MICHAEL BRECKER IS A GOD
no he is a buddha
but his brother too
whole band is buddha like
Dennis Chambers, Mike Stern and the always awesome Michael Brecker. They're definitely some of my heroes.
Thank you Michael Brecker for all you did.
michael brecker has the tighest fucking embouchure in the galaxy and gets the nastiest tone you could ever ask for out of a tenor sax
We'll never have 2 brothers like them!! is amazing how good the two became! Real musicians!!! Rip Michael that was a really talented person!! i hope there is music in the heaven, so we can watch you live!!
You will never see or hear a better Tenor sax then Breaker. What a great loss, had so much more in the tank.
I was not expecting it at that tempo, wow!
Wow!RIP Michael
Greatest band of their generation
СУППЕР!!! С детства Кайфую!!!
Good grief! I'd lose my place trying to keep up with this. One of their best performances ever!
One of the best lineups of all time
Давно так не кайфовала!

THIS WORLD MISS U MICHAEL BRECKER.
What a song!!!
I haven't heard of the Brecker Brothers before, although the song name "Skunk Funk" feels vaguely familiar. Anyway so my brain's oozing out of my ears, feels like I've had a mind orgasm. God DAMN that was awesome
still hits the same 11 years later haha
This is an amazing piece of music! Excellent! Thank you for putting this up!
ОТРЫВ ГОЛОВЫ!!!

awsesome:D
that change at 2:14 holy shit
Yeah, it's just amazing how he can launch into his improvisations like that.
Tom Parker yeah best example being his solo on slick stuff...MB is crazy!
the best of the best.
This is a Dreamteam!
Great mix! This sounds incredible!
Best of best sax solo!
What a tour de force!
I used to think Brecker just stole Coltrane's approach. Not any more. One of a kind MB..
結局今でもこの曲が一番好きです
Monster sax!!!

Back in high school, there was a jazz musician who proclaimed that the only true jazz was Dixieland 😆
Woof!!!...That is all!!
ほんとかっこいいな
今度やります
Smokin'
Good to know I'm not the only one who has ever rushed 8th note runs. Thanks guys!
they’re so tight what are you talking about lmao
Extra hot and spicy version of the song and Dennis speed up the tempo!
2:32 is the coolest lick I've EVER heard!
For me that title goes to Michael’s entrance to his solo on slick stuff from back to back
@gjbsaxman94 Just because they're trolls doesn't mean they're stupid!! These guys are gods!!!
3:04, Round 2. :P
Michael Brecker can play some of the dankest shit
@Urmomrocks159 in all tonalities
dennis chambers looks like he is in NWA at this point
Jesus...
@ChokDK noooo :D he isn't yawning, that just can't be. No, no human can yawn when playing this music but this only confirms my believe that these people do not share the same DNA you and I do.
Hey, I don't know Steve Jobs was a good sax player too haha!! LOL
Anyone know if this is on a cd? What's it called?
anyone wanna transpose that solo?
1:02 3:01 3:04
intense performance! bass player doesnt seem to think so though...sneaks in a yawn at 4.40
@hedgepigs well if there are goatburgers involved, how could i say no!
@trumpetdumpet hello can you help me describe this song i have to write a paragraph for my class and i dont know how to explain this song, thank u
me doing the same 10 years later! lol
コピー挑戦中だがコルトレーンよりえげつないよ・・・ブレッカー様。
Mike on this was amazing but his solo of live recordings on cds from 70s on this tune was even way better than this! I know it's hard to believe but it's more tight and in context and he uses a waa pedal with his sax.. check it out ye all! this is from the 80s where his style changed a bit. he's incredible but the 70s cd version (live) was the best version I ever heard of his solol.
@nicobroue Welcome. There is a lot more stuff out there to discover by many artists. Be sure to check out Bob Mintzer playing with the Yellowjackets. Super sick for sure!!
what can I say
yah :)
lol
01:10 Eric Cantonna???? LOL
wild flower wayne shorter? a little way in
Great jazz, but earlier version Drummer Richie M. and bass player in jeans, much more in the mud. thanks just my opiñion. Jimmy Strassburg
how did trollers find out about this music? lol
haha :D
@TheBobcatlover hahahah i think i'll pass :P
i prefer N-DUBZ
Ridiculous stuff
The problem is your guy, so it's simple, just don't watch the video
It's ridiculous that you don't know how to play like him
Good tune - but much too fast. Doesn´t groove as good as in the original Tempo!
Yeah, it's a good 20 beats a minute faster. Still awesome to watch and listen to though.
+Nie Mand This is the 2nd live version I've watched and thought the same thing. The first time. I mean it's Dennis Chambers, if it's fast it's because they wanted it fast. Obviously the head is rushed and to your point I think the groove suffers too but I think the payoff here is for the solo sections. They are much more lively and attacking molto allegro! My name is Mr. Funk and I approve this message.
Don't know if I agree. This was the first version of this tune I heard, and to me is so much more intense than the "original." It didn't seem like anyone had a problem with this tempo.
yeah, I thought the same thing first time I heard it. The cats are bad and it's phenomenally executed but it isn't funk when performed like this. I feel sorry for the bass player.
Peter Paul you shouldn't. James genus tours with Herbie Hancock. he can hang just fine on this tune
I'm speechless!
I can the part between 2:59 - 3:01!
I look at the thumbnail pic for this video, and I see George Costanza. Anyone else see it?
haha yeah that’s weird
i would enjoy soloing to this...
@hedgepigs but N-DUBZ put down some serious shit! it's taking gangsta rap to the next level! all this is doing is playing a cover! it doesn't take any skill at all to do this, unlike rapping!
for those looking for the cd this is on, idk...but i know it's on the brecker brothers edition of an Aeborsold book, which is great for learning how to play this tune, it comes with a background disc to play over. The book has it in several different keys depending on what instrument you play. and it comes with other songs by the brecker bros. like straphangin'. Idk if this was helpful to anyone, but just saying what i'm using.
4:40 wtf is that bass player doing there? lol
simplesmente"SENSACIONAL"!!!!!!!!
ufffff dios
Insane
3:32. enough said.
Can you download this as an mp3 anywhere??
