- Blues musician Kirk Fletcher gives a guitar lesson on bar chords and double stops found in Gospel
Soul, Rhythm & Blues. Kirk chats about learning guitar in church and playing for a couple years before he knew open first position guitar chords. Kirk also gives some examples on little double stop tricks you can use on major chords. Kirk plays his 1966@gibsonguitar ES 335 (Eugene)
Every now and again, God gets it so right. So so perfectly right. You literally vaporise any angst and frustration I have from a shitty day etc, just by playing and talking to us.
I get that, Kirk is such a sweet person, I met I'm at Normans Rare Guitars and he was soooo kind and humble
I believe his name is Kirk
Kirk is one amazingly talented, humble, generous, beautiful human beings. Thank you so much sir. You inspire us to keep great music going.
I'm kinda blown away that you're giving this away and not asking for anything in return. I just learned more in about 5 mins. than I have in a long time. Thank you for your time and generosity. It's also cool to see how much depth is behind your playing; that's good to know for anyone who plays guitar because we're all still learning. Peace.
did you not notice the ads?
@@vkl47 yeah that $12.49 he gets every month from ad revenue is the drive that keeps him going

You Sir are a True Inspiring Person to anyone who has ever touched a guitar.
thanku for inspiring us sir. You are my favorite blues player🙏🙏🙏
His free playing matches perfectly with the quick reflection (captured in the moment) from a whiskey glass.
We started as a thrash metal heavy metal band but his playing captivates us
I play blues, soul and reggae 99% of the time and it's amazing how much theory a person can know without realizing they know it.
Kirk, wanted to say, get well soon and God bless. We all need you, the world needs as many like you as we can get.
Love those double stop licks in the beginning --using the C chord in different places ---now I,m learning !Thankyou!
Your magic is that you live and breath the guitar. The little riffs just come so naturally. But I love hearing you talk through this, it really is inspirational. Thanks Kirk.
My dude...you are rad. No ego, no BS...just great feel and sound.
Years ago I used to jam with a Kirk Fletcher jam track. Later I heard that same jam on the intro to the Larry Elder show. It validated my love for both these guys! I'm pretty sure they're friends.
Thanks for a great lesson. Every time Kirk says 'you know' he gets this great infectious smile. This man sending good vibes.
I've been playing for 30 years and this was a great lesson. Thank You.
Your brother taught me all I know about weight lifting. I’m glad I can continue to better my crafts in the same bloodline.
Fantastic lesson ❤ love double stops, as well as your style and approach to teaching. You really build upon simple concepts to open up the fret board. I'm 37 and sometimes it amazes me going from sitting in my room for half a decade without being able to tune my guitar, to now having this level of expertise at the fingertips.
Why do you all make it look so easy. Thanks! 😁😁
what a great player great person!! Kirk is gold . THANK YOU Kirk!!!
I love the way you teach and the underlying joy and love of music that is so evident❤😊
I used to watch Kirk Fletcher at Cafe Boogaloo in Hermosa Beach. What a great lesson, thanks!
Thank you Kirk for not only being an incredible musician but also for being an incredible human being. I found you through Joe Bonamassa and I’m so thankful that I did! 🙏

Thank you for sharing these musically beautiful sounding pointers 👍🏽👍🏼❗
Kirk . Such a nice lesson. I started the same way. But never got into triads. Double stops. Love the sliding 6th thanks always
We met at Jim's guitar shop in Torrance and talked about Bill Doggett! Good to see ya man! Maybe we'll jam sometime. "Honky Tonk".
Thanks! The best lesson I have on a style of playing that has eluded me but really speaks to inner groove 😊
Thanks man, I could watch your fingers float across the fretboard all dang day.

Wow Kirk Fletcher, your style of play is so smooth and clean. Thank you so much.
The intro reminds me of Bill Withers' Lean On Me. Thank you for this lesson, this is all great information to take to the woodshed.
PAY DIRT! The eagle just landed, Kirk! I've watched and learned some things in this realm from the great Cornell's site(s) and others....BUT...Something about your relaxed delivery and the way you just gradually built so much on seemingly so little - REALLY clicked for me! It's kept this old dabbler up past bedtime, but for a good reason! GREAT lesson, Bro! Thank you! Just subscribed.. 👍
This is the perfect lesson for me. Instantly picking this up and sounds great. There's a whole world here. Thanks, Kirk!
