I would go as far as to say: Fame helped him discover who he was. Really amazing, the amount of introspection and reflection without getting negative about any of these things.
Not a bad statement by Josh : "failure is guaranteed; 100% you're gonna fail. It's just a matter of : can you string together those failures so that it turns into something called success."
Yeah, a good quote an old friend used to tell me was, "Every failure is like a rock. Some use them as stepping stones; others use them as stumbling blocks."
Josh just seems like an actually grateful dude, I know he literally said it himself, but his tone and attitude do have this "I know you know me for HIMYM and even though I'm tired of it I still really appreciate it and am fond of it" ring to it that really gets to me. Seems like a dude that knows his place, and that seems well sorted out.
I think she might be the best interviewer i've seen , she really knows how to get the point out and move on to another without ruining the flow of the conversation or making it stagnate for 1 second . She even knew how to steer the conversation part to something interesting which eventually became the whole appeal of the video . " wait wait wait wait you got fired ?" and she kept him there coz the drama . 10/10 from me
Listening to him is so enjoyable. He's so intelligent and focused. I wish Hollywood would cast him more. He seems like a kind of guy that has a lot of creativeness in him, that's ready to be put in action.
That was big time annoying. Do you want the question answered or do you know already what he will say. Best interviewers give the other person plenty of time to talk!
Great talk! It makes such a huge difference when you can tell the interviewer has made the effort to do some research. I appreciate the way she's able to reference things about his background, career, and subjects he's touched upon both in past interviews and his INKtalk.
Jay Mayo I never got into friends. Idk why. I watched a few episodes and I disliked it. Himym is soo good. It’s a show you have on in the background a show that never gets old
@@quantessenz Because, it appears that a vast vast majority of who he really is shares the same traits of Ted the character. IDK him, but as an actor, I play roles I can act less and reveal more. IDK, maybe Ted changed him to more like the character, maybe he always was or maybe in reality he's nothing like the character. Maybe I am bias, but I think he played Ted well because they shared a lot.
I really appreciate Josh's perspective. Personally, I worked to become the person I wanted to become until I was 30, at which point I realized that wasn't working. Since then, I have been becoming the person I need to become. They are completely different journeys.
Thanks Josh Radnor for being cool headed and enduring those moments when the girl cuts you mid sentences, like "hurry up, I need you to answer all my question, don't want anymore additional details," enduring them like a champ. 😅
Shes a truly terrible interviewer. Sam Jones from off camera is the absolute best I've seen, this women could learn a great deal about the art of asking guests questions from him.
It's called having a conversation in real life. Plus she's interviewing him, so it's her job to lead that conversation into topics that the viewing public might find interesting.
Thank you Josh! Amazing interview, and he is such a humble, genuine, talented guy.. he was so on spot talking about the fame , success and happiness, that it doesnt necessarily come along with each other. I can see, he might lean to depressive thoughts, or being so, n I'm saying it because I Am having depression and what he says that our head, mind is the worst enemy and biggest obstacle. I couldnt agree more . . This pattern of negative thoughts are just coming all over so often, it's hard to not believe in them sometimes. It's hard to pick good ones .. thats why he is practicing meditation, which is cool thing, I used to do, but gave up .. I just love him being so " close"to us, so real, and kind. He is rare type, that's why he is not in this Show off Hollywood scenes. Much respect, and love to Josh! Always!
He and the charachter he played literally solved half of my problems , The other halves are solved by chandler and Joey's friendship Thanx God for these two beautiful shows
I think this guy is quite a capable actor -and definitely not annoying like the ones who just want to be "stars" -Radnor wants to tell stories. I'd like to see him in more shows and movies.
After watching many "Actors Roundtable" from The Hollywood Reporter, I have come to realize that actors/actresses are the ultimate society researchers. They get into what it is to be human and they get to experience so more opportunities to see other point of views than most humans.
Is it that common for an interviewer to cut him talking so many times? Why is no one talking about it? Pretty sure his excitement deteriorates from 4:01.
I appreciate the honesty , and it is indeed important to have mentors . I had none ... absolutely NONE . and you really can not get far if you have no guiding lights
Man, he’s awesome. I fell into a pit (changing your life trajectory in your head can be strenuous….) and started watching romance sitcom compilations on youtube, and got hooked by the himym. Finding out about Josh Radnor is the best thing that came out of a rather humiliating thing. (No shade to the show, i think it was written well i just think it is best for me to avoid that stuff for very personal reasons)
0:05 I gotta admit I've always think so... not that Im saying Radnor is ugly, but in HIMYM he was just moderately attractive; not that was bad though... Ted was supposed to be the kinda average guy with game (talking wise)
@Josh I meet you awhile a go and you seemed a bit grumpy. Seeing this definitely changes my perspective of you and understanding your journey. Apologies for my ignorance and many wonderful moments on your journey.
Josh Radnor is really a big inspiration for me. He is such a humble man and he didnt let fame change who he is.
It seemed like she was trying to keep the convo flowing but ended up interrupting too much lol.
he killed it in Hunters tho!

He's literally Ted, while NPH is the opposite of Barney lol
Yeaj that’s probably cause barney is the opposite of ted
@L no littlerly not. He is gay and married he is like James. No hate to homosexuality btw
@L yeah I know but but you forgot married
@L well lets just agree he is a Stinson lol
hmm maybe not exactly opposite ....NPH might be like Barney's brother who got married :P
I would love to see a podcast with him as a host.
Hey I second that! This guy's makes good conversation!
And his voice really works with explanations and comedy bits
You can’t see a podcast bro
A TED TALK

Josh should consider writing a book on failure and optimism, I'd definitely read that.
Btw Josh I haven't watched how I met your mother!
I think all actors kinda have to have that in them
You should watch it, it's really good
It's so fucking good
@Shady Coder he has a youtube channel
You need to !!

Hahahaha Thank you for this comment.
It's a bit obvious tho why radnor didn't do a TED talk
Josh Radnor :

WOW josh sounds MUCH more friendly when he’s not acting like ted.
A S well “ted” like any other sitcom protagonist, is prone to lapses of self centred morality, Ted just seems to have it worse than anyone else.
This was the most calming interview I’ve ever seen. I feel at peace thank you
A TV interview with a great guest and wonderfully conducted?!?! How is this possible 😅 Didn't expect this!
And the interviewer is interested, this seems like a good show

It is criminal that Rise only got one season. Such an incredible show.

He, Jake Johnson, and Keanu Reeves should star in action comedy movie
"Pick the good thoughts" ✨

I love Josh, incredible guy.
This man is a genius,
In my opinion
What's wrong with her? Let him finish talking...,
does She have to interrupt every single time?
At 12:44 when he starts talking about his depression and she goes. "YA DONT WE ALL DO THAT! HAHA" oh man
she's probably nervous because she's got the hots for him
That's called womanterrupting
Too bad, NBC pulled the plug on Rise. It was a really great show. A lot of relateable stories in one drama...
One of the best talks ..
