My dad had a warehouse space on the river back in the 60s. I remember going there with him when he needed to pick up supplies. My parents had postage stamp machines at the Westgate mall back in the 60s. You'd insert your coin and out would come postage stamps. Us kids loved to ride on the little "fair" machines set up at Westgate. The chair swing ride would fling you up and over river (ha ha ha... at least it seemed that way to us kids). My favorite was always riding the horses on the merry-go-round
I was on the internet trying to find something to do around Ashville, NC and found this video. I now know there are many attractions thanks to this video. Thank you
Police shortages, rampant crime, drugs and homelessness. My home town has turned into a hell hole. Locals stay out of down town. It lives up to it's reputation as San Franciso east! Black Mountain, Brevard and Hendersonville are still nice.
Asheville NC was once our favorite destination, now all we read and hear is that it is no longer a safe place to visit or hike! Crime, homelessness, drugs, it’s Sad and Tragic !!!!
Most of the police quit. Crime happening during the day. 2 police cars set on fire and city council members car was destroyed smashed windows and tires. Antifa there.

Black Mountain will probably change for the worse, loads of brain-dead liberals there and they can't even answer what is a woman.

Dang you don’t like anything fun.
Weaverville just out of Asheville is real bad. No fun no more.
Stay out of downtown Asheville! It’s gotten very dangerous. Not a place you want to visit.
Yes, of course it's not the same as it was in the 60s and 70s.
So not a place to move to with my family from Texas
You gotta be kidding

Did the Vanderbilts have slaves? The large estate? Who built it? Who built it more?
The Civil War ended in 1865. Construction on the Biltmore began in 1889; so no slavery was used to build it.
