You must have truly blessed friends for you and them to do the tour then wait for you at the vehicle’s while you do a second visit and film it god love them… once again I must say the sound of your footsteps on the dirt makes me want to head south .. I can smell the pine’s and the juniper and the heat thank you man keep it up
WOW! Thanks for a trip down Memory lane. Memorial Day weekend 2009 my Buddy Dan & I got a tip from some other guys who were riding Dual Sport motorcycles at the gas station we were filling up at that we should try to get up to the “ Log Cabin Mine” if we wanted to see something special . With only somewhat sketchy directions we embarked early the next morning, and after about a 2 hr ride through some of the most beautiful trails and a lot of snow we finally reached it. There was still 2 to 3 ft drifts in the area & we spent most of that day just poking around like you in this video . The miner’s time cards were still in a rack in one of the buildings we entered & the roof of the actual log cabin looked to have been in a little better shape than what I just watched , and the main shaft hadn’t begun to collapse as I saw it here, but almost everything else is still as I remember it, Ingersoll Rand air compressors, old G.E. & Westinghouse motors, ball mill , and Huge Wheel like thing laying out on slight hillside just North of mine. And those Views from up there😳. We rode just a bit North on a faint trail we found and suddenly found ourselves with a 270 degree 100 plus mile distant view of a certain area & a certain lake that I greatly appreciate you keeping the name out of your video so as to keep this Gem alive on the mountain top.. Thank you .👍. Oh , on a bit of a humorous side note , DO NOT eat Oatmeal & bran muffins with Coffee & some Fruit before trying to ride Motorcycles up to this mine, you may have to stop along the way to “ Dodge off into the bushes “ a few times😆😜. One of our more memorable rides & trips …..👍. Really enjoyed this one & in your own parting words , “ Stay safe while out exploring” , you just never know what you may find. Thanks, Steve Miller & “ Diesel Dan” Deaton . Of course I just sent this link to my Buddy Dan to watch as well. Happy trails & Happy 4th of July weekend . 😊
@@ExploringCabinsandMines can you please tell me we’re this is so I can take my two grandkids up there. It’s amazing to see something like that that’s still equipped with all the big machinery
Wowser! I know you had to be in your true element with this trip. I'm speechless with the findings and grateful to be invited. The music ends this well. Thank you ; )
This is awesome. Thank you very much for sharing this with the rest of the world. I prolly wont ever get to go in person before it rots, but I got to see it today. Thanks.
Your exploring of this is top notch love all the detail that you give us all I do rember seeing this on TVR about a year ago the detail of you both is a super discover as we tag along to a very impressive mining area ⛏️🇺🇸🏆thank you.
This is an epic video. This is beyond cool, as a modern day underground miner i love the old mines of the past i also explore underground old mines. To still see that much equipment still in place and not destroyed. its like the miners just left. Thank you.
Wow, wow. What a gem. A special treat to watch after work today. Thank you! Can't believe how much is still there. Sad parts are not long for the world as the shaft is collapsing. Gad you were able to record this before its gone. Can really imagine what it was like back then. Happy 4th to you from AZ
Thank you for this video documenting a big scale mining operations. These are places I can't get to anymore. Suggestions.... Can you move the camera more slowly. It was making me dizzy. Also... I'd like to see some of the manufacturer's information on nameplates or on the castings. It's an important part of history.
U were right - that site is awesome. So many questions. What elevation is that at? I’m thinking lots of snow during the winter. How many people working at that site? I’m thinking lots. Thanks for the tour.
What a spectacular view. This was truly amazing to see. All the machinery is just fascinating to see. Love seeing all the big gears and such. Thanks this was an amazing place to see.
I've been doing remote site videos since the 80's for geotechnical engineering firms when the cameras were as big as a suitcase. You REALLY need to get some decent lighting!
where in california were you at when you video recorded this? I like the type of country you were in. Do you care to share where you were at?I l,oved the old bnuildings you were exploring. have you ever wrote a book on your explorations? If not, then you should. I'd buy 1 from you.
great video, if the shaft wasn't collapsing, it almost looks like it could be started back up. There's some fairly modern electrical equipment in places.
It's too bad the shaft is collapsing. With that much left in the way of surface buildings the underground would have likely been pretty complete. It might have had full track, ore carts, working chutes and who knows what else. Maybe even ore still left waiting to be brought to the surface. Thank you for the video.
Nice explore , THANK YOU ! @20:24 - That's a Carburetor for a Stove Oil burning Heater - ( I know , I have two of them , one on each of my Stove Oil burning Heaters in my 1940's - 1950's Travel Trailers . ) . ---- < Doc > .
Thank yooooooooo!!!!! For not using that freaking annoying tic tok computer voice of that girl to say what you put up for us to read thannnnk yooo I just wanna give you a damm virtual hugg mannnn
I’ve loved your videos for some time. Lately you seem rushed and we can’t see the details in buildings, etc. but for only a brief second. And it makes me dizzy as you pan around so fast. But keep it up. You show us things we can’t see ourselves.
Yes, please slow down. When entering a space do slow slow pans, allow your viewers to absorb the details, take your time, do not be in a rush. After all you're making a record, a historical one at that. The Proper People (UA-cam channel) do a good example of this. You could even go so far as to get into the mindset of Tim "Mr. Goodpliers" Stangohr, it wouldn't be too slow. He takes in the big picture and also stops to slowwwwly focus in on little details.
Yeah , he gave away the name , but that road up and the distance from main roads in area & snow ( most years anyways) tends to keep most “ Looky- Lou’s” away. Been there as well & it IS a pretty cool time capsule. 👍. 2009 was my last trip up. Glad to see it’s still pretty much the same 13 years later.
Why are mining companies not responsible for removing all of their stuff after the mine shuts down? They should be required to leave the site like they found it! Shame on them... 😒🤨🙄
Many Mines are on the Historical Register and protected. Many across the West have actually been active off and on over the years. Some are on Private property. Should old homesteads be removed? Clean-up of toxic waste has taken place in nearly all historical sites. Natural environment will naturally recover much of the old sites as the trees and plant growth does its thing. Fires and slides have changed the wilderness landscape since Paleo’ times. Should the Ancient Cliff dwellings of Mesa Verdi’ be taken Down ? Majority of folks enjoy historical sites and History.
So knowledgeable! Lovely tour.
That place is in great shape, I would stay there for a bit
That was incredible!
Awesome!
Great video!
👍👍👍👊😎

The best of the film documentaries I have seen on the site. Big thanks for a neato tour.
That place is HUGE.......I bet it was so loud while it was operating...

Thank you so much for this video. You are giving me a tour of these awesome old mines that I would otherwise not be able too enjoy
Stunning. Well done. I’d like to tape your wrist so your filming is less jerky though.

Thank you for sharing! What a location and what an operation! Pretty cool indeed.
Impressive structure and cool tour.
Wow your passion for showing us all of this is amazing but you scare me some of the stuff you do, please be safe, your very brave.

Love this history , I live in San Jose CA. My family grew fruit in this valley now it's silicon valley.
What happened to the fencing around the site you were at I enjoyed you giving the tour of the old mine.
That was so cool to see thank you. i love to go to those kinds of places.
That was epic and wonderful. Thank you very much!

That is a massive amount of machinery to be just left to decay.
a lot of things still left. it was good to see.

That place is some straight Half Life 2 shit man...
Looks like a bustling place back in the day .
you definitely need more light for that camera
My understanding was it was used as a boy scout camp in the 60s. Apparently highly contaminated, maybe a Superfund site.
Hello from Denmark
I saw something on that video 3,000 feet into that cave your camera picked up a portal
Hello young man.Did you edit the Time portal cave video??From a year ago?

They should turn those cabins into a lodge/cabins and rent them out.
Is this in Plumas county?
Just down the hill a little ways is the way to get in below the mill
Very cool but looks snake haven to.
I've been there. Great place. I am disappointed that you gave the name. I prefer protecting these places.

Dam all them electric motors around there bocu bucks
It’s near lee vining no big deal everybody knows where these places are.
Hopefully you picked up your water bottle ?
Wow
This is so dope I feel like I’m in a video game
Kinda lik CerrooGordo
You're breathing is to hard and the camera movement is to fast .
Mayve put earplugs in and close your eyes so you don't see and hear those things then, rude
cant watch. zoom that cam.
I could use that tin and. The fence and doors and other things too bad it's so far
Don't know they let that all go to waste it could to some good instead of letting it sit and slowly rust and rot away such a waste
