Thanks for showing the picture at 6:30 that requests that you leave these places off of social media. I was at that cabin this weekend and it was the first time I have seen trash just left in the firewood box. Those cabins don't need the crowd with a lack of respect for what the park service has allowed to remain in the Preserve. There are many people that take them seriously, tidy up and leave it better for the next person. While you are getting clicks, organic circulation to trusted individuals might be a better method. Happy trails.
So glad that volunteers still care for the gentleman's cabin! I always wonder about the lives of people that lived in these remote places, thanks for the video!💕🏜️
How wonderful to see it still together and in such good condition. It's a part of history that can't be redone. Someone looks to be still enjoying it and reliving the past. Thank you for sharing.
Nice to see what is out in the desert and where people built for there mine operations each building had a purpose and pride as to the usage to call some there home. You all ways do a good talk of surrounding area's and telling the history back round thank you for the tag along Adventure ⛏️💣🏆🇺🇸❤️🤔
What a wonderful video. Its great to see them in a preserved and usable state. I also explore and post my finds its always really neat. I just purchased a home built in 1873 with property because i love the old 1800s and I am restoring it to the original look and function of when it was built in 1873. i even have a photo of the family and hoise from 1894 and have been discoving lots of artifacts.
Stayed at Rileys several times with my kids. And a few times at the other. I prefer Geer, you can heat it with a fart and the bed frame is surprisingly comfortable. the sunsets at Rileys are epic tho
My car capable of getting to Riley’s/geer died and I haven’t found a suitable replacement for a year… usually camp out there several times every year, just checking to make sure it’s still okay - fires came very very close to burning them up a few years back. Hope I can get back there before they inevitably do.
I remember being out in the Mojave desert back in the mid 80's. I was living in L.A. at the time and my next door neighbor was into hunting rabbits. So one day we went out somewhere not far from Victorville. In the afternoon. We hunted until nightfall. That day I remember seeing a mining operations going off in the distance. My friend said it was copper mine. Is that place still there I wonder. But being out in the middle of the Mojave was awesome. Beautiful country yet rugged.
It would be great if folks would rebuild instead of taring down and destroying these beautiful places I have wood and windows would like to help if ever out that way God bless be safe ✝️🇺🇸
I hear that Mojave question more often about The Miners Bathtub. Which is now gated after it killed too many visitors. Prehistoric fish are seen fresh up from that seemingly harmless depth.
Good question. I know of a year-around stone shaded pool within the Mojave. Which seemed to have unlimited depth. Livestock-pulled wood wagons hauled water barrels near..... and far. Flavored by miners who had bathed in the pool.
So cool 😎 ! Did he ever get married or had kids ? May he Rest In Peace and God Bless all the men and women who busted their tails to help make the USA the greatest country up to this point !!
I could fix one cabin up, install solar panels for electricity and build a big water tank to collect rainwater in the monsoon season in the late summer to live here comfortably.

Was there in the late 80s - Good to see Riley’s camp is taken care of - it’s a special place. So much is gone now
I enjoyed your video. What some nice FInds. Those old cabins still standing. And some falling apart. Keep them coming.

People who forget their history are doomed to repeat it. And is why in 2024 I will not vote for any convicted felon.
Really enjoy your videos however when you go inside cabins would you go slower and allow us to look at items left, on shelves, etc

*_What a cool area. It would be fun to go out there and camp out. Thanks for sharing this._*
Been there many times. Met the owner and his daughter there a few years back.

Nice video .Thank you.
I'd love to spend a week there and sweep, organize, push into place, just touch one of those sheds. Really gorgeous area. Thank you.

I thought that I was the only one who heated with farts! 😁👍🍺🌵🏜️
That makes 3 of us 😂😂😂 Geer’s is a little bit nicer!
Farting with heat can be flammable.
I would welcome your yard sign if a promised fart helps elect reader into public office. Let us respect honesty.
such a beautiful part of the desert, at least all that hard work came with nice views at rest times/ thanks for showing us around
That's one of the nicer cabins they are spread out in the desert and sierra mtns it's good when people maintain them.
very cool, hwat a nice place. thanks for upload. I hope i can visit the states next year

Almost a whole community of miners. It makes me wonder how tough one would have to be to live in that environment.
thank you

Nice cabin !
Those cloudbursts have led to the creosote bushes sprouting yellow flowers again.
My nearest creosote ponds built to catch industry spills are brim full.
Would I be any safer if the pond dikes had creosote bushes planted?

Good video 📸

Wonder if the old fridge in the last cabin might still work..
Where in Mojave can I find this
I hear that Mojave question more often about The Miners Bathtub.
Which is now gated after it killed too many visitors. Prehistoric

How did they get water?

Riley's kids still visit the homestead to this day!!

I’m surprised these miners cabins haven’t been vandalized or have them infested with illegal’s crossing the border. Or am I just being rude…????
There will be one more cabin in the Mojave, if i can find suitable land. Waddya say?
A lot of 🌞 sun light use solar panels for electricity and collect rainwater in monsoon season in the late summer.
@@charleshoang566 if i can FIND a place to build.
Do they even have electricity for those vacuums.
Someone stole Riley.
First!
Maybe they put Riley in the outhouse and he's sitting on the toilet.
Men never wasted mine-hauled lumber on shy folks.
Just walk over a horizon to go do private needs.
Maybe it was a root cellar?
Just what particular Mojave root would that be ?
