Though I'm also definitely part of this minority which is weird because a lot of times the minority of 'fans' of a lot of my favorite shows disappoint me because it's the minority opinions that real fans DON’T want that these companies listen to, not the ones we do...😔😞 (except for the whole somewhat open-world (won't TRULY be an open-world pokemon game til we have every region ever at least the ones that exist lol) pokemon games 🥲🥰)
to be honest i feel like the final evolution is gonna be close ties to spriggans. maybe an upright standing form with big claws. possibly looking as intimidating as pokemon can look without scaring kids. or it could be a mix of bipedal and quadrupedal stances. on the plus side maybe the cat pokemon uses its claws like a fencing sword. then again there might already be a fencing pokemon out there. heck the duck just has as much chance at that fencing bit. i could imagine a duck/swan/goose final evolution that has a water/ice sword it summons out of no where. as the whole that would remove the resistances to the fire starter we do no specifically know how things are going down.

I think the problem is not that it may turn bipedal. There's great bipedal Starters. BUT if it looks too human, people get mad. They just mistake it as a bipedal-problem, when it's more a human feature problem.
Yeah the only bipedal starters people have a problem with are incineroar and the gen 8 starters. What do they have in common? They all look very humanoid. And because they're all bipedal, people think it's a problem with pokemon being bipedal

The only one that isn't a dog shit over designed mess that looks like an actual pokemon is Rilaboom. Because at least he's just a literal ape so ya no fucking shit he looks "human", how the hell else is something that is literally in the same species genotype as us supposed to look? At least he still looks like an animal though. But Cinderace is just a guy in a fucking trix the rabbit furr suit. While Intellion just looks fucking creepy with its weird skin tuxedo and it's weirdly lanky ass body. They just don't look like actual pokemon that's the problem it has nothing to do with them being humanoid designs.

Fun facts: Lechonk is actually heavily based on the actual pigs, Lechón.
These pigs are used for Jamón Serrano.
The professors are based on past and future with professor "Sada" for pasada which is past in Spanish and "Turo" short for futuro.

I really can’t pick which game to get. Both legendarys are cool, but I like the more rugged look of the past Pokémon, but I do like the color purple. I also like the Scarlet professor.

So long as the design is solid I'd probably be okay with either bi- or quadruped evolutions, that being said I would prefer some more animalistic designs for this gen, considering the last 3 gens all had 3 very humanoid final evo's.

Koraidon for me is a design that's gone *so* wild it's gone beyond "clustered and unappealing" and come full circle to "fun and entertaining"
I prefer Lugia to Ho-Oh for the simplicity, but man this hits me just right on the other end of the spectrum

Hey random questiom but how does a Legends Arceus/Arkoos nuzlocke work since it's different from traditional Pokemon gameplay?
I think Moxie's rules were
- if a Pokemon faints it's dead
- each overworld area (Grandwood, Horseshoe Tracks, Nature's Pantry) each count as their own encounter
- Moxie can choose which Pokemon he wants to catch in each area
- if Moxie himself dies in a boss fight he releases a Pokemon
- drowning doesn't count as a death unless you are in red health before you drown

I love love love spit evolutions, so I'd definitely be for that, but it's more likely that it's simply because it's rare and more interesting than another pure Grass (valid reason in itself). I won't be surprised if Normal turns into a different type though.

Yeah, like people hate on the Galar starters for being too humanoid (I don't even really see it with Rillaboom tbh). Inteleon should be humanoid - it's a spy, and that makes perfect sense for a chameleon Pokémon. I'm probably biased because Inteleon is my favourite starter, but at the same time that shows how much I liked the design.
I also love Cinderace, thanks in part to the Journeys anime. I could go on and on about this whole bipedal starter thing lol. I don't hate any starters myself, so maybe that's why I don't understand the hate for bipedal starters, but I just don't get it.

Reason 1: I have very fond relations of my Taíno heritage, so I love the aesthetic of Scarlett being so focused on the past.
Reason 2: While Fuecoco gives me friend vibes, and Sprigatito is a cat..... I dunno something about Quaxly is calling to me, maybe it's just how different he feels?

Raikou, Entei and Suicune are NOT dogs. They are, in fact, based on cats!
Raikou is obviously based on a tiger.
Entei is based on a lion.
Suicune is based on a leopard (which explains the diamond spots).
Trivia from Bulbapedia (origin):

Also, the Shinx family ARE CATS!!! They are based on lynxes and lions! They even PURR!!!!
I also think that, if a cat is to be bipedal, to not look too human or Sonic-like or whatever, it looks less like a Pokémon and more like another fantasy creature that just talks, but it doesn't. I don't really like Cinderace's design coz it looks like a person in a costume, same reason why I don't like Delphox, Braixen or Incineroar (though the latter also because it looks like a Looney Toons character).
There is a possibility that Sprigatito's final evo isn't going to stand on 2 legs, coz it isn't a Fire Starter.
All the Fire Starters' final evos stand on 2 legs, but not all Grass Starters or Water Starters do that, so there is hope for, say, a sabertooth cat final evo, standing on all four. Or a lynx, as long as it stands on all four.
I'm also getting both games, but I'm playing Violet first, and I am totally going with Quaxly first, I LOVE DONALD DUCK AND THAT LITTLE THING IS FABULOUS~!!!
He's gonna be a fabulous pirate/musketeer, and I am certain he's going to be a Water/Fighting type and not Water/Flying like many may think initially, coz we have SO MANY FREAKING WATER/FLYING TYPES, but I think we only have Poliwrath, Keldeo and Urshifu as Water/Fighting types.
I also already have names for the two legendaries:
Saurus for Koraidon (after my favorite character in AFK Arena)
Jetfire for Miraidon (after Jetfire the Autobot from Transformers, former friend of Starscream, my favorite character)
Tiger, Lion and Leopard are felines, not "directly" cats...
For Entei, I see "like a dog, or like a cat" : these 2 are a good answer.

Entei is the one most like a dog, but it's still based also on a cat. In the end it was made to look like it could be either, but it appears it was intended in the beginning to be like a cat mostly.
And yes, I do love cats more than dogs. Cats are mostly chill and independant, and I relate to them a lot more than dogs.
Dogs are a bit too needy and energetic for me, they intimidate me with their happiness and loudness lol
I also like that while dogs submit to the humans and see them as their "pack leader", cats see us humans as their servants, making THEM the master.
I used to think that the Legendary Beasts were based on 3 different animals:
Raikou a cat, Entei a dog, and Suicune a hare (I had heard someone say it was based on a hare and can kinda see it, but haven't actually found any official source to prove it).
I definitely NEVER thought of them all as "dogs", because Raikou is obviously a sabertooth tiger. Entei doesn't look particularly like anything that exists, but once I saw the mention of lion as a basis, I could kinda see it with the big paws and the mane, but it reminds me more of a mandrill with the face. XD And I guess that means the creator succeeded in making something that doesn't look like a particular animal.
I could never really guess what Suicune was supposed to be, I kinda believed it was a hare because of the slim figure and the long thing on its forehead which I guess I believed represented the hare's long ears, but I didn't think it was a dog since Entei was supposed to be one.
Anyway, they're all three based on cats, Entei also a bit like a dog, but the name of the trio should really just be called "The Legendary Beasts" instead of "Legendary Dogs", since they aren't all based on dogs, and while "Legendary Cats" would be more correct than the dogs, "Beasts" just describes them best and is ambiguous, and beasts can be anything, so yeah.
We got another artificial legendary! First Mewtwo, then Genesect(actually a mythical), then Type Null/Silvally and Magearna(also a Mythical) and now the Violet legendary.

If sprigatito evolves into a grass psychic type then it will definitely be a weed mon, since quaxly likes to kick it does make sense for it to water fighting, to complete the double type triangle I think freucoco will be fire dark. Since starters now in days secondary typing is usually beneficial against one of the other starters who originally had an advantage against it maybe swap the dark and psychic types above for balance.

My favorite types are Flying and Normal, Aka the two no one chooses as their favorites.
Flying is because I always use as least one flying type, always had a love for flying animals, and own a bird in real life. As for normal, I like the diversity in how you can use them and they have saved me many times in my nuzlockes(such as Rival the Zangoose and Exodia the Likilicky)
I love Normal type Pokemon 🙋.
Gen 3 has many of them, and they are cool.
King Zangoose at first, Linoone the painkiller, Swellow Aka BIRD JESUS the Third ( flame orb - Facade best combo EVER ), Exploud, Slaking...

Likilicky because she became essential to winning BDSP with belly drum, double team, ice beam, focus punch, leftovers, and high friendship(I also plan to cosplay the little weirdo)
Zangoose because he swept Ghetsis, the elite four, and Iris
Dubwool because of how much I relied on him in my first playthrough of Sword
And Cinncino for being heavily associated with me in my early writing days
But almost every normal type is great to me, and I think they can be overlooked for being "boring"

The origin of the legendary name is from korai(古来) which mean past while mirai(未来) mean future. But did you know why their is don? The reason why there don is to make the the name, koRAIDON and miRAIDON sound like "ride on" which might imply by their design that we will be riding them like motorcycle

My theory is that the legendary in scarlet inspired mythology for the region and violets legendary inspired their technology, most cover Legendaries have something to do with inspiring the religion in some way, black and white have the legends, sun and moon have the mythology, and so on

I've chosen the fire type starters for every gen I've played except gen 8 where I chose Grookey because I wasn't as big of a fan of scorbunny however I am definitely going back to the fire starter this gen

I’m algo gonna go with scarlet since my 2 favorite colors are scarlet and crimson so I have to go with that one, I’m curious how they’ll handle the past and future theme with the games 👌
ngl...i agree with u on the standing up. And from past games the ones on all fours havent really ever been the favorite starters, even often the least favored. Even tho i like the quads, bipedals are more popular than Venasaur, Torterra, Meganium, Samurott, etc idk just my take 🤷 (i still love them all btw, just an inference from popularity)

Listen…..I think all starters would look good with they go bipedal, before you get your pitch forks and torches let me explain. I see fuecoco just evolving into a big fat pepper dinosaur. I see quaxly turning into some bipedal pirate Pokémon with a bigger fur coat around its body and holding feather as a sword. And I could see sprigatito Turing into a good bipedal grass starter, maybe they could make it have a similar body to your fakemon that you showed in this video, little bigger head with more narrow eyes, and flowers bursting all over their body with a green mist around them.
Lechonk is the true Legendary of this generation.

Gen 2 legendary beast are all cats with raikou being a saber tooth tiger, entei being a lion, and suicune being a mix of kirin and panther. Luxray are all lynx.

Lechonk's name is even more perfect because Lechon in the Philippines is literally roasted pig, an iconic dish for celebrations.
It gets better when you realize its full form is "lechon kawali" which mixes nicely into "lechonk."
There has already been a meme based on that fact, where it is like someone will name the Lechonk “Awali” and then it was like “holy shit is that a Philippines reference” in the style of “jojo references”

The internet was so furious about the meer posibility of this new cat standing up, that they almost had me confinced that most cat pokemon stand on tw legs. Turns out, there are only 2-3 where the final evolution stands on two legs! Now I understand the outry for "keep it on all 4" even less! xD
It’s that Incineroar was quadrupedal but looked like a pro wrestler, and then Gen 8 starters all were quadrupedal but then became human-like. It also doesn’t help that while Rillaboom and Inteleon are arguably still recognizable as cartoon animals, Incineroar and Cinderace look like humans with some animalistic elements. Therefore, the cute Sprigatito (the one where the immediacy of Fuecoco or the unique design of Quaxly is not the immediate focus) is the one people are worried about going bipedal. It helps that Sprigatito looks cute and could function quadrupedal as it’s evolutions (before the final form was confirmed a bipedal Grass/Dark type), so there is precedent for a furry final evolution but not necessarily predominantly with cats, but with starters.
In short, it’s the new Fire/Fighting debacle again.
i can tell you without a doubt that anyone who gets scarlet or violet will have a lechonk on their team for majority of the beginning of the game

I picked Totodile in Soulsilver, and I will be picking Fuecoco for the same reasons here: They are such jolly happy little lads and I love how much personality oozes from both of them.

The theme of the games are most definitely "Time Traveling."
"Scarlet" being involved with the past, and "Violet" of course involving the future.
A lot of people have already been theorizing that the two new professors, Sada & Turo, are secretly evil.
I highly doubt that, but I do think that there might be a rivalry between the two of them arguing about which time era is best to study Pokémon in.
Sada studies the past versions of Pokémon (via Legends Arceus) & wants to try to bring back some extinct species.
Turo studies & theorizes possible future versions of Pokémon & evolutions, to be prepared for them when they become real.
I would like to see an Emerald situation where Professors Sada and Turo aren’t evil but they will go very far and make questionable decisions and involve researchers under them like the player. That would be a cool angle for the non-gym plot line to take.
