She was one of the judges on American Idol but she is one of the biggest pop stars of the 80’s early 90’s…she did a lot of the choreography for Janet Jackson
She was the most prolific choreographer of the 80's and 90's. She started out as a cheerleader, and became the lead choreographer for the Laker Girls. The Jackson's saw her at one of the L.A. Laker games and hired her to choreograph the soon to be released "Torture" and the time. She later choreographed Michael Jackson and then sister Janet Jackson. She choreographed the Tribal African dance scene in Coming to America with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. Also choreographed Cuba Good, Jr.'s touchdown scene in the movie Jerry MaGuire. Paula has choreographed so many important events, and on/off Broadway, and The Oscars.
That was fantastic!!! Gotta love Paula!! Her choreography is stellar! Combined with her dancing and singing. A true inspiration for dancers. Fun fact as already mentioned in the comments Paula has choreographed for Janet Jackson among others. She is back on the scene better than ever (actually never really left) looking forward to seeing what she creates artistically in the near future!! Thanks Hap, for the very enthusiastic reaction!! 💜🎵💜🎵 loved it!!
The choreography for this video is heavily inspired by Bob Fosse’s choreography for the “Take Off with Us” scene in the movie *All That Jazz* (a semi-autobiography loosely based on Fosse’s own career).
I haven't heard this in ages!!! I love when the singers know how to move too and Paula is a fantastic dancer! The video is just captivating! (the lady in the jury seemed to be most affected by the performance lol) It's Always a treat to revisit the 80's music! 👍😊
Wow, throwback to 1988. Definitely has a Rythmn Nation vibes. I don't recall having ever heard this song before. Loving the choice Deni!! Hap, she was an original judge on American Idol and very popular. Thanks for the fun reaction!!🎶💥🥳
Fantastic song choice, Deni, which is a prime example of great music of an era. Very lively and catchy and I loved those string instruments too. Yes, and she can definitely dance, a feast for the eyes😜. I haven't heard this song in years and never seen this video. It reminds me of the film Flashdance and the scene where Marine Jahan is dancing to the song from Irene Cara in front of a similar jury, and leaves them speechless. Great reaction HAP, and just right to cheer us up today 🤩🙋🏻♀.
So funny thing about you bringing up Janet Jackson! Paula Abdul taught her how to dance! I love her dancing in this one she is really good in opposites attract love that video l!😊
Your reaction was great! Is she ahead of her time? I think so. It seems artists are using some sort of this choreography in today's videos. You mentioned Janet Jackson. If I'm not mistaken, she choreographed some of her videos. She was a judge on American Idol and went crazy over Adam Lambert. First time seeing this video. Thank you, Deni! As always, thank you, Hap! ✌️ ☮️ 🥷
Bang on with the Janet Jackson connection. Although, It would be more accurate to say that Janet Jackson was influenced by Paula Abdul, considering the latter choreographed the former.

Paula Abdul began as a choreographer and a Laker Girl. She actually choreographed for Janet Jackson
She also had a minor on-screen appearance in Janet's video for "Nasty"
She's was brought on to teach Janet how to dance. #tea

Most reactors first experience of paula is her first single straight up the official video.
her first single isn't Straight Up. Straight Up is her first successful single tho!
@@maverickblah it's the first one that was successful enough for everyone to notice in the UK.

Paula did a lot of Janet Jacksons choreography
Great reaction and commentary.
Love this from my childhood
It says she wrote that song in 1989 the whole album was written by her in 1989
She was Janet Jackson's Choroegrapher for her Control era.
I drove this car the other day, a Fireo/Furrrario or something. Anyway it had a real Lamborghini vibe.
American idol with Simon Cowell.
Paula Abdul taught Janet Jackson all she knows in dancing. Paula choreographed a load of Janet's songs.
Thats still my crush, im 47. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
I actually prefer Paula’s music over Janet’s.
