After about 20 years working, I'll tell young people you should not have any loyalty to any organization, they will turn on you in a second when its convenient and fire/replace you. Also to ensure no slavery, young people dont get married and dont get a girl pregnant, make sure she takes the birth control pill daily in front of you and both wear protection. You will just condemn your new child to increasing poverty and freedomless slavery and these control/money/job trends worsen. Promote this idea in videos and social media to help prevent more young people into this new slavery.

The most bitter pill I ever had to swallow, the one I fought so hard to accept in life is what work in real life is like. Hard work doesn't equal promotion, your job doesn't care about you, loyalty means nothing, your job wants the most work while paying you the least they can get away with.

    • @Hunterchuck

It's not that people can't have a voice, it's that they choose not to out of fear. Workers need to unite and hold companies accountable for everything plain and simple.

Why do you think we have this mess in the first place?
We let our government literally shoehorn health insurance in and propped them up so hard that the insurance companies are raking billions a year.
The doctor and patient is no longer connected, but instead is paywalled behind a massive bureaucracy and hospitals have to overcharge because they know insurances will undercut them.

Tell me how having one payment entity is somehow less efficient than the mess we have now with hundreds of thousands of payment entities and countless middlemen involved in every possible interaction you have with a hospital. Most of the cost you have to deal with is almost entirely payment processing middle men that wouldn't exist with a single payer system with collective bargaining.
It's very, very simple. Reducing middlemen and creating economies of scale from collective bargaining make things cheaper. We see examples of this everywhere in the world. Why do you want something LESS efficient?

And ambulances are no longer respected like in the US.
If it was an actual emergency, guess you'll die on the way.
Maybe if universities stopped scamming medical students and packing them with so much useless classes and burdening them with debt, then most wouldn't sell their souls out just to pay off a debt.

There's also mental abuse that happens in the workplace, but the management is always protected, never the employee. And they're always talking about bullying in the workplace but mental abuse isn't considered bullying??? If I'm being targeted by the manager, I can't say anything? So these managers are allowed to threaten my position, claim that I gave the wrong medication on a day I didn't even work, yell at me over the phone for not knowing what a certain medication was even though I was already talked to about it, let a customer abuse me by yelling at me because I was following company policy but no the customer claimed I thought he was stealing?? No one cares about their employees. We're all just a body. We're nothing and I wish this changed. All the trauma I've been through in the workplace really gives me anxiety and I'm terrified just going back to work.

The workplace health and safety law in New Zealand is such that when stuff like that happens here, there are prosecutions of anyone found to be at fault, which can not only include people like supervisors, but may even include the CEO and board of directors. Each individual found to be criminally negligent may be fined up to $750,000, and it is also not legal to insure against such criminal fines.

Fun fact about NDA's, Noncompetes, Arbitration, etc. These are all threats that do not hold as much power as you think they do.
There's also something called "attorney client privledge" meaning you can tell your attorney everything and anything illegal you have done with no legal consequences. In the case of an NDA, if your attorney deems that the company or corporation has committed a felony and covered it up with an NDA, that NDA is no longer valid nor was did you break it by talking to an attorney.
Unlike small claims court, niether of the parties can simply "drop the charges". A felony requires state/federal investigation, at this point an NDA is an obstruction of justice.
Noncompetes? Normally invalid in most states. In jobs where state licensing and certification is required, companies can't claim that paying for said training validates a noncompete as part of the contract. Because to the state, that employee would never have been able to legally work that position to begin with. Nor can any state/government related certification be used to hold back the employee. Because it would mean a private entity is attempting to limit the ability of a government license which is highly illegal.
So why do these companies bully employees like this even though it can lead to even worse legal consequences? Because they are bullies and have the money. All the money that could have gone to your salary? Sorry but they need it to cover their sometimes illegal activites in saving more money.
I would compare this corporate behavior to the mafia, but atleast the family is an actual family.

How many are willing to fight for years? How many could they just threaten and shut up? If you are ever trying to fight a company, never fight with humanity, fight with numbers. Compare the practice of driving past four hospitals to save money on employee medical bills to another little known but potentially abused practice. Many companies take out life insurance policies on each new employee. Some do it halfway out in the open by offering you a group term policy that you can choose beneficiaries for, maybe, a few hundred thousand dollats, but in that case they probably also took out a shadow policy with themselves as the beneficiary and this one is for half a million or more dollars.

Corporate ownership of life insurance (COLI), or corporate-owned life insurance, refers to insurance policies taken out by companies on their employees, typically senior-level executives. The company is responsible for making the premium payments, and if the person dies, the company, not the insured person's family or other heirs, receives the death benefit. Such policies came to be called "dead peasant insurance" after some companies purchased life insurance on low-level workers without their knowledge.

If you are injured at work you are not required to use your company’s Work Comp provider. Work Comp only cares about the company’s interest not yours. If possible get seen by your own provider and get FMLA. Also find a Work Comp Attorney to protect your interests and deal with the drama. I had a friend become permanently disabled because her work comp forced her into physical therapy when she actually needed surgery. She ended up needing to have her foot amputated.

As a Canadian with access to universal healthcare, seeing this breaks my heart. Healthcare (and the ability to live) should be a right, not something you have to pay for. Brandon gave his blood, sweat and tears (and his life) twice - to his employer and to his country while serving in the military. Yet here he is. This is so wrong!

@@a.wadderphiltyr1559 So what you're saying, if you're ill and seeking medical attention, and doctors will say, ohh you're not entitled enough to get cured, just go home and take a rest buddy. How do you feel about that? Rather than going to the hospital and get the best cure available for you, right away.

This is the type of man you build a company with. He’s honest, dedicated, loyal, and eager to learn. An entrepreneur should snag him and build something with him.

I've seen this video of the injured Frito-Lay employee and his family elsewhere. The couple did a great job at showing their situation and how that huge, incredibly rich company treated him and his family without compassion. Why doesn't the US have labor or other applicable laws that prevent the delay of optimal medical care just because it's more economical to follow some contract with select medical providers? As if that wasn't bad enough, Frito-Lay and its third party contractors have little regard for him and his family and have actively worked to worsen the situation. He's suffering from his injuries and the entire family is suffering emotionally.

Why on Earth would a company partner with a hospital whose location is on the other side of town from the company? Does insurance have proximity to hospital rates?
