Smug; No problem (Download complete) with the greatest of ease.
Deejay is now basically a fairer but still powerful fighter, not super cheap and full of discrepancies (e.g. Damage Output vs Drive Gauge Usage) like in S1 where he was ridiculously unfair. Even Tokido, Mago, Daigo, EndingWalker, Deadace and Problem X repeatedly said the same thing. Even Fudo admitted that Deejay used the be one of the most cheapest characters in the game besides JP and Luke. As you noticed, many people have to bear in mind that Deejay still has all his toolsets and been buffed with, like Lily, instant landing recovery from performing a "Maximum" - which he never needed and shows a lack of consideration for the rest of the roster from a game design point of view - still put him on a slightly unfair edge against other characters that can DP and Flashkick/MoonKick and still have recovery frames when they land (inconsistency and bad game design choice).
It's unbelievable that the nerfing of Deejay exposed many Deejay players though. Since S2, I and others have hardly fought any other Deejay players online. It goes to show that many of those players only picked him because he was a cheap character who gave them a competitive edge. Kudos to all current Deejay players who are sticking with the character despite the nerfing and trying to make the best of his new changes.
Disappointed in Capcom for waiting an entire year before doing anything about it. It's also unfortunate that Capcom didn't nerf Luke, Guile, Chun Li, and JP just as much to bring the game closer to balance rather than making it sorely tier-dependent, which I still believe is the wrong way to tackle a fighting game.
You keep doing what you are doing, SMUG. Even though I despised Deejay in S1, I am glad you are representing true Deejay players well.
Luke's damage nerfs are very noticeable.
Season 2 has just started, and a number of characters that were weak were buffed, and a fan favorite came out.
TryĪng to argue that because you don't see as many Dee Jay's at such a time, it means everyone was using him because he was strong īs asinine.

I bet you any money even you don't see the same number of Deejay players as much as before. Also, there are no disappearing act with any other game character, which is extremely essential to acknowledge! With everything that happened, of course there is definitely a correlation of players abandoning ship just to go to a stronger character and in response to the Deejay heavy nerf that doesn't allow him to abuse the game system and this is evidence of that.

Deejay did way too much damage for his archetype. But getting rid of some of his combos was a bit much
