on their website and saw they have a 2 piece set. I might get that. BTW, I'll be watching a lot more of you videos. I really enjoy them.
Can anyone tell me if I can use carbon steel pan with a mexican sauce and beef? I know tomatoes are a no.
Depends on what is in it... if it's got lime juice, lemon juice, acidic ingredients, the acid will eat at your seasoning. Can always use a stainless steel for the sauce.
Unfortunately that pan isn’t available to purchase through the links or anywhere else it seems so far
Talked to De Buyer: April 7 is the day.
$120 is quite pricy! It's one of the rear cases when something is much more expensive in US than in EU. At the official French web-shop of De Buyer it costs just 80 euro.
slobber slobber drip drool.
Baveuse!
The de Buyer website is asking for a password when trying to look at the new pro version omelette pan :( any idea when it will be available for everyone to buy?
I'll find out
@@UncleScottsKitchen Same problem
Working now 👍🏼
clap clap clap
I hear it in my head!
Yes, let's metric. Imperial is silly and obtuse. When I was in college in the last century, the Fed giveamint was committed to converting. It would probably make a great movie script to tell the story about how the conversion was perverted.
I think you have to learn it from childhood or else it never makes sense. For me, if someone says "it's a 28 cm pan" then i have to figure out how big that is, but if someone says "it's 11 inches" then I know without having to do any mental estimating. It would be reversed had I grown up in Europe.
Scott, can you do a review of the D3 everyday from all clad vs the classic D3 and or D5...
It's their competition for direct sales brands and the pricing is very good but not sure if the new handle design and such is a worth while compromise to save some money
That sounds like a good video and I will put that on The List!
Imperial makes more sense to you but it doesn’t make more sense. Having grown up with both, metric is just better. That’s why every country on earth except the United States, Myanmar and Liberia use it. Even England is mostly metric these days.
I'm just glad we don't have a metric dozen for doughnuts because I like the full twelve instead of ten.
@@UncleScottsKitchen You can thank the (very metric) French for the word “dozen” (douzaine) in the English language and the fact that it is always 12 items comes from the Latin “duodĕcim” meaning 12. Has nothing to do with imperial or metic though. Predates both.
What you really need is a “Baker’s dozen”. 13 doughnuts. Like “Spinal Tap”, it’s one more 🤤
