  • This will explain how to put together AN style fitting onto braided hose. You can make custom fuel lines, brake lines, transmission lines, oil lines, power steering lines, or other fluid delivery lines easily using these step by step instructions. This video is speciifically showing TFE lined hoOnly a few necessary tools are needed: Cable/tubing cutters, small flat screw driver, tape, wire cutters, and pliers or and adjusable wrench. A vise with aluminum jaws and aluminum wrench would help but not necessary.

    that looks like a pain in the ass, why would I choose these lines ( besides looks) over running nylon or rubber fuel lines? I understand that the stainless offers abrasion resistance but we use nylon fuel lines on every car that needs rusted out fuel lines replaced and they seem to outlast the life of the vehicle. I have never used these and am not dogging them, actually looking for information! thanks :)

      people usually go with an lines for brake systems because they has less of a tendency to bulge from the pressure. SS lines are stiffer than the rubber brake lines.

    Is there a torque spec for the fittings? Where the red and blue meet?

      I dont know for sure. I just go until It gets snug. Be careful as they are only aluminum and you can easily strip threads. Key is just to pressure check the line when done with compressed air or something. No leaks and your golden.

    What kind of pressures do these lines hold?

      My lines will only be 75 psi max. However I think the lines are rated for 1500 psi or something crazy.

    Don't ever cut a -an stainless braided hose (Or any hose) with cable cutters...WTF! Use a 32 tooth metal hacksaw blade or use a cutoff wheel on a grinder like I do!

    • @abadmixtape

      I use cable cutters on braided hoses wrapped tightly with electrical tape and out of the countless fittings I've assembled... still zero leaks

    Why are you using a compression ferrule on a braided pft hose? A crimp on fitting or a screw on style an fitting would be the correct parts. This might work but I would never trust it and it probably wouldn't pass any certifications.

      Shaun no those are ptfe specific fittings, AN fittings would be used on AN hose

    Braiding fuel lines is a mistake. If there is a bag ground the braiding can act as one and the small wires that make up braiding get red hot immediately, melting through the hose and starting a fire.

  • @mikek771

    Why screw around with all that.... Just use push locks. Easier. And last longer

    • @taydencornish
      @taydencornish 3 роки тому

      Joking if you think using push lock on fuel oil or hydraulic line is anything but ridiculously stupid, have fun when the line flys off and you crash

      It will work and likely work okay but I've seen plenty fly off causing engines to die, fuel going everywhere ect
