Me and a couple buddies were allowed to watch their sound check in Austin several years ago from a balcony overlooking the stage. The first and only time I got to see Motorhead. We got on the balcony quite by accident and they were cool enough to let us watch the entire sound check. I got some cool pictures too. This was right after meeting Lemmy who was playing pool with one of the road crew, just the two of them, no one else around. Got a couple pics with him then moved on. Heck of a trip.
Mickey Dee is one hell of a drummer.

I ussually don't give buck cos' i'm not judgemental- butt as for drumming- not the best, but certainly most original drumming-work is for Vinnie from Pantera - they were GlaM untill- well, i guess that Phil deserved credits for that- not for all- move out for a damage case- DOWN- I was surprised when I saw them in that band- and you know why they called 'ggroovie'- taken from mmovie Fear and Loathing- ..............

Motorhead as a 4 man band with Wurzel iin 1988 was maybe the loudest thing I've ever heard. But I would gladly be there again. And again... Lemmy Forever

I once saw a Motörhead’s sound check, Lemmy showed up in this little bitty shorts, they actually perform two songs for the early crowd. He was fucking cool. I also had tickets to go see him in Texas, but the tour was canceled the day before and the rest is history. Rest In Peace Lemmy

Yeah when they came to Perth Western Australia, back in 1985, the pub they were playing on had to take all the glasses off the selves as vibrating so much, meet Lemmy before actually show, great guy RIP.
It was the four piece with Wurzal and Pete Gill, We're bloody loud, Lemmy put his neck of his bass through the stage styrene roof, what a night, ears ringing for about a week.😙
Mikkey Dee I met him in Las Vegas. Super Excellent drummer and as an incredible person.

Odd to see Mikkey playing Tama, but looking at the tour dates, a separate leg of Greece/Serbia/Croatia tells me these were fly dates. Glad that he got all the gear he needed, as it is not always the case when I've played overseas!

I've noticed on your site, for this item you've wrote "Taper - ?" I have a whole concert on VHS taped by Aleksandar Polzovic, a friend of mine and a host of a cult metal TV show in the early 90-ies in Serbia. He taped it from.. how do you say "tribine" in english... anyway, from far behind, but he zoomed in a lot. Maybe that's the same footage as on your DVD? It would be interesting to see a sample of the concert itself. Cheers.

@@taunokekkonen5733 Unfortunately i'm Danish, And connoisseurs of chewing tobacco in my shit country are a threatened species. We have a tradition for snuff due to our brotherly band with north scandinavia, but we are so much south and part of EU where it is forbidden that we are between two chairs. The whole bloody reason for the snuff ban is that some payed scientists to fabricate and lobby against chewing tobacco and branded it unhealty. The rising popularity of snuff caused the sale and production of cigarettes to drop because you need less tobacco for snuff to get the same satisfaction. And less use of tobacco mean less money to the tobacco cartels. Right now i wish i was Swedish or Norwegian.
@@briansteffmagnussen9078 well, if it's any consolation, it's pretty much same here in Finland. You can't sell or buy snus, but you can own and use it. It's stupid. Everybody gets it from tax free in the cruises between Finland and Sweden.

I don't care what everyone else says, Motorhead aren't loud enough.
Brings back memories of supporting these guys in New Zealand and being in the room subjecting myself to the loudest soundcheck I have ever witnessed. Just a quick comment, although Mickey is a pearler of a drummer, he's always playing too tight. He doesn't have the beautiful sloppiness of Phil Taylor or Pete Gill for that matter. A lot of bands seem to employ pro session guys to replace their departed timekeepers and it's not always successful, it just doesn't quite sound right. Look at ACDC without Phil Rudd, Roxy without Paul Thompson, The Cramps minus Nick Knox or the Ramones without Tommy. A great drummer is everything.

As a soundman I am APALLED.
You can BARELY make out ANYTHING Lemmy is vocalizing other than --- "Move over for a damage case".
His vocals NEED to come up.
WAAAAAAAAAAY up.
Or else lower the rest of the instrument channels.
This is one of the biggest mistakes in just about all live music settings.
The soundguy always usually CRANKS ALL the instruments up and by then there is no more headroom for the vocals.
The least they could've had on lemmy's channel would've been a sonic maximizer.
That would have at least made his vocals cut through much better with a more defined crispness to it.

But they are known for playing very load, and when the stage volume is so high, its very hard to get the vocals louder then the instruments.

You’re totally right about vocals needing to come up and needing more room, but I think that’s even part of Motörhead’s thing, more about loud fuckin rocking out then having vocals heard clearly

Where is Lemmys 4x15 cabs?
Lemmy got those later down the line, He started with just 2 4x12 cabs in each stack. Later moving to what looked like 2 2x15 in each stack or just a wide looking 4x12 and then to the iconic 4x12 and 4x15 stack he used.
+Thunder Shark No. lemmy had his 415s since the 70's. That's when Marshall made them. You can see on the No sleep 'til hammersmith cover that lemmys stack is taller than eddyes so eddey put two amps on top of each other to match

He did change it alot. Sometimes having a 415 size bottom cab with cloth-front and sometimes with 4 separate grills (so you can acrually see its a 415) I've seen him with TOP cabs in 415 size buth with 4 seperate 12" grills too. (Looks quite odd) however finding out about lemmys gear is tricky since all interwievers ever asked him was the same old; "how was it beeing a rodie for Jimmy Hendrix" and "Did you really have sex with 2000 women" etc 😜
