I found out about the blue devils in september and I instantly fell in love i basically listen to felliniesque everyday and not only that but the Re rite of Spring I am a flute player and I am currently in the process of switching to baritone just so I can be a future blue devil, .35 away from PERFECTION that's just unbelievable idk why it wasnt a perfect score but I adore the blue devils. So amazing
I love the Blue Devila, but I personally prefer Crown, mostly in show design. Although I should note that in 2013 Crown brass was 0.00 points away from perfection...
gonna be missing RCC this season... what a fantastic campus venue for DCI...a lot of walking...but a gorgeous place for watching sectionals. Have a great year Blue Devils - looking forward to a bounce-back season. Rose Bowl... 2 weeks!
Taylor Stewart Taylor, I did not count this year even though it was looking like 16th ring . long before finals. Yes the Devils smashed the record books and that 99.65 will be hard to beat. 16 rings !!!!!!!
Has anyone ever used space chords as part of a show? If not, I think they should. Oh, and does anyone have any b corp videos from 1979 - 1982 to upload? That's when I marched. A corp videos from those years would be cool too.
Lance is right. 2007 is actually nearly identical to Space Chords. They may have keyed it down or minored it as they were stretched from the left endzone (backfield) to the right endzone (near frontfield) as the drumline wove itself through the brass. Very little of the 2007 show was "original". Most of it was from previous BD shows throughout the years.
I never understood why everyone in the hornline bends their knees at the end of space chords Its understandable by the lead trumpets I think but the whole hornline is doing it Can someone educate me on that?
Imagine being a townie walking home from the store and coming upon this wall of sound having never seen a Corps before. It’s not the Fall, so it can’t be a marching band. What the heck is this concert doing in this courtyard with only 30 spectators? It makes no sense. (This is a true story that happened in Madison in 2002.)
imagine how many people get turned down from the blue devils at each audition camp and this is pure perfection my friends
At 0:58 on....... Goosebumps and tears at the same time. I'm not sure if I've ever heard such beautiful music in my life!!!!
is no one going to mention those overtones??? damn beautiful
4:55 that trumpet attack will always make me ooze
Love how smooth the chords come in, @00:57 and the progression is soft, and warm. Wish I was in that little audience. Epic.
Hate on BD all you want.... that was beautiful. I got dem chillz, they're multiplyin'!
This is especially beautiful with the reverberations around the courtyard

OMG felliniesque is my favorite show!!!
I love the Blue Devila, but I personally prefer Crown, mostly in show design. Although I should note that in 2013 Crown brass was 0.00 points away from perfection...
Gabrielle momplaisir it was the first live show I watched and I cried
Felliniesque is a masterpiece not just in how it was performed but also in its design!
Did you end up marching BD or anywhere else?
I was a Bluecoat. But Blue Devils are the shit !
Love the Bluecoats!!! I saw they took second in Houston this past week and lost my shit.

Tremendous horn line!! I sure hope there's drum & bugle Corp in heaven! Love it!
Omg! What a sound!
I always did love listening to them warm up besides crossman.
What a powerhouse of sound. Goosebumps much???
And that my friends..... is perfection.
+Blake Orr shoot tbh I don't even need headphones or a surround sound system to get chills from listening to this!
It's not perfect, but it sure is good

Blue Devils have 15 rings since 1976 Yankees have 7

Taylor Stewart Taylor, I did not count this year even though it was looking like 16th ring . long before finals. Yes the Devils smashed the record books and that 99.65 will be hard to beat. 16 rings !!!!!!!

Omg! ive been trying to figure out who that was.
Yeah. I noticed that as well.
Does a lead trumpet jump to a double G# at 4:26 or is that just overtones?

BD used it in 2003
reverberate10 Thanks, I'll check it out
2007

Felliniesque deserved its win
4:10 to 4:37 Awesome!
I never understood why everyone in the hornline bends their knees at the end of space chords
Its understandable by the lead trumpets I think but the whole hornline is doing it
Can someone educate me on that?
i think they bends their knees so they can play as loud as they can
@@kotlingoddess either that or just for the aesthetic
its pretty much a staple for BD
it's pure dipfrickery and completely unnecessary
99.65.
OH GOD THEIR FEET
Euphonium 💪🗿
High note was held over too long at the end of Space Chords.
supposed to be, thats how it always is in that warmup
That's the point dude....
Wouldn't be a BD warmup without a screamer totally missing the release! It's tradition at this point ...
Oh yeah ... 0:57 ...
Space Chords tho

4:30 OMG !
I hs band. And parade drum corps. To old now. Wrists are gony
If that was in tune it really would've been awesome
Some of that is truly not in tune.
they forgot that Maj7 chords have dissonance in them.
sorry but crown is better hornline devils lack that sound that crown produces that makes you feel like your floating through warm honey
Joseph Marsh because with them you're not suppose to be floating through honey, you're floating through *space*
This stupid overhype on the warmup crapola (yeah, yeah..... I know..... """max it out""". whatev) is getting ridiculous.
Have you ever been to one?
Been to one what?
A warmup. Or participated in one.
Hundreds.... participating member of 2 time world champ Madison Scouts, tyvm.
Then what do you not understand? If you were there you would be hyped up too.
is no one going to mention those overtones??? damn beautiful
