He's the perfect replacement for Matt Sharp, he just carries the same energy but in a more chill and funny way Scott is cool but he doesn't have that "only one that isn't a nerd in the band" vibe, he looks like he's straight up to cool to be in a line up with all of them lol

There’s a performance in maybe Osaka, during the 2002 japanese tour that has a really long intro and rivers is telling the crowd how they should go give their mom a call and such. That might be my favorite.
Saw these guys on this tour in Columbus, OH at the Scottenstein center (or whatever the damn name is of that arena... believe it’s on OSU’s campus... but anyways) Can’t remember the exact date it was on the tour it was that year but Jimmy Eat World & Tenacious D opened for ‘em. Looking at the setlist here, I want to say it was just about the same. Know that the songs Hash Pipe, IITS, SIAS, Undone, BH & Only in Dreams were in just about the same spots they are here. Want to say though that I think I remember ‘em playing Photograph also. Entire night where all 3 acts just plain flat out rocked!
Critics hated it because it was such a sharp departure from the basic formula of a sophomore album being more of the same with signs of evolving songwriting. There was plenty of the latter but the recording, which was produced by the band themselves, was too abrasive when compared to Ric Ocasek's production. However, at the same time the songwriting was too introspective and personal for lay people to find it accessible and there was even division amongst fans at the time. After Rivers called it quits tho, most fans had plenty of time to absorb the album and reassess it in the band's absence from the mainstream. Critics, too, found themselves eating their words as the impact of the album started to be felt across other rock genres.
Everyone cheering for the blue album and pinkerton songs, but not a single cheer for any green album songs. There was a story that someone once told, no idea if it is legitimate or not, but green era Weezer once went into a restaurant to demo some songs to see how people would react, and not a single person actually cared or even knew who they were.
Hash Pipe wasn't released as a single yet and the Green album wasn't released until mid-May. I don't think anyone had heard the songs unless they were following the band from show to show.
@@brockthompson_ Oh that is news to me. I don't remember hearing the songs until they hit the radio. I went to the September show in Philly later the same year and everyone was singing along to the green songs by then.

Treyworld so cool that no one in the audience has ever even heard this song. Who knew it would’ve been one of their most popular songs
I dunno, the solo AOL version is pretty outstanding

Did they ever actually stop playing Pinkerton songs? It seems to be common knowledge among Weezer fans, but it doesn't seem like it's actually true.
Heck they even played a Pinkerton b-side “You Gave Your Love To Me Softly” at this show
I went to a show in 2002 with no Pinkerton songs.

Thats not Rivers Cuomo up there, its actually Marty McFly.
39:44 Imagine getting flipped off by rivers?
Even in 2001 everyones cheering the Pinkerton songs... Was there actually hate around the album at the time?
What I’ve seen it was mostly the critics for the most part who hated the album
Critics hated it because it was such a sharp departure from the basic formula of a sophomore album being more of the same with signs of evolving songwriting. No the hate ended pretty much around 1998 from what I can gather
Ya que su 3er album Weezer es el mejor le convierte a Mickey en el mejor bajista que ha tenido el grupo.

2 months before the album came out idk if that has anything to do with it. A lot of people were cheering for Hash pipe though.
