    Elle you would have been a fantastic parent. But sometimes life has other plans for us. Honestly, you're like a caring mother to me and help me to sleep with your videos. It's also lovely to know more about you. Thank you for everything you do and I hate tapping too ,That's one reason I follow you ❤😊

    I cannot believe I'm only just discovering you! I am strongly questioning my algorithms. So relaxing and I think you may have what I consider to be the best voice for ASMR ever.
    Paper sounds are some of my favorites also and Im totally with you about the sound preferences all around. I'm constantly searching for videos that suit my preferences and here they are - you've made them! Lol
    Thank you for sharing with us! Also thank you for this treasure trove of videos - I'm so excited to delve into them! 🫶✨

    I was also going to guess that you were a schoolteacher. You are so well-versed on fashion and current trends, and talented in many different crafts. I never thought librarian but I can see you excelling in that too. You're the best!

    I have been watching your channel for a few years now and have often wondered some of these things about you, especially about how you came to do ASMR. I too hate tapping and the weird mic sounds that other artists make, I prefer your style to anybody else but will check out the channels mentioned. Thanks for sharing so much with us, I know some of the stories are deeply personal. You are so lucky your husband is understanding, I’m pretty sure mine thinks I’m nuts, he doesn’t get ASMR at all!! Aren’t we lucky that you like to make these videos, thank you so much and the Shasta short videos are adorable. 💜 ♥️ 🧡 💛

    Hi Elle, fun to get to know you. We have a lot of similarities. I grew up on the East Coast, but have lived the last 45 years in Northern California. I think I told you before, I’m a retired library assistant from a No Cal public library. I have identical ASMR triggers as you. Love the natural sounds of handling paper, hate tapping and the exaggerated sounds and gestures some ASMR UA-camrs make. My earliest memory of ASMR was sitting in a doctor’s waiting room and zoning out to people flipping through the magazines. What a kick to find out decades later there’s a name for those tingles I always got. Seriously thought I was the only one! And, omg, I had the same experience in 2nd grade. We had a Halloween party in class and I had a princess costume on, long dress. It was the end of the day and the teacher wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom. We were standing in line and I wet my pants. I was so embarrassed. I’ve hated authority ever since!

      Oh that is so funny! We are kindred spirits in many ways. Glad to know I wasn’t the only second grader in the world that happened to! Thanks for sharing your experiences. How’s your retirement going, do you keep busy?

      @@elle.emm.asmr. I retired in 2016. I remember a few retired patrons saying to me I’d be bored in no time and would want to be back at work. I thought at the time, are you kidding me? I haven’t been bored one second in the last eight years. I’m an introvert and like to spend a lot of time alone with my many hobbies. Art journaling and collage, coloring, jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking, crochet. Honestly, there’s not enough hours in the day. To me, work was boring and I hated all the politics and ass kissing going on around me. So not me! I wish I could have retired at 36 instead of 66.

    • @elle.emm.asmr.
      @elle.emm.asmr.  5 місяців тому +2

      Sounds like my kind retirement! Good for you. I used to have a retirement fantasy about having a big craft room with a big stash of all kinds of supplies, with large windows overlooking a lake or river, the sun would stream in, a window seat where I could cozy up and read. ☀️ ☀️ and lots of flowers all around.

    I too watch the same ASMR videos repeatedly. The weeding-out process is so stinking laborious that I just can't. When I first read an article about asmr, I thought my head might explode. I thought I was the only one! Aside from yours, I enjoy mostly page-turning videos with either an unaffected whisper or voice because that recreates the sort of ASMR experience that I first enjoyed as a kid, swooning in Homemakers, the local sewing store, as local matrons leafed through pattern books. Again, who knew others were swooning too? By the by, have you read Louise Penny or Richard Osman? Penny's genre is whodunit, with a delightful cast of characters and a charming setting. So is Osman's, actually. They're both gently humorous, which I love. Osman's are especially funny. P.S. I had a blog for a while, and my first story was about the time in 1966 that I wet my pants during class after Sister Anonymous denied my request to visit the loo. I'm almost over it. P.P.S. Glad you're ordering the peasant blouse. 😊

      Thanks for sharing Chris! It’s funny how so many ppl have a similar story about asmr, how they thought they were the only one with these odd sensations. I haven’t heard of Homemakers, the fabric store where I grew up was called the Loom. I just love fabric stores! I haven’t read Penny or Osman, I don’t read many mysteries usually. I’ve heard of Penny though, she’s popular in the library. Hadn’t heard of Osman before, will check him out.

      Thank you! Very kind of you to say. I’ll check out Relaxing ASMR, it sounds like exactly what I like. It can be hard to find that type… I sometimes think it would be great to have some kind of catalog system for asmr videos so it would be easy to search and find what you’re looking for. That’s the librarian in me talking. 😄

      I didn’t say this in the video cause I didn’t want to start crying, but my mom and I both loved Fall. Since I lost her it now makes me so sad when the fall air comes. 🍁

    • @pammiasmr9068
      @pammiasmr9068 5 місяців тому +3

      I thought maybe that was the reason. Very difficult I know to deal with. For me it's my Dad's passing that gets me. As we get older we collect more and more memories, good and bad, and seasons, places, and smells can really bring things up. So glad you still like Fall though❤.

    Dear Elle, thank you for sharing ❤ We share a lot of things. Same profession, Italy, Life of Pi, ASMR sounds (it was always paper and soft whispering for me too). I follow Maria too, but her older videos are the best, I agree.
    My absolute favourite is Moonlight Cottage. She is unique. Please watch! No tapping, her voice is mesmerising and her videos are always surprising and very relaxing...
    We have different taste in music 😉 It's world music and classical for me.
    I was so sorry to hear about your children wish...that's so hard.
    It's a pity we live so far away from each other. I think I said it before, but we would probably get real good friends. ❤

      Thanks Sonja! I will check out Moonlight Cottage, I love the name sounds very cozy! What kind of world music is your favorite? I sometimes listen to different things like Arabic belly dancing music, Hawaiian music, reggae, bossa nova, etc. I do like a lot of different things, but rock music was what I grew up to and will always love.

    Oh my gosh Elle we are so similar it’s spooky! From the ASMR triggers (and reason for them - for me, my nana, but Butterick patterns just them same!), to the TV we like, to… regrets 😢 If it wasn’t for our musical tastes diverging quite so far, I’d think this was the alien simulation messing with me! 😂 Thank you for this and all your videos (I didn’t get a question in in time but if i had it would have been ‘what breed is Shasta and where does her name come from?’) Take care, enjoy your weekend! Cat xxx

      Oh thank you my dear!! That is soo nice of you I appreciate it! 🥰
      Shasta is a mix of miniature poodle and yorkie. We adopted her at 10 weeks old. Her mom was a poodle who was rescued from a shelter when she was pregnant! We had her dna tested later on to find out the yorkie part. We named her Shasta partly from her white color, which reminded me of Shasta daisies which are a favorite, also because my dad has a place near Mt Shasta. PS I always liked Butterick patterns the best. Very nostalgic to think about that now since it’s been years since I’ve sewn anything other than mending. 🧵 🪡 👗
