Great video! I have this exact Ibanez model but I put an EMG 81/85 set in it and set it up in D# tuning as my go-to thrash metal guitar. It's never let me down and it's such a simple and durable setup.
was it hard to install the battery? did you have to drill some extra space? I want to install the het set on my rg321 but I don't know if the battery will fit
@@ElPonchoSoy No although I did remove the tone pot as I decided I don't need it (because who needs tone pots in metal, right?) and I placed the volume pot in the slot where the tone pot used to be. So maybe that helped with the space.
@@ElPonchoSoy Yes definitely it was worth it! No change to the tuners or any other hardware - just the pickups from stock to EMGs and taking out the tone pot.
Some reason on mine the white part on the sides has cracks next to every Fret. Any idea why? Has been like that as long as I remember having it (I got it slightly used off a buy sell group some kid had it for a few months then wanted an 8string instead so sold it for a good price) I had taken it to some guitar shop to have a set up done years ago and the guy somehow slipped twice with the tool and dinged up the back where the neck attaches to the body so it wouldn't surprise me if it was something he did to it. Definitely wouldn't take it there again.
It sounds like the frets have possibly sprouted and pushed against the binding, forcing it to crack. Usually happens when it's in a really dry environment.

@@shadowalk true that haha and would you say it is worth upgrading the pickups? Did you also change the tuners?

@@shadowalk thank you very much for your response!
Very satisfying to watch
Thanks for watching! I'll get back to making videos soon!
Lovely vid!
Thank you mate!

Thank you!
Fantastic work Sir :)
Thank you !
Great job!!!
Thank you !!
Looks great after cleaning. May i know what u use to clean the oxidized/rusty metal parts, tuners and knobs?
Thanks! I just used some soap in water :) you can also use all purpose cleaner.
Nice job, what's this guitar like to play please? Was thinking of getting an Ibanez GRG170DX or an Ibanez RG321
Get the RG321, much better guitar. Really easy to play once it's setup.
It's also one of the best modding platforms!
@@bobsguitarmods OK, thanks for your advice.

@@bobsguitarmods ahh ok. Seems to just be cosmetic atleast doesn't seem to be affecting anything.
What did you use to clean the headstock and body? Thx!
Damp cloth, you can also polish on the headstock but finishing polish, not a harsh one.
Thanks for the answer, I was specifically interested in the spray you applied.@@bobsguitarmods
ArmorAll Disinfectant Cleaner. Nothing special, any All Purpose Cleaner will do the job, even water! 😁
