It was like the prize board on Bullseye 😂
Keep out of the black and in the red...
@@stuviewtv Nothing in the game for 2 in a bed.
Let's see what you could of won.
In One , You can be the hostess with the mostess at dinner parties,
My parents still have alarm clock radio
Born in 1965. The memories flooded back. Thanks, Stu. 😊
Glad you enjoyed the memories! Many thanks.
I’m old enough to consider most of these items modern lol.
Me too Foxy, Power to the People ✊
Got most of them, great memories.
Remember seeing how many kids you could get on a chopper, I think we got 8 😁
If I went into someone's house and they had a trim phone, we considered them very posh haha 😄😄
Got everyone apart from the Merlin, scary how many of these we actually had in the house.
Exactly, I didn't have them all but that was the one that I didn't get.
Got the lot apart from the Merlin. Never knew anyone who had one. Oh, and the last one was a Bullworker X5, not just a Bullworker. Much better ergonomics, and 2 extra exercises you could do with it!
The original Bullworker had green plastics and moulded ends for your fingers. My dad had one.
@@malthuswasright my brother had one in 1978. Doesn't change the fact that the one shown is the X5 model, though! Extended grips, and straps instead of the original plastic coated wires.
I loved my Merlin and preferred it over Simon. I alway was and shall be a gadget nutter.
great quiz it would be intresting trying to explain to the younger generation what they was
Absolutely. Wonder how many they would get right?
24 out of 25....😂😂😂
My wife and I found your channel last night and love it! It's bringing back some lovely memories of better times. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Great score on the quiz! Glad you are enjoying the memories on the channel - many thanks for watching! Much appreciated.
Same here! (The Merlin game defeated me.)
@@williamevans9426 ...same for me 😁
Omg that Goblin Teasmade! We had one of these when I was about 3 or 4. The alarm function made a really horrible buzzing sound. I can't remember if we ever made tea with it. I'd quite like to have one of these so I might set about trying to find one. We also had the Pifco sandwich toaster which was one of the first ones, and it was very chunky and in a retro shade of burnt orange.
Oh my, memories of the dreadful buzzing alarm on the Goblin are coming back to me now that you've mentioned it.
@@stuviewtv Yep, in fact here is that very sound brought back for you now.....!!!!!
ua-cam.com/video/labN-tOtyhc/v-deo.html
In the seventies everything was in orange or brown lol
100% !! Trouble is, it makes you feel old.
Great score!
@@stuviewtv I still have a lot of those items.
Wow I got them all.
The Merlin game was the trickiest to recall and I nearly didn't clock the VCR was a Betamax not a VHS.
The flashcube reminded me of when those old school compact cameras would make that high pitched whine when you turned the flash on and the capacitor is charging up.
Top stuff!
I feel like I've just done the 'Conveyor Belt' round at the end of 'The Generation Game" and "didn't I do well?!"
I can still smell the cap gun when you fired it 😂😂.
There were those type and the type in the plastic ring. I still have a few of the plastic ring variety; I use them to shut people up in meetings by shooting my toy western pistol in the air.
I filled my car up one evening at the local BP. The girl said the till was broken so she'd have to use the swipey swipey thing.
Then she gave me the whole ticket with all the carbon copies still attached.
I still feel a bit bad about that, although I didn't actually twig it until later.
(If anyone from BP is reading this it was roughly 50 litres of super and the reg was H801 VNU)
Vehicle was first registered between Aug 1970 and Mar 1971.😁
I can still remember my old dads reg from his Ford Corsair. There was one long seat in the front and the gear stick was to the right of the steering wheel.
I remember these. I also had a red chopper bike.
Nice one Stu 24 the I did not get was the dot printer cap gun and merlin soda stream copper good memories there Stu have a Top week dude 🙂🇬🇧✌️
Who remembers and had a Grandstand 6000 TV game ping ponging the square ball across the screen with 10 games on.
Oh yes, I think I remember those. Great fun!
I LOVED that 🙂
Betamax and Merlin threw. Nice bit of nostalgia
I think Merlin is catching quite a few people out so far.
i can remember my late dad brining home the furguson video recorder i hated the beta max video
Same here!
Gor a Merlin for Christmas and was chuffed to bits.
I remember having a Merlin too but have no idea whatever happened to it.
yeah also got one for Christmas and loved it
25 out of 25.
Super, smashing, lovely!
Nice one!
And tonight's star prize,, You live on the top floor of a block of flats is it set of garden furniture!!!! 😅
There should be a museum dedicated to 1970s lifestyle daily objects ,most people under forty wouldn't have a clue what any of this stuff was ,born in 68 so grew up with it all .thanks for a great trip down memory lane ,keep the vids coming .
I certainly will! Thanks.
I had a Viewmaster and a reel telling the origins of Tarzan. Viewed it over and over again. Simple, happy times.
A lineup of Generation game and Sale of The Century prize items. 🤣
Great quiz Stu.
Many thanks!
That's what I thought, all it needed was the cuddly toy 😂
All but two correct, lol it’s like the tv program bullseye prize board , in one kids will will never go thirsty again with this soda stream, in two never be late for work again with radio alarm clock ⏰!
24 for me. I didn't get the Merlin game machine - never even heard of it - but all the rest were very familiar!
Great score! I think the Merlin is catching a lot of people out.
Still got my hostesses trolly, comes out every Christmas.
The cigarette lighter isn't actually a cigarette lighter, its a cigar lighter, that's why its that wide, and originally they were only found in high end cars. (but I'm just being petty).
There was one in my mum's Austin Allegro, so hardly high end cars only.
Nah,they were in almost all cars after 1970,my parents cars all had them and they certainly were not high end.
@@GG-ml3vr cigarette lighters started appearing in 1925-1926 so just a tad before your parents Austin all agro.
@@jeremywade9287 cigarette lighters started appearing in 1925-1926 so just a tad before your parents Austin all agro.
Yes I'm sure my dad's Maxi had one and my mum's Datsun too 😅
Come on Guys admit it. How many of us stood in front of a mirror in our beedrooms when we were teens with a bullworker checking out our biceps. Lol
Glad to say I got them all right. We even had a few of them in our house. Merlin was my favourite computer game back then.
Top stuff!
Global Teasmade ❤ my grandmother had one. Great way to wake with a cuppa and no cold feet. Remember most them & still prefer some.😊Not 20 & 21.
Thank you.🇦🇺😊♥️👋
Many thanks for watching!
you can still get them squeezy bottles shaped like tomatoes
24. All but one. Never seen or heard of that Merlin thingy.
Great score!
Got them all..... including the makes! I think I might be getting old! 😮
Not old, just experienced...well, that's what I try to tell myself anyway!
remember all of those being advertised and family owned some of them when I was growing up - showing my age! However couldn't remember the Dansette name for the record player or the exact name of the Bullworker
Loved this quiz, thank you. I was a sad person that purchased a Grundig 2000 video player. Cost me a fortune at the time (and soon became obsolete !). I still have a personal cassette stereo and the sound quality with headphones still amazes me.
25 out of 25.... I enjoyed the groovy music as much as the quiz... strange how good music makes you smile without at first realising. Thanks.
Great score!
This took me back to when I had to wear shorts. Just the pick up I needed. I love your videos and I'm still in short trousers. My score 14/15. Thank You.
Great score.
23/25..... Never seen that computer game or the Dot printer...... :-))
I got them all apart from the Merlin electronic game and I thought the micro dot printer was a fax machine
With the Bullworker there was a good chance of chinning yourself.
I never chinned myself with one, but I had an X5 Bullworker and was sitting on the floor doing the rowing exercises when a plastic part on one of the ends broke, causing the bullworker to smash a hole in the wardrobe door i was sitting in front of.
Got all of them.
Merlin seems to have foxed a lot of people. I still have one!
Fantastic!
I am Sicilian but I lived in Britain from 1989 to 2001.
For 4 years I worked in a furniture shop (The Pier) in London, Tottenham Court Road.
When I left the shop, in 2001, we were still using a Credit Card Imprinter.
Another great quiz Stuview👏👏 the wife and I got two wrong (the same ones) I forgot about that merlin game and thought that old printer was a fax machine, does this mean you have to teleport me back to the 70s to brush up🤣 seriously that was superb fun thank you ✌️🍻
I've got the time machine warming up now! Thanks as always to both of you. Glad you enjoyed the memories.
I thought the printer was also fax machine,
merlin game never seen one in my life
Got to confess we had some of those but my parents had a Swan teasmaid that would wake up the dead. The Bullworker, if I remember, was always advertised in some national newspapers. I wounder how many men actually sent off for one of those and became disappointed the end results didn't quite transform them into Mr. Universe.
Still got my bullworker
Massive compression spring, small slippery handles combined with sweaty palms ?... What could possibly go wrong?
The credit card imprinted I forgot about, I used them all the time . What a blast from the past.
I've swiped many a card in my time too!
@@stuviewtvnaughty 😂
Last time I saw one in use was in the USA in about 2010, in a Limo to Chicago airport.
likewise, last time I’ve seen one in use was in Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines in 2013, it’s useless now with most newer cards not having embossed numbers and letters anymore.
Thank you for posting 👍👍
I remember Number 24, the Tape Recorder, and I also remember using computers in the late 1980s into the mid 1990s with the bright green text!! Also, every office I worked in had a fax machine, ancient relics of the past now!!😅
Got all of them fascinating blast from the past thanks a reminder of things from my past👍👍👍
Thanks Phil and very well done on a full house!
Thanks Stu, another great video.
I managed to get 24 which suggests I'm of a certain age, didn't recognise the Merlin game though.
Always thought those tomato sauce dispensers were pretty gross (still do), and consequently I have never ever used one.
Thanks! I think most people have come unstuck on the Merlin. It's definitely the most obscure item in the quiz.
Never heard of the Merlin game but got all the others.
That was great and brought back so many various memories...i got them all apart form 2 where I had a mind block ha ha so i htink its safe to say I am a retro fossil ha ha 🤣Loved this Thanks 👏🤗
Many thanks as always...from a fellow retro fossil!
@@stuviewtv 🤣🤣👍👍🤗
I must be ancient, I wasn't thinking Bullseye Prize Board, more like Sale of The Century to my mind
I often get asked by young people how we were able to do anything without mobile phones , computers and the internet or Sat nav. I used to work without any of them .
Me too.
What a great quiz. Total nostalgia 😊❤...though I'll probably feel extremely old when i show this to my kids and they recognise about 4 things 😅🙈
Growing up in the 80s, even if we didn't have some of these, i recognised some of the things from the argos catalogue 😂
I didn't have a merlin, but I did have a major Morgan that I loved when i was small. Got super excited to see the betamax too 😊
24 out of 25 for me 😊
Thanks for making this 😊
Glad you enjoyed the memories! Great score too.
Or the Woolworth's Christmas feature film!
Loved the quiz, didn’t get them all right, we had the groovy trim phone, the camera flash cube got me a bit, then I remembered I did have one of those cameras thought I was really cool 😂
22 getting better Stu, stuff from the 1970's is my bag
Top stuff!
full house for me. We've still got a couple of items.
Nice!
23. Never encountered a Merlin and didn't know the brand for Bullworker.😊
Didn't remember the Merlin Game thing, don't think any of my friends had this. I do remember burning my finger very nastily on item 16 though when left alone in a Ford Cortina outside a Pub in the mid seventies..... No kids allowed in the Pub so parents would be inside and occasionally pop out with a Coke and bag of crisps for yours truly...... child neglect of the highest magnitude.... didn't seem to do me any harm though..... that came later at boarding school in the Eighties! Lol.
That was a great quiz. The only one I didn't have a clue about was number 16 (sheltered upbringing!). I actually had a Merlin so it was nice to see it again.
Glad you enjoyed the quiz! Many thanks!
Great quiz thanks again Stu I had 20/25👍
Cheers Ken!
As with many other commenters, I knew all of them except for the Merlin gizmo. And I’ve probably owned half of them.
#2 bought one recently for a friend, she loves it
#4 they are back in fashion
#15 Lidl have them in every Aug/Sept for the return to school
#24 bought one from Argos just before they left the country - Ireland
Got all except two, great quiz! Although it did make me feel very old...
Glad you enjoyed the quiz!
23.5/25 - Didn't get Merlin and I gave myself half a point because I thought it was a Bull Master not Bull Worker lol. Brought back some memories for sure and I think I might still have some of these things in the attic haha.
Most of this is still available, I use a Betamax, VHS , reel film converter and a slide projector every day, its how I make a living,
Henrys , marks and spencer , my first santa visit was at Henrys , yes those were the days , i really missed them , oh just remembered Co op ! Debenhams ,
..some memories came back watching this. I feel old haha
😂😂😂😂😂😂
With the exception of number 21 which I had never heard of and number 25 which I thought was a chest expander I got them all. Thank you very much I throughly enjoyed that.
Glad you enjoyed it Andrea! Many thanks for watching.
I remember my mum having a green shield stamp catalogue with those items. In it How innocent we were
24 ... Didn't know the Merlin game thing😢
This was a bit like the generation game conveyer belt
Thanks again Stu, 👍… all but No. 21 & 25, born in 1965, so very familiar with the rest if not by actual brand and name 😊
Nice score! Thanks as always for playing.
Awesome 👏 Stu 😅
Thanks 😁
I've got a (reproduction) trimphone in black and white - it has the buttons and not the rotary dial, and has a high-pitched warbling ring. Everything in my flat is retro black / white / grey.
OMG I didn't even know these were considered retro, I thought we still had most of these!
The only one I did not know was 21, never ever seen one before.
there was only a couple of those I didn't get. If I had my way, most of those items would still be in use.
I knew all of these, but didn't always get the names right. The bull worker, for example, is self-explanatory as to what it is, but the name it went by stumped me. Those mono tape recorders were considered very valuable in the mid 70's. Something I always wanted, but by the time I could afford to buy one, they'd been superseded by much better devices. The record player was another one. We had one at home, but never noticed the brand name of it. The Merlin game thingy was another example of recognising it, but simply couldn't put a name to it.
I think most people are getting caught out with the name of the Merlin.
i actually had a bull worker but couldnt remember the name..recognized Merlin but couldnt recall name..forgot all about Betamax..but then so did the entire world..along with lazer disc players.
I still have my mono tape recorder. It's attached to my BBC micro model B, both in perfect working order (I have a thing for old computers, I collect them. I enjoy programming them. I realise this is a rather odd hobby but it makes me happy).
@@FishpondsLady Nothing odd about that. Sounds interesting!
I scored ancient old fart lol 😂😂😂
This was like Bully’s Prize Board
Wonder which one would have been 'Bully's Special Prize'?
Did the best I’ve ever done in one of your quizzes. My score was 23. But I am an old fart!
Great score!
Think I had that exact model of cassette recorder. Still have my Bullworker x5!
Love that you've still got the Bullworker!
A few i didn't remember the names but I recognise them,
Two I didn't know, I thought the printer was fax machine
The red game thing I thought it was a phone
So happy when you showed the Atari joystick what a happy memories,
We had a space hopper at play school
The only one I couldn’t remember the name of was the Bullworker, I knew what it was as I had one back in the day so I’ll knock half a point for that one😂😂😂
I used to have a Bullworker too. I would use it for a few weeks, then just give up for a while before trying to get back into it again.
@@stuviewtv we’ve all been there👍👍👍
Very nice. I didn't get the Merlin though; I've never seen one
Me neither, born in 1971...
I used to love the smell of the cap guns also I own the cassette recorder and remember used to record the chart show on a Sunday afternoon on it
You weren't suppossd to do that you know!
But everybody did of course.
Home taping is killing music! Which never happened.
@@reddwarfer999 😂
Aaaagh! Thought Merlin was called Oracle! Apart from that full marks!
So close to that full house!
100%. Like it was yesterday 😃
Top stuff!
Still have a 70s bullworker
I got the lot. Born in 1970. 🙂
Nice!
Got them all apart from Merlin couldn’t remember the name
as a child of the late 70s and early 80s I got them all
Top stuff!
As someone that was born in 1960 I remembered just about all of them and some I just couldn't put a name too.
Can you make your quizzes multiple-choice?I always remember but forget the exact name
Hi Stu, am I being geeky, but I'm sure that was a sony C6 or C7 betamax! I used to have a C9, used it for years.
Not entirely sure which model it is but you could well be right there Dave! Those were the days.
11 and 21 got me
I got 24/25 cap gun I couldn’t remember …, owned the majoroty of the rest , my dad had shaver and my aunt hostess trolly ,,,,, I feel so old lol
I think I remember my dad having one of those shavers back in the day too.
25 out of 25, and the last one, the bullworker, l still have and use!
Top stuff!
oh my god the memories, got 25/25 think i have owned most of those and still have a fair few, loved Merlin it was far better than Simon, Stu you haven,t been searching our loft have you ? 😂
Your loft was definitely an inspiration!
@@stuviewtv haha new it 😀
I managed 23 out of 25 - I didn't recognise the Merlin game and I'd completely forgotten about the Soda Stream.
The SodaStream stumped me for a few secs as I was looking at the picture and I thought they were milk bottles,
Got them all except the Merlin and the Betamax recorder. Never ever saw either of them.
24.5/25 I thought the dot matrix printer was a fax machine or a printer.
