- This song was just so impactful! like, it's not a ballad but the lyrics along with the dance and the acting really just hits home and makes you feel the things they were saying. This choreo as well is one of my FAVES from TXT...like how is it possible for them to just keep getting better?

I balled my eyes out for hours the first time I streamed deja vu because i've been a bighit stan since 2015 and this song just felt like home.

For what it's worth, I got very emotional the first time I listened to this album, too. I've grown a little numb to it because I've played the MV so much for streaming over the past couple days, but the first time _definitely_ got me. It's so dramatic. You can't help feeling for them when they sing and look like this.
That hug at the end is so _comforting._ Duh.
I totally get what you're saying about how all their comebacks sound a little different but still sound like _them,_ though. Haven't seen _My Demon,_ but I'll take your word for it on that front haha.
One of the words that appears in the lyrics (as well as the subtitle for one of the remixes of this song) is "anemoia," which is a relatively newly coined word that means "nostalgia for a place one has not been or experience one has not had yet." I think the fact that they evoke such third gen Kpop vibes is a testament to how well they embodied that.
There's a _lot_ of theories about the lore lmao but, according to what the members have said about the track and the message of the album, this is a continuation of their coming-of-age story. The five boys who made a promise to be together as children went their separate ways, grew up, fell in love, had their hearts broken, tried to grow up...and when all of that was getting to be too much and seemed impossible, they managed to find their way back to each other (see: the scenes where the members are waking up looking disturbed and frantic followed by the shots of Taehyun, Soobin, and Hyuka running towards Yeonjun while he's trying to reach them but is moving backwards). In the end, their friendship (Beomgyu sparkling like their star) ends up saving Yeonjun before he loses himself, and they all remember their promise and are able to move forward together.

I know on Weverse & other sources it stated, ♥
"the past that remains in their memories stops them from accepting reality just as it is. They want to keep believing that they were young princes, even if nobody would believe them. And reality is here to aggressively eliminate this wish. This is how they become overcome with an emotion that is neither just sadness nor rage." One of the lyrics mention the worn ‘Anemoia’ which means nostalgia for a time or place you’ve never experienced. In the title track, TXT mourns the lost time spent running away from the promises they made. They ask the listeners for a way to dream again. So, ‘anemoia’ signifies the group’s yearning to reminisce about their old dreams.
The lyrics depict a narrative of running away out of fear, but ultimately finding solace and clarity in the familiarity of a deep connection.
This album is perfect.
People have said that the Deja Vu concept is from The Little Prince.

So a quick recap: In temptation, they’re tempted by the devil the odd eyed cat, to stay to the magic island, also known as their very own neverland and never grow up but they eventually fought the temptation and fell back to reality. In Freefall, they started living in reality while facing difficulties, trying to find the magic, while continually “chasing that feeling” amidst all the chaos that they finally accepted as a part of their life.
Now, we head to the end of the name chapter, Minisode 3 TOMORROW, this comeback references heavily to a book so dear to my heart, The Little Prince / Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is a story about a Prince who travels planets to gain wisdom, befriends a fox and a pilot on his way. The main message of the story is about not forgetting to be kind, to not be eaten by worldly things as an adult, and so many. The whole concept of this story was originally the main template of the whole storyline of TXT based on other MOAs. Deja vu in my own interpretation of lore was about them slowly drifting to their promise as time have passed and they got used to their life, but meeting each other made them remember their promise, a whole “deja vu”. I believe the name chapter is all about remembering their “true names” the names that they have swore under the star, as they dream of a brighter tomorrow. In the story eternity arc is about them drifting away, chaos chapter was all about what happens when they’re alone and don’t have each other’s back. They forget their promise, their friendship, and their true name. We drk what’s that true name is but it sure was connected to their powers working together, summoning the star and defeating the main antagonistic force of the story, the dragon. Nap of the star was basically a prophetic music video in my view, something that tells us what’s all plot points of their whole story in one synopsis. Boys promising to the star, they separated, Yeonjun in danger, others having their own problems as well, at the end they find each other. As we can see, it is umm… missing some pieces but again, like a prophecy, it’s mostly about the main happenings, not the details.
Yeonjun is their warrior and he does sacrificed a lot that’s why he is always the one in great danger than others, while Beomgyu is the healer, he is the one who can always easily see clearly and he does have a relic of key and a treasure of some sorts in the frost mv where they saw the future with the tarot given by the mysterious man.
One thing that you also need to know is that the storyline might have multiple timelines cause they might’ve been in reset for multiple times, as some MOAs including me was theorized because of the difference between the official manhwa and Wattpad of their star seekers series. Both stories are different but some aspects are the same which connects them together as alternate timeline… timelines that I assume won’t go well and will end in tragedy like in magic island mv probably. The thing is Beomgyu looks like he is always isolated and trapped or something always stopped him from interacting with the others, especially Yeonjun, but he is also the healer, that’s why it’s all of a mess it is. Though in the Deja Vu mv, he looks like he finally have the chance to save Yeonjun and he did. But yeah… this is too long and this is my interpretation of the mv. I’m sure other MOAs had a lot to include in this so I’ll give the mic to them. Bye have a nice day, thanks for attending my Ted talk.

Oh, and I just wanna add this theory I saw from Instagram:
There are two Beomgyus in the mv, the current timeline Beom and the past timeline older Beom.
Beomgyu’s long haired all shiny version might’ve been the future and/or past Beomgyu (since the universe was reset a couple of times, it’s an older Beomgyu from past timeline), he is showing up to the members dream cause they remember needing his help but they don’t know why, but take not that he isn’t a ghost since in the current timeline Beomgyu is alive, he is merely his subconscious living inside the current Beomgyu. He appears to other’s dreams cause they subconsciously remember what had happened from the possible future from the past timelines, and he especially appears in his own self’s dream cause he is actually warning Beomgyu about what he needed to do. He eventually listens and made things right.

For interpretation this is what i see:
In all the title tracks, they are seeing how special it is to be together under the star or on the Magic Island.
Unfortunately as we have continued , things got dark, and Yeonjun started doing things like driving off of cliffs.
Recently, it’s getting better. They found a great island with Sugar Rush Ride and in Chasing that Feeling YJ only has a cut on his hand.

Overall, YJ starts as a boy, running in his nightmare with a deja vu for somewhere he’s never been (anemoia). He’s running until he can’t anymore. Everyone else is dreaming. At the same time, they all awaken. YJ can’t hold on any longer. The him that knew he’d be there (see the Little Prince) is already waiting and saves him. They are together again on.. what appears to be their Magic Island.
Ok here are some details from this video.
remember the Peter Pan concept video where they’re in a cozy bedroom and it starts to shake then HK jumps out the window? Looks like he landed here in the blue sand or water in this video.
To me the metal bars look like they are back under the swimming pool in Run Away, or in a 3d depiction of 4d, space. They are traveling through space and time, like in that animation of (is it Eternally?) where they’re each on a train? and one by one they go outside. This whole mv is like that. The girl in white save Soobin once before. The girlish or ghostly figure has appeared other times.
Much more recently in the Japanese version of Sugar Rush Ride, they leave a forest, and Soobin’s asleep in the back seat.
At some point in here they’re dreaming, they’re falling, and ever trying survive together on their Magic Island (which looks like or is the Blue Hour land)
That’s as much as I can weave it with other music videos. It also ties with The Little Prince. I haven’t read the webtoon.
unrelated, their costume for the dance looks like lace used as bandages, tied as ballerina embellishments. I think it’s so pretty, especially around their boots
