I loved poppy at the end of this book. She really embraced her powers and was so badass!! Like when she went to talk to cas’s mom... AHHHHHH!!!!
i just feel so bad for her bc she and cas were going so well and she just lost her heartmate. But to be fair if this never happened she would not have embraced her true powers and summen the draken.
One thing I hope for is that JLA doesn't introduce another romantic interest for either Cas or Poppy. After all they've been through together, I don't think it'd feel real
I am so overwhelmed with this book. When she wanted to send the message that she would level the cities if Cas is hurt I died. I am mentally not ok after reading this book and wish I could flash forward in time to read the next one
I finished the book last night and I feel dead inside. Everytime I think of what's happening to Casteel and even how the blood queen lied to him about also having Poppy just to torture him... I just start crying again.
So 10/10, loved this book 😂😂

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is obsessed over this series! I've never been so invested before. It's the way he loves her, everything about her, devouring her. . Ugh, my heart. About the Joining, like you say i think it would have made sense before but now, I don't think they need to, unless something changes with Cas? But I don't want him to share Poppy so I'm happy with them just joking about it. Please let us know ASAP when book #4 is coming out. This is so hard on my soul having to wait.

I spent the last few days just binge reading this book and i have so much thoughts but at the same time I'm just confused. I don't know where this book is headed so i'm going to not dwell on it even though i have a few theories. I honestly cannot wait for the 4th book to come soon enough. I finished a few hours ago and i'm having a major book hangover. loved poppy in this book though, she was so strong.
I barely lived my life while reading this, it was so addictive. YES Poppy was such a badass
The first 15% of the book I had so many emotions, and had tears when she was dying. I definitely think Kieran has feelings for Poppy.
There is a spin-off series coming out that is in this world in October. Its about Nyktos and his Consort, called the Flesh and Fire Series. It will keep me held over until the fourth book. (Also, theory that Tawny is the young dragon girl that left Elysium with Poppy's father 👀)
That's an interesting theory you have! ! My theory is that JADIS is the real mother of poppy and also maybe the first maiden... I read the Prophecy again and again that's why I have this theory... Jennifer sure knows how to keep us on our toes.. 😂😂

I have a theory. So since Ian’s biological mother is a revenant aka the handmaiden, doesn’t that make him one a revenant as well? Shouldn’t he be alive in that case?
Holy crap you're most likely spot on. Isbeth did it for show knowing it would bend her to her will but im still wondering how she doesnt realize about poppy being much more powerful than her

@@jammyjammich I wondered the same thing, the only thing that makes sense to me is that Isbeth greatly overestimated her own powers (thinking she's some god) & underestimated Poppy. She never anticipated her embracing her powers because she was the Maiden

It’s a good theory, but the revenants are second and third children and Ian’s is a first, unless there’s another brother we don’t know of

The only way I can describe this book is overwhelming. I spent all day reading it and I had to spend the last few hours deciding how I feel about the book. I feel like there was so much information being thrown at us. As readers we were literally being taken on the journey with Poppy and I feel like every time she said she was fine I wanted to smack her. Like how was she fine (or at least pretending to be) when I’m just the reader and I’m not fine. So much happened. The information dump literally wrecked me. All the information we spent time studying and learning in the second book, we find out is literally just the tip of the iceberg. I thought book 3 would be the final book so I didn’t expect any more world building. Just a plot or story. Boy was I wrong. The world building here is even worse and I can’t imagine how it’ll be in book 4 now that the gods have been introduced. We’ll probably get more context on their world (more world building = more complexity = more pulling my hair out and biting my fingernails). I’m also so curious about Ires. Him being twins with Malec makes sense why she looks like him. Also since malec isn’t her dad then could Javis be her mother and not Isabeth. Meaning she would be descendants of the dragons too. Do we get to see poppy shifting into a dragon in the next book.
Anyways sorry for the long rant. I just had a lot of thoughts I needed to get out.

U know the part when poppy wished that she could change into something like a dragon! 😂 I think that's jennifer telling us that maybe JADIS is her mother.. I mean malec's twin brother ires left illessium with JADIS after all...
I have so many theories. First, I think Poppy will eventually shape shift into a wolven bc her father and grandfather can change forms, and she’s always alluding to changing forms by saying how envious she always is about how the wolven can shape shift. Second, bc she will be able to shape shift specifically into a wolven, I think she will be able to bond w Cas. But, that kinda negates all the foreshadowing of the joining... I also think it’s really sketchy how Eloana knew Ileana was Isbeth and didn’t warn them. Also, yes Poppy will have her mental breakdown and possibly wipe out Solis. This could explain the prophecy situation and how miss Willa was warning Poppy about it; I think how Poppy deals with whatever chaos causes her breakdown will determine if the prophecy is true. So many questions and what if’s, I can’t wait for the next book!
I think the last two books have been building to Kieran becoming Poppy’s consort. She felt a splash of surprise in Kieran when he saw her in a dress (clearly thought she was beautiful) - they keep introducing Nyktos’ consort and talking about gods having mistresses etc. and then at the end of this book she thought about what will happen when she needs to feed without Casteel. I think she’ll get injured and then have no choice but to feed from Kieran which will kick it all off.
I’m so here for it I read the book just wanting more Poppy and Kieran scenes. I wanted them to talk more through their connection!
I dont know why but karien bond with poppy was superfantastic... I love reading poppy kieran more than casteel.

I finished mine 3 days ago and I feel like I’m having withdrawals. I can’t wait for the next book... idk what to do w myself until then ! I love how Poppy’s character grew towards the end but the ending just broke my heart into a thousand pieces. I want the joining to happen 😩 I thought it would’ve definitely happened in this book but it took me on a whole different rollercoaster ride between the diamond sand, Drakens, and revenants 🥺

I literally finished the first 2 books in 3 days the moment my best friend recommended them to me. And I finished this one within 24 hours (aka this morning) and there was just soooo much happening. There were sooo many heated scenes and the ending doesn’t sit right with me like I AM IN DISTRAUGHT. I want to go into the book and see how Cas is 😭 The character build-up for Poppy is so amazing. With this book you really think twice. Because the moment you think there won’t be anymore plot twists, more unravel! It started off on such intensity as well! I feel like I was walking on egg shells when I read this book. I don’t think I’ll get over this any time soon
I keep pushing all my friends to read this series too haha. I AM SO BROKEN OVER THAT ENDING TOO HELP. You can never trust anything they say because there's always another twist!

Does anyone else wonder if the son of isbeth (poppys brother) is going to end up being alive ? I have a feeling Alastair hid him maybe? Same way poppys parents tried hiding her. Reason i think this is Isbeth was happy when she found out Alastair is dead.

No I can see there being more to him because 1. He would be an important relative to Poppy and there isn't all that much mentioned about him. 2. Not even Isabeth seems to know what exactly happened to him, she is just assuming.

One, I'm grateful that I discovered this book series about a month ago and I won't have to wait as long as some of you have for book four, because it will be out this march and it would have been complete torcher to wait so long. Blood and Ash has received a lot of bad reviews but to be honest I've never been so captivated by a book the way I have been with this series since Twilight. I'm already praying they make a TV Series.
Two, yes this book will live rent free in your head and you welcome it cause it's that good, especially this one.
Three, yes Kieran is also my favorite character and I feel like there is so much unspoken words between him and Poppy, especially on his part because of his friendship to both of them. And there is something there that can be explored, especially since the situation with Casteel at the end of this book. And I feel like there is a different dynamic to this "Love Triangle" , and I call it a love triangle because it truly is, Kieran and Poppy love each other even though they don't voice it and it might not be in a romantic way on Poppy's part but as for Kieran, I'm not too sure.
Quick question do you think the Dark One could be Poppy's biological brother? The Blood Queen's son which we all thought was lost? killed? Cause remember that someone lead the wolven to where Poppy and her family was attacked and killed, cause that person is yet to be revealed. Just a thought cause I'm damn near suspicious of everyone in these books apart from the three main protagonists.
I love Willa just as much😀. This book is a beautiful chaos I never Knew I needed. I've never loved my heart getting ripped out of my chest the way I have with this series and now I'm terrified of reading any other book cause I fear this one has set the bar quite high for me and nothing else would ever compare. I would never get to meet other characters quite so flawed and beautifully imperfectly written.
I kind of suspected the part where we found out that the Queen might be Poppy's grandmother that there is possibility of it being Isabeth, because no one knew what happened to her after she and King Melac had disappeared.
I can definitely also see how they both become unhinged yet find solace in each other.

This book was literally overwhelming and you pretty much summed up my feelings.But there was that prophecy thing and there being a brother that was supposedly killed by Alastir I think he is the dark one working with the unseen because it was said that Gyrms are made with Iliseum soil and only gods can enter then that guy being alive would also mean that he would be the bad person mentioned in the prophecy.Any thoughts??

Okay about the joining i feel like ppl are thinking to much into it bc they said it’s not always sexual. So I would like them to do it but not them have sex. I mean spice we love the spice but I’m good for whatever Jennifer does I don’t see casteel sharing poppy with anyway especially how he was in his dream state when he was hungry lol but how he acted toward Kieran. Also aside all that I think it’s weird how they say multiple times they love pda in Atlantia but when cas n poppy show it they always comment on it confuses me lol

I think it's the Wolven who are more open about PDA and also Kieran is obsessed with making fun of PoppyxCas. I get what you mean about the sharing but since it's not always romantic they might just do it for other reasons? AGREED ABOUT MALIK, I think he just used the imprisonment to his advantage. I need more answers about Ian too!
I can’t even begin coming up with rational theories (my mind is going every direction because JLA will find a clever way to flip the story again!) but definitely agree with all of your predictions! Hopefully we get some idea of when book 4 will be published! I am excited for the flesh and fire series!

This book totally wrecked me. I loved every second of it but as I got closer to the end I started feeling this sense of dread that Cas was going to be taken. I can’t believe a book effected me this much. And we don’t even know when book #4 comes out. I loved this book right up to the end but the end was just the worst kind of gut punch. Now what the hell are FBAA fans supposed to do?

1. Love love love Kieran but Cas and Poppy are so great idk if I want him sprinkled in romantically? mildly dreading the author may kill off Cas at some point and Kieran and Poppy will get together- could not handle that 🥴
2. I agree Malik being evil would be too easy and I think he is in love with the handmaiden from when he was reacting to the queen demonstrating how she wont die. And the warning the handmaiden gave Poppy (like Ian had) makes me think they were all in that inner-circle of knowing the truth/wanting to thwart the blood crown
3. Just sitting in casual agony waiting to find out what happens to Cas... 😶

Holy crap i just finished this while series in less than a week. Was so happy when i found out the third had literally just come out. But aahaghafmkernesn i just wanna read the next one!!!! I seriously hope it doesnt just ends there.
Also i made a note somewhere near the middle of the book there was a lot of wording and foreshadowing Kieran might die, and im almost entirely sure itll happen. Especially him being the one by her side on there way to war. And small death twists seem to be a love of hers to add in.
Best part was the reveal that Poppys supposed mother Cora, cannot be actually killed. I'd be happy to see her return to the story.
Malik I think maybe pretending with Ileana because he has the hots for the revanant/handmaiden. The revanants might just be going along against their will. That scene BTW..in that room with the queen DESTROYED me. I couldn't..

Just finished reading this and it was amazing...I'm absolutely in love with poppys growth in this book and the ending was aaaaaahhhh...lol couldn't believe I was at the end of the book kept flipping and there was nothing 😔😂😂
