  • Tweetsie Railroad: Heritage Weekend 2021 Part 3. Every August, Tweetsie Railroad holds their annual Railroad Heritage Weekend. With lots of activities for railroad buffs, railfans, and any individual who loves trains. The main attraction is both of Tweetsie's narrow gauge steam locomotives running along side each other. #12 "Tweetsie" and #190 "Yukon Queen."
#12 had a complete makeover for the event:
She was wearing what they call the "boiler tube" pilot instead of her usual cow catcher.
    The smokebox was painted black.
The entire locomotive looked like it was cleaned from coupler to coupler.
And of course, #12's smokestack was raised back to its original height. (if you look closely, you can see the weld marks of what its height was prior to heritage weekend)
Part 3 will consist of the main attraction for that Sunday, the doubleheader. After that, it'll be the coupling process for #12 to coach 5 and the flat car, then a few of the final runs for the day.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of narrow gauge steam at its finest with Tweetsie Railroad's Heritage Weekend!
