The Jordan Poyer clip is a big learning piece. Handling space is sometimes a problem.

I have a Master of the Basics Part I video on my channel. Check it out. It's a good place to start.

Always the hips, the feet move to fast and can change with the hips, if it goes one way that’s where the receiver going . I normally look at the belly button area or a stain on the pants or shirt. Just find something that doesn’t move near the hip area and lock in on it you’ll be a step ahead every time

So for the bills raiders one, it’s ok to weave in the end zone ? Because I know your not supposed to backpeddle but is weaving ok?

Personal opinion, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with backpedaling in the end zone just the midst associated with it. Backpedaling makes you think “oh shit I gotta get back”. I think where weaving differs is it’s focus isn’t maintaining space as much as maintaining leverage. Read step back pedaling or inch back holds the same mentality of remaining aware of the proximity to the end zone and giving yourself space to work but not offering the goal line on a silver platter.

Weaving is a backpedal and I would prefer a catch technique but Poyer was more than 5 yards off so playing catch would lead to contact and a potential foul because of the NFL rules. If you are at the college or HS level you can play or scooch technique in that situation.

Yes! Great comment. You can weave in that end zone situation but at a slow pace because the end line is right behind you and acts as a defender.
