    I bought Fibaro motion sensor z-wave plus , it doesn’t work with homey bridge

    Hey Homey.
    I’m using my homey bridge in my boat. Works perfect!
    But my homey app thinks my boat is my home, and the naming of the rooms are all wrong. Is this something you can look into? 😊
    I guess this is also a problem for cabins.

    Like all you videos, homey and fibaro are a great combo. Will upgrade to walli outlet. So hope there will be a video for homey and walli what is possible and programming buttons.

    Now I understand why the Fibaro girl has such a strange accent. And why the products seems smart and has alot of possibilities.. that just itsn complete in the end when you stand with the product and want to use it. My favorite is absolutely Eve.. which is crazy nice and expensive..

    Who doesn't like a red shiny button? :p I can imagine it be ideal for emergency type situations, like in the kitchen. If something goes wrong and the smoke alarm hasn't been activated yet. You press on the red button, the (fire) alarm goes off, all lights turn to the brightest white, the curtains and or blinds go open and perhaps even the windows open to ventilate. That does need to be a very reliable button then though, which it might not be according to this video. Came here while looking for a good smoke detector to incorporate in my Homey system. The Fibaro looks promising. Going to check whether Homey has a video about smoke detectors now. If not, please do ;-)

      Hey Alexander, thanks for the tip on a video for smoke detectors! These are relatively simple, so even without a video you should be able to figure out a few great Flows for Smoke detectors. 👍

      @@homey True true. Just in the last minute of ordering a few, I found out however that that specific model does not allow to use for instance the siren in case of a burglary. My idea of Homey is that you can link all kinds of stuff together, but of course the products need to allow such things. Now I really don't know which are the best to buy. Anywho, another exploration ahead and this time with realising that not every function can be used in every product.

      @@alexanderpasnl Make sure to check out our App Store (homey.app/apps/), the App pages are made interactive, so you can select a device listed on the App page, and then you will be able to see the unique available Flow cards for that specific device. This is the best way to preview the capabilities of a certain device with Homey Flows before you purchase it.
      Quick tip - you can use Sonos speakers to play Alarm sounds if you have those. (might be a nice excuse to get a pair) 😉

    Only using Fibaro roller shutter. Be warned they are small, but i could not fit it behind the original controller and had to add an extra box next to my normal roller shutter to hide it.

    Good video, thanks! Was missing the Fibaro dimmer 2 though. Is that recommended as well?

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому +1

      Currently, a separate video on Fibaro's built-in / invisible modules is in the planning. We'll likely be looking at the Dimmer 2, along with the Smart Implant, Walli, and some other Fibaro choices. So stay tuned for that! :)

    Hi Alex. Thank you for this and other videos. When I change an advanced setting in the Fibaro device, Homey mentions settings will be saved during the next automatic wakeup. How can i see if the queued settings have arrived at the device?

    Can the internal parameters of these sensors be set? like the sensitivity etc ..?

    • @homey
      @homey  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Alessadro, Fibaro sensors do have a series of options that can be set in the Homey App. Sensitivity, time-out, light modes, etc. Depending on the device, there are a number of settings. Be advised that after changing these settings, you need to put your sensor into 'learn' mode so that these are saved on the sensor itself. There are instructions in the App on how to do this.

    I would like to see you guy's recommendations for actually setting up a Homey system with reliable components. For me, one of the most important features of a switch or thermostat is that it is compatible with a standard 55 wall box and frame.
    For example light switches, the heatit zpush lineup is great and has a nice button press, however it has a very loose fit in a standard 55 frame, which renders it useless when used in a frame with other components

      Hey Fredrik, thanks for the suggestion! We do have videos like this in the planning, as you can imagine, wall boxes, wiring, installation, are difficult topics to cover. Hopefully we will have some videos covering these more detailed topics soon.

    Hi, in the video you mentioned that its possible to expect higher prices on Z wave productos compared to zigbee. Why is this exactly? i have been checking prices and they are really more expensive!

    • @homey
      @homey  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Lucas, the main difference is that Zigbee is more of an open platform solution, and Z-Wave is more closed / licensed, meaning higher prices for the Z-Wave chips etc. However, as I mention in the video, Z-Wave has its advantages, and it's considered the more stable smart home network of the 2 types.

    Hey Alex, could you in simple words explain if this button can be set to trigger send SMS or make Facetime call via iPad, if so, how to do that? Please don't refer to Fibaro help centre, they are not responding. Thank you

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому

      Hey Igor, Good question. I'd suggest taking a look at using the button together with a 'Siri Shortcut' (ua-cam.com/video/ukfg5u2-xDk/v-deo.html). If you have the button connected to Homey, you can install the homekit community app - homey.app/a/com.swttt.homekit/. This makes the devices you have connected to Homey, also available to Homekit. Then you can use the button as a trigger for a Siri shortcut which could send an SMS or initiate a FaceTime call if you desire, along with other iOS specific actions. Hope this helps! :) Let me know if that worked for you.

      It is possible to make them appear on Homekit if you wish, there is a community app available that does just that.
