Well, I certainly would not buy the cakes, lol. I would bake my own for those prices. Plus they did not look fresh or tasty. The cheese seems way overpriced. Cheese is usually six to thirteen dollars a pound depending on type. Brie is too fatty so I don't really know our prices offhand. Parmesan is about thirteen or fourteen dollars a pound, feta five dollars a half pound, swiss about eight a pound; same for Cheddar. Swiss and Cheddar often go on sale. And our salaries are a lot higher but housing is extremely expensive in my area.

If anyone says "This is cheap", just remind yourself that it's cheap with your WESTERN money, and Russians earn on average $400 USD a month. Now it's not so cheap anymore

Yes, thank you for your comment.
I think a good comparison is how long an unskilled worker has to work for a certain product in the respective countries.
In Russia, it's roughly one hour's work for a bar of chocolate for an unskilled low-wage worker.
In Germany, it takes 8 minutes to make one bar of chocolate.
The same applies to other products such as strawberries, butter and others

If food prices rise sharply, how can there be room to sell Christmas stuff? There must be things in Russia that are cheaper than they are in Sweden. In Sweden, 1 kg of butter costs 9 dollars, and 1 liter of vodka costs 40 dollars. I fill my car with butter and drive to the Finnish-Russian border. I throw packets of butter over the border. On the other side of the border, a Russian stands and throws things that are expensive in my country. It cannot be counted as illegal Export and Import, when the butter package left my hand it was still in Finland.

Yeah, come and see the prices we are now having to pay for the very basic everyday food price's, with six medium egg's costing £2.60. A branded loaf of white bread at £1.80; in Scotland a basic litre bottle of vodka is £25.00; four 500ml of lager is £6.50? Ain't nothing cheap anymore here, especially as you pay tax and Levys on everything you buy..

*You have to bear in mind that the AVERAGE PENSION in Russia in 2024 is only € 240 = 258 US $ -- and the average SALARY is 670 € = 720 US $.*
General inflation in Russia rose very significantly to around 9% in the second half of 2024.
*The central bank has therefore raised the key interest rate to an incredible 21%!*
This in turn is a disaster for investments, which are falling sharply. The decline in newly started construction projects is over 50%!

Hi Natasha, Nice to see you again, you are so pretty. And of course your voice is so very feminine. The prices you are showing are fairly close to the same as I see here in Michigan, U.S.A. We have discount stores who usually use the word Dollar or the symbol $1 in their name. E.g. Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, Everything for $1.00, and even 99¢ Store. They used to sell almost everything they had for $1 or less. But now they charge more. Since the Brandon administration took over the Presidency in Jan 2021 we have been experiencing some very huge inflation and that has put pressure on all the stores to raise prices and the discount stores are not spared.
Currently we are in the midst of an election and if the woman gets back in *(she was already in for the last 3-1/2yrs as VP) she will raise taxes and the the prices will have to follow, so most people will want to see discount store prices as you asked. For me: Please do another KGB meme. That was very entertaining albeit a bit risky for you, but don't put yourself into jeopardy just for entertainment. OK? Fine Business young lady, Thank you! ben/ michigan

ALL included medicines) became more expensive because companies/sellers have to pay to mediators to get goods. As a result, the price is increased. 95% of our groceries are produced here. But the current economical situation influences prices on food anyway because we still a part of the international market.

I look at other vlogs from Russia and I see these prices that are super low from an EU perspective! I can’t get the big picture because I don’t know how much people make, I don’t know where they live (but you have told us!) Some things feel contradictory, a beautiful girl I follow she talks about how expensive things are, but now she will travel to Bali for two weeks. Most people where I live can’t make such a trip because of the high price of rent, food and other necessities. So I get more confused the more vids I look at. Maybe Russia is confusing like the doll that contains a doll that contains a doll…

Many people are in debts here. Also typical Russian lifestyle is not about saving money but about wasting money. Of course, I don’t support it 🙏

Are you from Scandinavia? Prices there are very high comparing to other parts of EU. Russian prices are high comparing to salaries. But vodka is cheap. Which makes sense, because it's easier to govern drunk people.

Red meat isn't heart healthy. Healthier choices would be turkey and chicken. Pork, not bacon, is a good alternative to poultry. I'm a Yank and no longer eat red meat. And I love tri-tip and brisket. Or barbequed ribs. Now I'm drooling. I miss red meat! But I like living. I don't smoke either. With COPD in a smokers future, smoking is indeed a quicker way to the grave. So grab a bottle of vodka, grab some steaks off the grill, and light up your unfiltered cigarettes!! I've found alternative ways to enjoy life that doesn't include bad habits that will cut my life short. So now I'll probably meet my end in an auto accident. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am writing to you from Russia. Most Russians look good because they know how to eat right. You can't limit yourself to some products! You need to eat everything you want, except of course those foods that you are allergic to! The main thing is to know the measure! I remember how long ago my wife, who was 9 months pregnant, said that she really wanted champagne! I was indignant and said that she couldn't and I wouldn't let her drink it, but her friend (psychologist), who was visiting us at the time, convinced me to pour her champagne. And what do you think...She took two small sips and..I stopped with a happy face! A psychologist friend explained to me that you can trick your stomach...but not the brain, my wife's body needed a set of chemicals, a set of which her brain was looking for in products that she had already consumed. The brain pointed to the champagne and got at least a little of what it wanted. Just, if you want something, then eat a small piece to deceive, but saturate the brain with what it asks for, and fill the stomach with some harmless side dish! And, I also noticed that people in the West do not walk much on the streets, they move only on scheduled business. We Russians really like to walk through the streets and parks without a special purpose! We just breathe fresh air, admire nature and architecture, and play sports...Our children receive good free education and medicine, they are well-mannered and clean and play a lot outside with other children and actively attend various interest groups, so they are very well socialized in society with other people and therefore very sociable! So be free, do not torment yourself with prohibitions that do not interfere with other people, enjoy life, appreciate every day, because we do not know how much we are given to exist! I wish you happiness, kindness and love!
