For the guys who says that they need mining iron for hoppers u can kill the first ones per hand by building up 3 blocks u obtain 3-5iron

This actually works in java but you have to place slabs on the top of the leaves then iron golem will spawn in the cage. Otherwise golem will spawn on the leaves

If somebody is confused about the torches, it's so that it could prevent hostile mobs from spawning
