OMG Laser 60w MOPA fiber laser unboxing and review!

This our new OMG Laser 60 watt mopa fibre laser. I am pretty impressed with it so far, it was super easy to setup and was pretty much ready to go out of the box. I have the same machine, Its amazing!
But, start using a focal stick as soon as you can, alot more accurate.

You really should put a box around that unit with the correct laser filter glass for the band of that laser (should be ~1000-1100 nm)or have everyone in the building wear the correct laser safety glasses. The reflections off the part can do a lot of damage to the old eye holes over time. I ended up with a S.I.C unit that has a pneumatic auto door just as my kids are always at the shop and love running the laser. It was pretty expensive but I knew there was no chance in keeping them from looking at the pretty bright light and wear the dam glasses all the time.

McMaster-Carr (and probably cheaper places) have hand wheels in a bunch of sizes with folding handles like that Z axis one.
