Story 2: Did this man really just say his wife should reschedule her c-section for a couple weeks early?? Those poor twins would be struggling to breathe in the NICU if they’re born prematurely. This man is absurd. I cannot imagine the level of narcissism that goes into a suggestion like this.

Dude clearly doesn’t understand what his wife is going through and what is about to come. I would DEMAND my husband tell me what the fuck is going on. I was getting major weaponized incompetence vibes. I doubt the therapist said anything negative about OP. I think the husband is just pissed off that his wife is finally growing a spine and asserting her needs and now he doesn't get to be a spoiled child. So now he's made up how this therapist is saying OP is doesn't appreciate him so things can go back to how he wants. Honestly if he doesn't even have a therapist at all it wouldn't surprise me. Dude is a massive manipulator.

Story 3 sounds like he enjoyed the daddy thing because it made him feel like he was in control in the relationship, and that he was OP's actual superior in life, that he could order her around and belittle her. The fact that she asserted herself as an equal adult during the move broke his illusion. That's why he said "it's not our dynamic anymore", because it basically translates to "I stopped seeing you as this thing I could control to my pleasure, now I see you as an adult who can make independent choices and disagree with me, you're not a 'good girl' anymore because you weren't obedient".

    • @georgiamcenoy9431

He told me he wouldn’t hesitate to bring hell on any of them if they fucked with me the way OP’s brother did. Story 2 - I **NEED** to believe that this story is simply Rage Bait. Cause that’s absurd

    • @Ciela531
      @Ciela531 9 місяців тому +29

Like seriously y’all, how is that guy still married?? (Especially since it seemed like he wants to be a dad to these kids given they tried for so many years and finally had a successful IVF, he should be ECSTATIC and not want to leave her or the kids side)
Just a few things I find way too absurd given how OP presented the story but makes himself seem like a complete idiot that I pray it was just Rage bait -
      1. Asking her to move up the delivery date by a couple weeks, like it’s just any old regular doctor’s appointment! Does he not understand that she is growing their children and those twins will need as long as possible??
      2. Twins are a risky birth, and she’s apparently already having other health complications, which is why they’re going with C-section I assume. Often times, c-section babies/ twins especially will need to spend hours - days in the NICU just to make sure they are fully stable, all organs have fully developed, and that the babies are safe to go home.
      3. She’s having a C-SECTION! She needs to be on strict bed rest for several days/ a few weeks in order to heal and shouldn’t be lifting anything that weighs more than 5 pounds. How’s she supposed to make herself food?? Let alone take care of 2 NEWBORNS!!
      4. That first month after birth is when new moms are at their highest risk for developing Post Partum Depression. And he wants to leave her ALONE to deal with 2 newborns and all of the stress that comes with that???
Seriously this dude doesn’t understand pregnancy or childbirth/ raising children, and it genuinely terrifies me that he would even consider leaving his wife alone to go manage a secret family mission, let alone write about it on Reddit AFTER having dared to ask his wife about it (I feel SO bad for her).
His family definitely sounds like controlling narcissists. I grew up with parents similar to this, where I would feel awful if I didn’t drop things and prioritize my family. And I’d justify with things like “oh I really want to see them”, “oh they really need me there”, “I don’t want to disappoint them”, “family is so important!”
Thankfully I met a great guy who kindly but blatantly showed me how much I was being taken advantage of and needed to grow a backbone (I was a doormat y’all 😅). An amazing counselor was also extremely helpful for getting through it 🤍
Anyways it definitely seems like some controlling behaviors are happening here with his family and he’s just convinced himself that they should take priority because that’s what he grew up believing. It takes a something massive sometimes to shatter that view. Hopefully Reddit was able to open this dude’s eyes (if it was a true story - gotta stay optimistic on this one though because otherwise it just breaks my heart for that mom)

Story 6 made me so sad for Lola and OP. I have Narcolepsy and it is truly so debilitating, stigmatized, and misunderstood as is. Besides being chronically exhausted, Narcolepsy causes HORRIFYINGLY vivid nightmares, hallucinations, sleep paralysis, etc. I get startled just by my husband getting up in the night. So I cannot even imagine the terror she must have been feeling waking up to that.
But narcolepsy affects our significant others as well as they often have to pick up our slack, be care takers, and be extra flexible to cater to our sleep. it sounds like OP was actually understanding and a good partner to her and his family ruined it for him. There may be more to the story but I do feel badly that Lola did break up with him

Story 3: I am a therapist who works with couples and specializes in queer, kink, fetish, and poly dynamics. Unfortunately sometimes when someone becomes accustomed to the power they feel when doing dom play, they begin to bring it out when there is conflict in the relationship in order to feel powerful and punish the sub outside of specified/consensual circumstances. It is a true power play instead of a powerful play-pretend.

For story number 3: That is NOT what a kinky relationship looks like. Bigs and Littles should have equal respect for one another. In any sort of relationship where one person has more “control”, everything should be consented to. The Big should have a full understanding of what the Little is comfortable with and what is completely off limits. Especially when they are living this way, day to day. I love that BDSM is becoming more of an accepted thing, but it has the drawback of controlling and abusive people, like this guy, having access to a way to abuse people and call it “kink”. The community that this belongs to would tear that guy to shreds. BDSM should be talked about and what is and isn’t okay as ‘punishment’. The community is all about communication and consent. This guy made my blood boil.
For anyone who wants to engage in play like this or daily kink, please join your local BDSM community group. It’s not only for protection from people like this, it’s also a beautiful way to learn about how to safely enjoy such an intimate thing. Stay safe out there 💜

When his brother finally “comes clean” he says that he made a bunch of noise and then SCREAMED in her face, but no one recounts hearing the brother scream BEFORE hearing the girlfriend scream. It doesn’t make sense to me. I 100% believe he at least TRIED to sexually assault her, why else would she break up with her boyfriend after he proved to his whole family that she was right and he fought for her?

Story 3: Okay going to address the kink part of this first. As someone who is on the DD side of the DD/lg slash, i'm just going to assume that this was a dynamic that they were both seeking out at the start of the relationship. Setting aside the other context here, I would never tell my partner to not call me Daddy (or an equivalent substitute term) when i'm upset. And if I felt like the trust had been so irrevocably broken that I couldn't continue with such an integral "bit" of our relationship, then it'd be time to consider breaking up.
Now, with the extra context. There are several red flags for me here. The biggest of which is just the complete lack of disrespect he showed OP at every step of this packing/moving process. Like with her having a few days of her having work after the move date, I didn't hear how far they were moving but like if it's in the same town/state it's fairly reasonable for her to find a co-worker to crash with for a few nights on the same shift and get rides to/from her job that way, and then come pick her up in the evening/on a day off.
Morgan is totally right on the controlling thing. A -lot- of men use BDSM dynamics to control their women. Something that perked my ears up is the mention that they are (at least it sounds like) both christians. I'm not sure if this is the case here, but it's not super uncommon in the kink community to see people in christian relationships introduce BDSM, and you get 2 layers of the patriarchal "the man is the ultimate ruler of the household" type of vibe, which even if it's not my thing, I don't have a problem with on it's face. The problem comes in when you have abusive, disrespectful emotionally stunted men engaged in those roles, you get situations like this, and far worse.
(gotta leave for a bit but will come back and edit in more thoughts later if I think of anything later or hearing the rest of morgan + lauren's thoughts or there's more context in the post i missed)

So for the younger brother to specifically target them on something they struggle with. Especially because who knows her past and what could’ve caused her to have sleeping problems and it easily could’ve triggered something and caused her to react the way she did. And for the rest of the family to villainize her and wants an explanation is an invasion of her privacy. That’s awful. I feel so bad for her and I couldn’t even imagine being in that position.

I don't have children, but a couple years ago (almost to the date lol) I went through a procedure that is pretty much a C-section for health related reasons, and the first week or so after the surgery I couldn't even strip out of some my clothes without help from my mom, because it would risk opening the stitches and it hurted so much to bend and etc. I cried all the time because everything hurted so bad and I felt so confined, I couldn't laugh, or cough or sneeze without crying of sheer pain, i had to ask for help if i dropped the TV remote on the floor accidentally or if i needed something that was a little further down on the refrigerator, I can only imagine how much harder it is to go through that while also having to care for two newborn babies, if my SO even suggested leaving me alone for some secretive reason less than a week after i delivered our babies, he'd be getting divorce papers with those plane tickets.

For the 3rd story, I don't participate in ddlg, but as someone who is a part of the bdsm community this is why things like kink etiquette and safe words exist. It is important, especially for kink dynamics that exist outside of the bedroom, to have a fully flushed out conversation about what is expected for this dynamic, what are hard nos, negotiating and setting boundaries, etc. And these conversations should be happening multiple times throughout your relationship.

Heard this one before and everyone was in agreement that the bride would refuse to give it back. It was split with she would say it was a gift from OP and she would say it had sentimental value now that it was part of her wedding. But either way, I can see OP’s parents telling her to let it go whether it has sentimental value to OP or not. Gotta keep the peace and not upset the newest member of the family! What utter BS…tell them if they care so much about SIL being happy, “they” can go buy her a name brand purse for their gift!!!

I didn’t even know Daddy was a sexual thing until my mid teens.
I needed my bio dads attention, so I innocently poked my head in and said “Hey daddy!”
Context: The Little Mermaid has always been my favourite movie (OUR favourite movie) and throughout the entire movie Ariel calls Triton daddy. I always thought it was cute and endearing.
He immediately got upset and demanded I never cal him that again. Zero explanation. I was actually pretty gutted. I was just trying to be sweet and he turned it into something sexual (something he did a lot lol).
I’m into the soft DD/LG (the irony I know I have daddy issues) and something I’ve noticed is you have to be so careful when looking for a partner. A lot of these men don’t want partners to roleplay with. They want an emotionally vulnerable, naive woman they can easily manipulate.

If I were to be in that kind of relationship, and I am calling my significant other daddy, I think the only time I would stop calling him that is when we have children. But if it was such a big part of the relationship, and now it is Tainted and you can't call him that, I say just call it quits. It's never gonna be the way it was again. Doesn't seem like he wants to make it work out. After listening to the edit LEAVE HIM. Fuck that dude

First story - The symptoms the husband was talking about seems A LOT like Pathological Demand Avoidance. It's an autistic trait but not limited to just autism, I have it and it is debilitating. Basically, anyone who's had a bad boss understands the feeling of being commanded / shouted at to do things, and the anxiety it gives you. Now imagine that feeling after everything, either your brain over-reacting to something someone asked you to do or a voice in your head being that shouting boss. So yeah, finishing an email could be weaponised incompetence, or he could be getting anxious thoughts that if he ends the email the wrong way he'd be fired and his wife would leave him.
It gets better with therapy - but it only really got better when I had a name to what I was feeling. And like with everything in autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance is under-researched so a lot of therapists don't even know it exists. I've gotten used to calm breaths and debating my head-voice in the mirror, but it took years of work and education and I still slip sometimes.

The guy in the story 6 gets me like...has he ever scared any other family members or friends by frightening them out of sleep??? That's obviously not normal behavior- and genuinely not even a prank when there's nobody else in the room aside from the person you're, "pranking"- who was he, "sharing the laughs"with when there's nobody around to see it...
Seems like he just wanted to harm her- knowing full well she had a health concern that specifically affected her sleep.
Knowing that this person was older than a pre-teen, let alone a post-college aged adult... Makes it 10x more frightening; the saddest part is the actual boyfriend seems really nice, even standing up for his girlfriend before he even knew the full story from her (literally BECAUSE he was respecting her and giving her the time she said she needed to think-he wasn't bugging her and trying to talk to her until she was ready)

Anyways, the older sister rlly sounds like a piece of work-can’t believe she didn’t apologize… ever.
